Baltimore’s Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake instructed police to give rioting mobs “space” to carry out their destruction.

“I made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech,” she said to the press.
“It’s a very delicate balancing act, because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well,” the mayor said.

“And we worked very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate.”

Zaacie needs to wade in on this! I am sure he could give one of his "famous" justifications!

There will be lawsuits from the destroyed businesses, and folks who were harassed at the baseball game.

And this after the family begged for peace.

Apparently the rioters were from out of town. This protest was staged not grassroots. Hence the mayors allowance for property destruction.

What happen to that man was a tragedy. If his death is the result of police brutality or negligence they should be punished. That being said turning the streets over to rioters is simply an invitation to anarchy, it will spread like a cancer.

I posted recently on another thread that two white police officers were murdered by blacks in the small town where I live. There was not a single demonstration by the white folks.

I believe they did not just turn the streets over to rioters they planned it, condoned it, and provided for it.

It's a tragedy when any life is lost. Unfortunately much of white America isn't moved until it's someone who is white and thus your post.

Good for her. She's trying to give them the space to purge some of their anger without it getting folks killed.

You have to hit white privilege in its pocketbook. That's the only thing that opens its blindness to see and cleans out is ears to hear.

I'm curious: all this race talk, by both sides on this board ... how are we exemplifying Galatians 3:28/Colossians 3:11?

As I've mentioned numerous times, the wickedness coming out of old white men on this board and throughout the church in the US has NOTHING to do with Scripture because they don't care what Scripture says. They didn't care during slavery and Jim Crow and they don't care now.

So don't expect it to exemplify what Scripture says. This is about good old fashioned hate and politics, which, like the last couple of election cycles have shown, that when it comes to getting or keeping power and authority, even folks who call themselves Christians are willing to make moral exceptions if it means defeating that which they don't like more.

Rejoice now, Zaac. Your foot shall slide, in due time.

And please don't lie and tell us you're not happy about this.

You have shown the same depths of depravity. You're actually willing to lie.
