Biden Calls on Companies to Mandate COVID-19 Vaccination
BY ZACHARY STIEBER

President Joe Biden said on Aug. 23 that U.S. companies should impose vaccination requirements.

“Today I’m calling on more companies in the private sector to step up with vaccine requirements that will reach millions more people. If you’re a business leader, a nonprofit leader, a state or local leader, who has been waiting for full FDA approval to require vaccinations, I call on you now to do that,” Biden said.

“Require it. Do what I did last month. Require your employees to get vaccinated or face strict requirements.”

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued approval for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on Aug. 23, making it the first vaccine to receive approval from the drug regulator.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

Agency officials said clinical trial data show that the vaccine is effective in preventing infection from the virus, as well as limiting the severity of the disease and the cases of hospitalization, in regard to breakthrough infections.

Some companies, jurisdictions, and groups have been hesitating to mandating vaccines. One motivation, some said, was that no COVID-19 vaccines were approved by the FDA, aside from emergency use authorization.

Shortly after the FDA’s announcement, New York mandated vaccines for teachers and other educators, New Jersey imposed requirements for educators and state workers, and the Pentagon mandated the Pfizer vaccine for service members.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top adviser to Biden, said earlier this month that he expected numerous mandates to be imposed once a vaccine received full FDA approval.

Biden issued new rules last month that require federal workers and contractors to get vaccinated or submit to regular COVID-19 testing.

“Vaccination requirements have been around for decades. Students, health care professionals, our troops are typically required to receive vaccinations to prevent everything from polio to smallpox, measles, mumps, rubella,” Biden said on Aug. 23. “In fact, the reason most people in America don’t worry about polio, smallpox, measles, mumps, and rubella today is because of vaccines. It only makes sense to require a vaccine to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at the White House that administration officials had already started in recent weeks to push businesses to require vaccination.

“You’ve seen a number of senior officials be more forward-leaning, I should say, about the role that private sector can play in mandating vaccines or taking steps with their own workforces,” she said. “That is always going to be decisions for them to make. But some may assess, and some private sector companies have spoken out about, how final approval of the vaccine may help them take that additional step. So we are here, and we are here to be a resource as they have questions. But certainly, we’re hopeful this will help put in place additional measures around the country.”

While Biden’s order lets federal workers choose not to get a vaccine, the Departments of Health and Human Services and Veterans Affairs have mandated vaccines. People can only avoid getting a vaccine if they claim a medical or religious exemption and that claim is approved.

Asked if the president would mandate vaccines across the federal workforce, Psaki said she expected action to be left to individual agencies.

While the White House supports mandates, other officials and groups have questioned them.

The American Postal Workers Union was one of a number of unions to come out against a mandate in a recent statement,

“If effectiveness of the vaccine against spread of Delta is unmeasured, and if natural immunity (from prior infection) works as well or better than the vaccine against Delta, what’s the scientific basis for a COVID vaccine mandate that doesn’t recognize natural immunity?” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) wrote on Twitter last week.

Massie and dozens of other members of the House sponsored a bill in June to bar military members from being punished if they refuse COVID-19 vaccination. However, the bill is unlikely to pass the Democrat-controlled chamber.

The relevant fact is that we know the vaccine reduces risk of severe illness and death.

You dont vax in a pandemic is what virologists say, of course not all say that, but the legit ones do.
It is not a pandemic of then unvaccimated.
REPORT - New COVID-19 AY3 Strain Found in Israel, And It's NOT Because of the Unvaccinated (welovetrump.com)

Vaxxing like this creates more virulent variants. Israel heavily vaxxed most early on, and now Delta, and a new one called AY3 has appeared.
Cant wait for some here to dispute, distort and call it all lies.
From the article:

Medical overlords like Fraudci and Walensky had to walk back their lies.

What lies? Please provide credible evidence that Dr. Fauci or Dr. Walensky have lied.

