When do we enter the kingdom of God? The answer depends on whether we mean, when do we enter the kingdom of God spiritually, or physically.
When God, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, baptizes us into Christ, we are transferred from the realm of darkness into the kingdom of His Son. In order to enter into the kingdom we must be born anew, thus after we are baptized into Christ's death, where we undergo the circumcision of Christ, we arise in Christ a new creation, born anew, and saved. We are sealed in Christ with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit forever.
So what is all this stuff about "inheriting" something or being heirs of something. Lets consider this idea.
Matthew 19:29 says if we leave what we loved for Christ's sake, we will receive better stuff including inheriting eternal life. One way to look at this is if we are saved we will receive better stuff, i.e. the blessings of salvation, which includes inheriting eternal life.
Matthew 25:35 refers to those on the right inheriting the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. So this "kingdom" has been prepared for the heirs, i.e. the children of God.
Mark 17:10 and Luke 18:18 refer to inheriting eternal life, recounting the story of the Rich Young Ruler.
Luke 10:25 has the lawyer asking about inheriting eternal life, with the answer being to love God and our neighbors with all our heart. So salvation does not come from believing the right doctrines, but from loving God with all our heart. And to do this, we must leave what we loved other than God, putting God alone on the throne of our heart.
Bottom line, it not just turning to God and trusting in Christ, it is also about leaving worldly treasures for the love of God.
What are we
sealed for?
Who are kept by the power of God (sealed by the Holy Spirit) through faith (We received the promise of the Spirit through the faith. Meaning we have received the blessings of Abraham through Jesus Christ, that blessing being the imputation of the righteousness of God, that is justified ,made righteous, by the blood of Christ)
unto salvation ready
to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:5 {That being} To an inheritance
incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away,
reserved in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:4 By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we are begotten again, sanctified, set apart
unto a
lively
hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
In the story of the rich young ruler in Matthew, Mark and Luke, inheriting eternal life, entering the kingdom of God and being saved are equated as being the same.
Now this I say, brethren, that
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1 Cor 15:50
You, even though you are in Christ, was born of the flesh and currently made up of flesh and blood and corruptible. You cannot enter the kingdom of God, naked, that is without a body, you will need to be clothed with your house from heaven, That house is a body incorruptible called eternal life.
In Christ you have been translated from the kingdom of darkness unto the kingdom of God (Light)
By the resurrection of Jesus Christ you have been made meet
to be partekers of the inheritance of the saints in light: The same inheritance spoken of in 1 Cor 15:50
I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead
at his appearing and his kingdom;
Think about this.
Luke 20:36
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and (because they)
are the children of God,
being the children of the resurrection.
Even Jesus: And declared
the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness,
by the resurrection from the dead: Romans 1:4 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead,
no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise,
I will give you the sure mercies of David. Acts 13:34 When did he God the Father
give Jesus his Son the sure mercies of David?
Here is a good question. What power did he have by resurrection from the dead?
