Being a calvinist and living like an arminian

Recently I heard a Calvinist say that Calvinists live like Arminians in the real world. I found that to be an interesting statement. What do you think?

So many forms of Calvinism and Arminianism it's hard to say. I assume they are meaning that the same fruits are evident in both. When one is saved a change takes place in how we think, act, and live. If this is what is meant then I agree. We make lables for everything, God just says that I am his child.

Mature

About 10-13 years ago I seen a letter going out question Calvinism because it was hidden in circles in the churches and that this teaching was only for the mature these circles taught. So they didn’t spread it out, they thought people would just come to this conclusion when they were mature enough. This guy question this, saying if Calvinism was true then it should be taught to everyone if it was the truth. After this letter I saw Calvinism coming out more. Maybe he thinks that regular people are not mature enough. I can’t find that letter

Here is a thought.
Maybe he was referring to the Calvinist version of eternal secuirty, i.e. Perserverence of the Saints. The elect will perservere to the end; so if you don't perservere in trusting in Christ, you were not part of the elect. Therefore perserve in trusting Christ in order to had been part of the elect.

[Arminians] (Calvinist) perservere in trusting Christ so they [don't forfeit their salvation] (were part of the elect).

Another thought: He may consider all non 5 Point Calvinist to be Arminians.

In what regard though? I manner of holiness? Godliness?

There was a marked difference between my evangelism and its motivations from when I was Arminian in my thinking to when I understand the BIble's teaching on grace.

I agree. This is something I am praying daily for God's help in. As I grow in knowledge, I want to grow equally in character.

Yeah, they are called Calarms.

I think what is meant is that most of us live as though the choices we make are genuinely free and not predetermined or predestined. In other words we live as if what we do really makes a difference.

I have often said it is easy to die for one's faith. It is much more difficult to live for it.
