An improvement perhaps; but reformed apostasy is still apostasy reformed.

BTW, True Baptists are not a denomination. Denomination is a word used to describe mostly reformed Rome. True Baptists have never been part of Rome; in fact quite the contrary--they have been persecuted to death by Rome and her daughters.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Your definitions do not set the standard for Baptist vocabulary. Churches that are local and autonomous are still a denomination.

Have you ever studied the three models
RCC, visible and universal
Protestant invisible and universal
Baptist local and visible

When words are defined to explain a difference, that is one thing. Different words for the only reason to develope your own fad serves no purpose. The three models above make it quite clear the difference between Protestants and Baptists.

Actually, you are partially correct. We are not a denomination in the sense that we have a hierarchy, but we are with the second meaning of the word.
BTW, I used to be a "Baptists are not a denomination" until I understood the entire truth.

Denomination is a word used to describe mostly reformed Rome.
Many things other than religion can be a denomination - how about money......

Several posts have used the phrase "a reformed Rome." Is that kind of like a nicer and gentler Adolph Hitler?

Then we have Reformed Baptists, Reformed Presbyterians, Reformed Greek Orthodox, etc, etc, etc,. Also, everyone is always patting the "early church fathers on the back for the theological accuracy. If they had read Scripture correctly and built a New Testement church the way which was instructed in the first place, there would be no need of any reform.

If They Built It.....

I personally believe that the early "Church Fathers" did do all in their power with the influence of the Lord and the Apostles to "build" scriptural New Testament local churches as the Lord directed them to do. We just need to remember that with all things that sinful men are part and parcel to (and the visible, local church is one of those things) it was and is almost inevitable that things will regress due to the imperfect influence of saved (yet fallen men that still possess a fallen nature). God knows how to "preserve" that which is His so there will always be GOOD, yet imperfect churches here on this earth until He takes us ALL home. We are all...as individuals AND churches ALWAYS in dire need of REVIVAL and REFORM of some form or another.

For the record...Rome can't be reformed. The "Protestant" denominations that broke away from Rome and started the "Reformation", for all the good that they accomplished, still left bearing some of the "marks" and "traditions" of their former "Mother Church". As time has passed there has been and now is a "drift" by many of those denominations back in the direction of, and an increasing "dialogue" with, the Church of Rome. The apostasy of our day is picking up speed as the end approaches. The are many liberal "denominational baptists" that are moving in that direction as well. If you try to "reform" something that is FALSE right down to the roots to begin with you are wasting your time ( the TRUE Church of Jesus Christ was NOT founded on Peter, but on the true and ONLY Rock...the Lord Jesus Christ). The RCC began as a lie and continues as such to this day. We are to have NO FELLOWSHIP with the "unfruitful works of darkness". We are to "earnestly contend for the faith" and resist the advance of darkness as much as possible.
