I have never understood why the legacy of racial stereotype should not be discarded. To see black people as "cooks" or "porters" but not as "pilots" or "doctors" seems wrong to me. It is easy to wonder why black culture is so blind to its bias, but what about our non-black culture, no not a smidgen of bias there. :)

Actually that is happening - Bill Crosby and his TV wife (I know - bad example) were a Dr and a lawyer,
Many TV shows have had ancestors who were of the The Tuskegee Airmen . (Family Matters for one)
Other examples as well.

In real life - there have been several Generals and Admirals who have a darker tone. Many other examples.

IMHO - people often want to play the victim card.

Yes, efforts to displace the stereotypes are on display on Television. But that does not mean the non-black culture has arrived as a color blind, love your neighbor culture. Ask yourself why Democrats block school choice in poor black neighborhoods? Or why they advocate for abortion which primarily kills black babies? As Lucy might say, we got plenty of splainin to do.

To be clear, I am no fan of black culture, which I think hurts rather than helps black people, but we need to clean up our own backyards first, or at least that is way scripture reads to me.

Before what? As Tonto said to his erstwhile partner the Lone Ranger, “What you mean ‘we,’ white man?” The Dems are the backyards of a great many blacks. Clean them up indeed. Won’t that take some doing. Still, I'd like to see them tackle the job.

Still addressing what others should do, but I did not see that your backyard was in view. So before we cast aspersions toward others, we should clean up our own backyard. To claim your backyard (and mine) does not need work is not a biblical view.

Next the Liberals will want to take guns away from Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam.

Not “will”; they already did, on the brand new Looney Tunes show that just came out a week or two ago on HBOMax. Even I think that's overboard, especially while they'va added all sorts of graphic gore to the show (characters being turned inside out, etc. Otherwise, the sdow looks good as far as recreating the classic look of the characters).

Yeah, I know, I was being sarcastic.

For real, they are going to rename Eskimo pies for racial reasons.

That means Winnebago will have to go because whites should call their RVs something else.

The standard color for "Sharpies" will have to be changed from "black" to "African-American."

This stuff about Aunt Jemima has been going on since the 1950s. I quit buying it long ago for that reason. I never did like Uncle Ben's rice and we quit eating cream of wheat in the 1950s also. And I don't like Eskimo pies, either.
