A Methodist preacher baptizes the Methodist , A Catholic baptizes a Catholic etc, right
Who baptized Jesus, A Baptist, John the Baptist, get it now?
John the Baptist baptism was for repentance and only for the Jews. Jesus commended his disciples to baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit big difference. Its not the same baptism at all.
Justification by faith and predestination both are doctrines taught by Paul in the Bible but Lutherans and Calvinists don't pretend to have their origin with Paul.
Baptists came to existence as a movement as result of the Protestant Reformation and Anabaptist movement. Particular Baptists in England in 17th cent. were Calvinists who believed in baptism by immersion and general Baptists at that time were Arminians.