Here is a headline from your welovetrump source:

Oxford University Study Finds Vaccinated Healthcare Workers Carry 251 Times Viral Load vs Unvaccinated Workers

This is a falsehood. The real finding is this:

Viral loads of breakthrough Delta variant infection cases were 251 times higher than those of cases infected with old strains detected between March-April 2020.

In less than 5 minutes, I found a reason to suspect your source is, ahem, less than credible.

No, we know that the vaccines are safe because highly trained medical experts tell us that they are. I do not care what the media says, I care what doctors say.

And doctors are virtually unanimous - the vaccines work and are safe.

Not even an independent quote for your last statement Andre?
Is it just virtual truth?

Then in that article this. Look up ADE for yourself. It is one of those many doctors fears of what may happen
Alex Berenson on Twitter: "VERY VERY IMPORTANT PAPER OUT OF JAPAN SUGGESTS DELTA IS MUTATING IN A WAY THAT MAY SOON PRODUCE ADE TO THE PFIZER VACCINE THROUGH NTD MUTATIONS AND BOOSTERS MAY MAKE THE PROBLEM WORSE https://t.co/dhzwo2PPqk" / Twitter

The vaccine would then be completely worthless and all those vaccinated to the original strain, with ADE, have worse outcomes because the virus mutated and they got vaccinated.
The SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant is poised to acquire complete resistance to wild-type spike vaccines (biorxiv.org)

All the people posting how good and wonderful this vaccine is, dont even consider the other scenario, which looks to me to be highly probable, and that is why so many doctors also talk of the risks of this vaccine.\

All the pro vaxxers on this board love to dispute and make disreputable all the various websites and posters that are anti-covid vax.
That is the nature of humanity, some take up one POV, and opponents take up the opposing POV.
And each side claims the moral and accurate high ground, but the only reality is what actually happens in 3 to 5 years from now.
I have noticed one poster here calls the other side, false, and sinful, because they are exposing their side's POV.

That was in a Vietnam Hospital.

New Study out of Vietnam, Vaccinated Hospital Workers have 250 times higher viral load than original virus (super, super spreaders) – Investment Watch (investmentwatchblog.com)

Interpretation: Breakthrough Delta variant infections are associated with high viral loads, prolonged PCR positivity, and low levels of vaccine-induced neutralizing antibodies, explaining the transmission between the vaccinated people. Physical distancing measures remain critical to reduce SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant transmission.

Andre, you can call it a lie if you want, here is another reference.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr on Twitter: "A preprint paper by the prestigious Oxford University Clinical Research Group, published Aug. 10 in The Lancet, found vaccinated individuals carry 251 times the load of COVID-19 viruses in their nostrils compared to the unvaccinated. https://t.co/8FMkRKlT0x" / Twitter

Between vaccinated and vaccinated, not between unvaccinated and vaccinated.
Frankly pretty good evidence the vaccines are failing.

The study says "Viral loads of breakthrough Delta variant infection cases were 251 times higher than those of cases infected with old strains detected between March-April 2020." In other words, vaccines are more effective against older variants (unsurprisingly).

Right out of the gate, there are concerns about Mr. Berenson's credibility. From Wikipedia:

Early in the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Berenson vocally argued that people and the media were overestimating the risk of the new virus, that it posed little risk to young Americans, and that it was being used as a cover for government overreach.[2][26] Many public health experts have rejected his claims.[2][26]:1

In May 2020, Fox News announced that Berenson would host a TV show called COVID Contrarian on its online streaming platform Fox Nation. However, by July 2020, amid surges in coronavirus cases across parts of the United States, Fox News appeared to have backtracked and removed the announcement of his show from its website.[27]

In 2021, Berenson tweeted that COVID-19 vaccinations had led to 50 times more adverse effects than flu vaccine. PolitiFact rated the claim "mostly false".[6] The Atlantic called him "The pandemic's wrongest man", owing to his false claims of the vaccine's ineffectiveness

Obviously, this bit of information, by itself, does not undermine the concern you raise. But the credibility of the source is one factor in assessing claims.

