Bit of broad generalization. Discussing politics can be unfortunately a dirty business

That's part of the problem. Too often we Christians get into the dirt when our conversations should always be Christ honouring.

Speaking of dirt: "When you through mud at others you get your hands dirty at the same time."

Hence the 'we' in my statement ;) though I try hard not to personalise my dirt balls and instead throw them at ideas or statements.

That comes from the Jewish author of 'Save a Jew, save yourself!'

"...“The 65 million American Evangelical cultists love Jews for one simple reason: They hope to bundle every hairy Jewish [a$$] up, air-freight them to the West Bank and East Jerusalem (once those areas have been cleansed of Muslims), and use the Jews as bait to bring upon the Rapture, as kindling in the Apocalypse, the final battle that will bring Jesus back to Earth. None of this can happen until every last Jew is penned into the occupied territoriesand the Jews won’t get there unless the far-right runs Israel and America. Currently 65 million American cultists are using everything in their power, from prayer to politics, to make this Helter Skelter scenario come true.”..."

...and here (the lifeline of the neocons):

"The pro-Israel lawmakers had a field-day on November 4, 2010 election for the Congress and Senate. It was accomplished by the financial contributions by Jewish lobby groups and the 65-million-strong Christian Zionist fanatics. The occupation of Palestine by the European Jews could not materialized without the help of Zionist Christians in Europe and the US. Even to this day, the blind support of Israel by the governments in the US, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, EU, etc. comes mainly from the Christian Zionists.

According to PEW Poll results released by CNN – 78% of born-again Evangelical Christians (Catholic, Protestant and other Christian denominations) voted for the Republican party members who showed their support for Israel...."

Brother....there are tons of American Jews who are loyal to the USA and have zero interest in moving to Israel. So what do these so called "Christian Zionists" propose to do about that little obstacle?

You're making distinctions where none exist. TND maintains,as do some others here, that "the vast majority of Americans are under the guiding principles of the Christianity of the Bible." I say nonsense. There are two categories of people --the lost and the saved. Of course some of the lost will be saved. But there are two groups --only two. Would the Apostle Paul recognize a third category? It sounds like a Mason or Mormon thing to me --this fuzzy --watered-down Christianese/Americana blend. Patriotism and Christianity do not = the same thing.

Can one be under the guiding principles of the Christianity of the Bible without recognizing one's sinful and estranged state apart from God? Can one be under such a status when one is actively opposed to the mandates of the Bible? How can one hate God (all unbelievers do hate God) yet qualify for this fictionalized intermediate status?

...shhhhhh, be quiet about that, every now and again the right wingnuts need some reassurances given them in the form of the latest last days prophecy best seller that things are unfolding as the dispensationalists have been saying all along and we wouldn't want to confuse them with the facts, now, would we? :)

These people got to have their last days excitement adrenaline fix on a frequent basis. They wouldn't know anything about scripture if it weren't for these novels.

Did you read the article written by (Jewish) Mark Ames? He reveals his attitude (after spewing hatred of the NT) in the last paragraph:

"Truth is, we secular humanists, nihilists and the like no longer have a real claim to America. We’re foreigners in a nation of cross-chuckers. We may live in the best parts within 10 miles of the ocean coasts and a few enclaves in the interior but the same could be said for expatriates living in any Third World country. Like expatriates in the Third World, our good lifestyles are purchased at the expense of the credulous natives, who are easy to exploit, a little slow and easily diverted by their crazy superstitions. But in the end we are guests in their country. America is theirs, and we’d better get used to it."

That's the way it should be, although some will insist on taking it personal thinking that is a good defense of their position.

Yes.

Romans 2:14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves,
15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)

Would say the intent of the Founders was to have a government and culture based upon the Bible and jesus Christ!

Again, NOT a christian nation as under Covenant with God as isreal was, but as nation upholdin biblical morals/standards/teachings!

A National Reform Association once existed to pressure the Federal Government into amending the Constitution so as to recognize God and Christ. It seems most, if not all, of their members were Presbyterians who had the goal of remaking the Constitution into a National Covenant of sorts similar to the one they tried to implement in Scotland in the 17th century.

The basic problem inside the D.C. beltway is special interest groups are stalling the Congress into gridlock. The problem with religion getting into government is the folks in charge think they rule by divine fiat. This makes for a lot of prejudicial treatment for those who may disagree, whatever their faith.

Freedom of conscience is a divine right. Government needs to stay out of religion and education.

Home and home church are getting popular.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
