That description reminds me of Maul's BBQ sauce.Cincinnati style Montgomery Inn BBQ Sauce is popular here. It's a tomatoey, vinergary, sweetish sauce that I keep on hand for when I do bbq.

I'll bring the brisket!!...we should put on an old time Baptist potluck...
I'll bring a savory pork roast, shuck beans, cornbread, and cole slaw.
My guess would be "Danish" means small. Years ago I would get "Danish tails" which was small Icelandic lobster.I looked at their menu online:
HALF RACK BBQ DANISH BABY BACK RIBS ................................................................. $14.95
Our slow roasted pork ribs, cooked in our special oven 'til tender
and basted with our own BBQ sauce.
FULL RACK BBQ DANISH BABY BACK RIBS ...................................................................$23.95
Our slow roasted pork ribs, cooked in our special oven 'til tender
and basted with our own BBQ sauce.
...it's not even listed as a bbq joint and appears the bbq is something other than local SC, but I can vouch that it's good eating.

...or does 'Danish' simply refer to the cut of meat?

Good question. How can we even discuss what is the best BBQ, when we don't even know how to define it! Here's one guy who says it is in the smoke:What exactly is the defining attribute of "BBQ"?.
What Is Barbecue? There are many legitimate definitions, including verbs, nouns, and adjectives. There is even a legal definition. One definition just will not do the job. When you cut through the haze, ultimately, it is smoke that differentiates barbecue from other types of cooking. The fact is that there are many forms of barbecue around the world and it is the presence of smoke that unifies them all.
What Is Barbecue?Barbecue isn't food cooked over wood or charcoal (or a gas flame) on a barbecue grill — that's grilling. Barbecue is slow-cooked and smoked over indirect heat, often in a barbacue pit, with the flavor of wood smoke an essential component (each cook decides what wood to use to give his or her 'cue a signature smoky flair).
But do they have good barbecue?Barbecue is a town in North Carolina. A few miles up the road from my home. The Presbyterian Church is still there, one of the oldest in the state.

Saturday my wife cooked some "country style ribs" in the oven. They were coated with a BBQ style dry rub, and she made a BBQ sauce to go with them. Nevertheless, according to Meathead Goldwyn (above link) they are not BBQ (they're also not really ribs) since they were not cooked over smoke (unless you count that our LP gas oven does smoke a bit). When you cut through the haze, ultimately, it is smoke that differentiates barbecue from other types of cooking.
No restaurants, pretty much just an intersection, not even a stop light. I'm sure if I knocked on some doors in that area they could produce some legit BBQ.But do they have good barbecue?