The truth is never alone, other prominent virologists and doctors are raising these points.
Their is no vacuum of information out there, there are ideas and evidence in competition and people make conclusions, true or false, but you can not expect them to be the right decision as we can not know until the future happens.
For me I err on the side of caution. I then can certainly know I wont be hurting or dying due to a particular vaccine when there are alternatives.
My entire objection to the covid vaccine rests only on the mRNA vaccines, that is it. (unless bad info gets out on something else)

The Jansen vaccine is less concerning as it is more like getting infected with covid through an adeno viral vector., in that case the adeno virus substitutes for the real covid virus. And the Novavax vaccine also looks good to me, mid 90% effective against all covid variants.

Here is the fundamental problem with these debates. None of us, presumably, have the knowledge and expertise to assess the complex science at issue here.

So, naturally enough, we resort to various papers and statements generated by the real experts.

So here we get a reference to a paper that suggests a problem with the vaccine.

Like many others, I do not have either the time or the motivation to delve into the details to try to determine if this paper is credible. However, I have discovered that it has not been peer-reviewed.

Let's be honest: It is at least possible that anti-vaxxers are uncritically googling for papers that support their position and then posting links with possibly misleading headlines, such as "may make the problem worse". Obviously, those of us who believe the mainstream pro-vax position would be kept going 24/7 trying to debunk such claims if, in fact, they are misleading.

But I will concede - other than the concerns that the paper has not been peer-reviewed, and that Alex Berenson has a somewhat chequered history, I am not in a position to refute the claim. But, of course, it needs to be conceded that your claim here may turn out to be misleading.

Ahhh yes, now wait for the law suits!

this is absurdity... Pfizer still has made themselves immune to lawsuits!!! If these pharmaceutical company’s don’t want to revoke their waivers, then this FDA action has no validity.

I am sure you know full well that doctors are overwhelmingly in favour of the vaccine. But, if you want supporting evidence, here is one recommendation from the highly reputable Johns Hopkins Medical School

Yes, we recommend that everyone who is eligible get vaccinated with one of the three currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines. We view all three vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna and Johnsons & Johnson) as highly efficacious for preventing serious disease, hospitalization and death from COVID-19.

I believe this bit about "who owns the sites" is misleading. We all know straight from the mouths of the experts (e.g. on TV interviews and print interview transcripts) that they (the experts) strongly recommend the vaccine. You seem to think that everything the experts say could have been distorted by some intervening third-party. Well, this is certainly not the case when an expert is being interviewed on TV and directly makes a recommendation for the vaccine.

All the pro vaxxers on this board love to dispute and make disreputable all the various websites and posters that are anti-covid vax.
I would never challenge the credibility of anti-vax source without at least doing a little research.

And let's be clear: not only is the credibility of the source a relevant matter, it is arguably the most important issue since, for obvious reasons, none of us are qualified to make our own case for the position to which we subscribe.

That is the nature of humanity, some take up one POV, and opponents take up the opposing POV.
And each side claims the moral and accurate high ground,
I politely suggest this is misleading way of characterizing this debate - and I see it often. Given that the weight of scientific evidence and opinion is massively on the pro-vax side, it suits the anti-vax position well to try to frame this issue as if it were simply a matter of differing "points of view".

The reality is that the hard evidence overwhelmingly supports the pro-vax point-of-view, at least right now.

but the only reality is what actually happens in 3 to 5 years from now.
I have noticed one poster here calls the other side, false, and sinful, because they are exposing their side's POV.
Indeed, what happens 3 to 5 years from now does matter. And, as I suspect you know, the position of most qualified experts is that this risks down the road of not getting the vaccine far outweigh the risks of getting it.

And your last statement is also misleading. When people systematically misrepresent facts, this is indeed sin, no matter whether it happens on the pro-vax or the anti-vax side of the argument. So one cannot lie and distort facts and then claim "this is just my point of view".
