Try the free ones and get a sense of what you like and don't like. I have five on my iPad that all offer different things I like. Faithlife Study Bible, GloBible, Pocket Sword, Logos and Tecarta.
FaithLife has NIV Study bible notes, added NRSV text
GloBible has lots of interactive items, maps, notes, timelines, videos
Pocket Sword has the Net Bible with notes
Logos has tons of commentaries, language tools and other resources
Tecarta for text only
My Tecarta NASB allows me to highlight passages, make notes that are permanently attached to the text, etc. Perhaps I've misunderstood what you meant by "text only" but I wanted to throw that out there.Tecarta for text only
Just downloaded this, very impressed!Mysword.
Get free modules for it here.
Hundreds of commentaries, dictionaries, books &c for free plus many Bible versions.
I made an ESV app for ours since it is not available due to the publisher not granting permission. We use mysword on our phones and tablets, all are android. If you want to know more about the ESV for this app PM me.
When you buy for Logos, you buy digital and it is added to your library. It can be pricey depending on what you buy. Once you build up a library, the ability to search is unmatched except for perhaps Accordance. They often have sales or offer packages of books, but it is an investment, no doubt.
When saying text only, I meant that it only came with the bible text, no notes. You can do various things with the text as you mentioned, which of course can be very useful.
