I just like to watch a good dunking and enjoy a pot luck supper afterward ... that's Baptist 'nuff fer me.
After that I like reading scripture and find the Heidelberg Catechism makes a lot of sense, so whatever the church is, I am a 5-pointer/Reformed/Particular to the core ... that God, He don't play around with this saving people thing. God just DOES IT!

While I empathize with your experience, it does not negate the hallmarks of a local church. Church discipline, baptism, the Lord's supper, preaching, congregational signing et al. remain a part of a healthy local church.
Tell you what.... my sons moving to Orlando. Actually more toward Winter Garden. We will be hosting a wedding for him and his girl. You know any churches? ( not IFB)

I am a Independent Fundamental Pre-Millennial Baptist; KJV

Really lol! is there any other kind?

That being said and being ordained in the IFB Church I am not fond of the many legalistic characteristics that exist in many ( not all) IFB churches. The church government in the IFB church can be a problem as well as compared to the SBC, etc. churches. You get a pastor in their who strays from scripture, has his busy body robots in the majority and he then becomes like a dictator and you cannot get him out of there.

Sounds familiar :Frown

Sad state churches are becoming these days. Laodicean churches are more the norm these days and baptist churches are no exception; very sad.

Follow the bouncing ball, entertain me and whatever you do- do not offend me:Cry

Isaiah 30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

I don’t really see it as anything but a silly tradition where you get wet. Now if we were all sitting discussing our experiences with God and how we were convicted, yes . Anyway I perfer dinner with my wife and family getting caught up and having a few laughs. Maybe catching a football game.

Well... I don’t see it. I’m amil.

Anyway we should always be challenged. Why did Christ come; what was his plan; what was he really thinking; why this same old same old; what was really going on at the river Jordan; why don’t we wash feet; what’s really important... ya know, stuff like that.

You forgot good singing and good Sovereign Grace preaching, which will get you ready for a good dunking... Hopefully by then you have been fed spiritually and have an appetite for good food... Then if it's communion day, partake of the Lords supper and wash feet if you a mind too... And a member has been added to the church of God... Good Christian fellowship!... Now go home and practice what you heard!... that's Baptist 'nuff fer me... Brother Glen:)

Aaaaaahhhhhhh. Stabbed right through my "Southern Baptists Faith and Message Class" heart. :)
Just a silly tradition? Hey, if you are ever on the West Coast of Florida, let me know and we can go to Denney's and educate yer ignorant self about "just" what Baptism is all about. :Wink

I don't think I can help you if you don't know how to party with the Body of Christ ... maybe you could visit a Pentecostal Church and get some fire in your bones? :Roflmao

No foot washin' fer me. I have this sensory thing and REALLY don't want to be touched. I sit by the wall so they have to get past two people to hug on me at the greeting part. :)

One of those foot-washin' hugger types! :Smile

GUILTY!... And loving it... Brother Glen:)

John 13:6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

13:8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

13:9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

I'm not trying to convert or convince him, only tell him what scripture says... He's a touchy Southern Baptist...... Sorry that was the wrong word... In the words of M. C. Hammer... U Can't Touch This!... Brother Glen:D
