AV1611 Translator Sidenotes 2: Matthew

Yet the KJV says "all the people SAW the thunderings" (Ex. 20:18). Who's right, I wonder -- the KJV or your four year old?
In the sense of the inclusion of all the happenings in one sentence, the things seen are understood as such, the things not seen are understood as only heard, uh, anyone, uh, except yall, uh, Scott, uh, it is silly to think the writer is saying the things heard were seen or anything else.

Here is another of the some 40 places in the
Net Testament where the Textus Recuptus (TR)
has variants. Recall that the TR is multiple
copies of the N.T. or specific books thereof.
S.Matthew XXVI:26 (KJV1611):
And as they were eating, Iesus
took bread, and ||blessed it, and brake
it, and gaue it to the Disciples, and said,
Take, eate, this is my body.
||Many Greek copies haue, gaue thanks.

Even today, before meals we call the prayer

IMHO it is deceptive not to have footnotes
depicting the variant readings of the
Greek Source. It is just as deceptive as calling
the KJV the "Authorized Version" as thou it
were authorized by God Himself. In fact,
only the KJV1611 edition was even authorized
by King James. I know for a fact that King
James was NOT alive to authorize the KJV1769 edition.
NIV - give thanks
NASB - "after a blessing"
NLT - "asked God's blessing on it"
Note here that the NASB takes the majority
reading. But you will probably never find a
KJVO who will praise the NASB for it.
