RD2, My advice for you, for what it's worth, ....continue to love your daughter. Maybe...just maybe, she is being true to the way she was made. To be openly gay in this culture, takes a lot of God-given guts.

John, I'd have to disagree with you in part. Of course he should love his daughter. I also don't think gay people wake up one day and decide "Hey, I want to be gay". Homosexuality may very well be the result of factors outside of a person's control such as upbringing, environmental factors, and even genetics. I just don't know. However, that still does not override God's clear statements in His inerrant word that homosexual actions are sinful. For example, a homosexual person may avail himself of God's prevenient grace and come to faith in Christ and still be "gay" in the sense of having same-sex attraction, but choosing not to act on those disordered urges. I think we need to be careful to make a distinction between temptation and actual sin.

Being gay is a persons choice. If it was of God, than why did He destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? Why did Paul warn those who lay down with the same genders that they would go to hell???

If it is ordained of God, than God "did make junk!" And I don't believe He made junk, or, mistakes when He created man and woman."

Could you even begin to imagine where this world have gone had Adam or Eve decided they were "gay???" at the time of their creation. Life would never have moved forward.

Sure, God would have had to start over with another man and woman, but, even God would be scratching His head and wondering what went wrong!!!

I don't see God making gay people. I see the gay life style as a life style that one chooses to live and follow. And to follow that path leads that person off the narrow path and unto the "highway to hell", and that is my opinion and view.

Do I love her, YES! Do I accept her choice, no! She has chosen a life that will forever separate the two of us in eternity. And this is Scriptural, my brother, NOT UP TO DEBATE.

Gays need to repent, go in a direction that is opposite and away from the acting upon the unnatural lust within their hearts, and to not do this is going to bring His wrath down upon them. God isn't going to go easy on a lot of people in this world. He is a just God, a God who will impart His fury and wrath upon those who have went their way, which is in a direction away from Him.

I do appreciate your views, and your compassion toward her, but, it is not Biblical, and surely not the way God intended for His creation to go in when He told us to be frutiful and multiply. The gays in this world seem to have heard be "fruitful" and ignored the call to multiply, which same sex people simply can't do, NATURALLY!

This view is correct folks. Imagine a movement in our country that sought to legitimize adultery. And then try to make the Bible say that adultery is ok as long as the act is done between two people who really love each other, and that God made me in such a manner that I am meant to be an adulterer.

A normal person may be tempted to adultery, and struggle with that most of his or her life. A former homosexual who becomes a Christian may struggle with attraction to the same sex. But both should reject immoral temptations and keep themselves from sexual immorality.

Exactly. We all have our weaknesses. Some men have a weakness with the wandering eye. Others done, but have another weakness. Satan is going to hit you where you are weak. Rather than writing off sodomy by saying they just can't help it (which is a lie from the pit of hell), we ought to be teaching people the truth, that is that sodomy is an abominable sin in the eyes of God and they need to resist that temptation in the same manner that I try to resist the temptations I'm faced with.

Homosexuality has been around since early in Genesis. Is it not strange how it continued on through human history and every now and then pops up as a critical behaviour of mankind?

I wonder about these things also. I know that just a hand full of years ago if someone in high school was gay they stood a good chance of being beaten on a regular basis. I don't know why any student would choose this for themselves if this lifestyle was strictly a choice on their part.

It isn't strange at all. There is a devil out there that hates God and knows what God hates. This devil is declared by the bible to be leading the fallen world system. It is not suprise, then, to find society at large engaging in sins like this and not only condoning it, but celebrating it as well.

I'm sorry Jim, and I like your wisdom, but, this sounds like you may be buying the soft sell of the devil to accept homosexuality as a third gender.

I hope I'm not hearing your correctly, because if I am, you may be getting some real flack for making this stand.

You seem to be a scholar of the Word, and I can't help but believe that you know that this is a sin. The fact that it's been around since the days of old, only mean that it is one of the earlier sins that God abhorred, hated, and judged. surely His wrath will be poured out on all who sin and fail to come to Him, surrend all, and live for Him. As Jesus told the prostitute, I can hear Him tell the practicing gay, too, "GO AND SIN NO MORE !!!"

Brother Paul,

Normally, I let people think what tey wish about me and things I say. In this case, however, I don't wish to leave any doubt. I do not support homosexuality as being anything but condemned in scripture. I have no doubts about this.

I am posturing the question because I don't think a lot of people have put enough thought into the people involved and have perhaps missed the boat in dealing with these people.

In all of scripture, there are other factors that entered into the condemnation of human kind. Lot's wife was not instantly condemned because of homosexuality, but simply because she turned and looked back........direct disobedience to God. The people in that city did not all engage in homosexual acts. Many of them were looking for virgin women. Even Lot offered his daughters, didn't he?

Perhaps the true lesson is that sin is sin is sin, and this is what we should be addressing.

Hope this clarifies my viewpoint.

Homosexuality is a sin, there is no going around that, and God ordained marriage for a man and a woman, which I believe to be one of the reasons He calls the practice of homosexuality confusion.

Many ay that homosexuality is no more or less sinful than, say, drunkenness, or incest, or lying, and while this may be true the fact is that there are sins which God seems to hate more (and since He is the Creator and the Lawmaker He has the right to peeves) and adultery, homosexuality, murder, and idolatry seems to be in the top list.

Why do you suppose God went down to Sodom in the first place? Hint: it wasn't to count how many righteous people lived there.
