Board member is wrong on abortion

For anyone that doubts the depravity of the human mind, just study abortion and the reasoning behind abortion. It's a truly eye opening experience.

It saddens me deeply that Christians are ok with this. I'm horrified by it and I pray daily that God will forgive this country and longsuffer this activity.

I agree with this post 100%. This poster is out of control. It reminds me of the famous 2004 phrase, "I was for abortion before I was against it." It is beyond my comprehension that any Chrisitian would post such ideas. This is one of the very few black and white issues of all things discussed on this board.

Your last thought really bothers me. The Lord puts a stop to such rampant sin in His timing, and it has been going on 36 years.

I am in agreement with everyone on here about abortion, before this thread even started. My purpose in this was to create debate and have people think, a little bit out of the box, since so many of you are in the box(right vs left, lib vs con). But there are women out there, christian and non christian, dealing with some very real and very tough situations. You can argue till kingdom come but nothing will change on this issue. People will be divided, women will continue to have abortions, adoptions will continue but politicians and government-whether GOP or DEM- will not stop abortions. Only Gods spirit and love will. Im finished with this thread.

Why do you excuse this particular murder because someone "feels compelled to do it"?

If someone needs money and "feels compelled" to kill someone in order to take their money would you excuse that too?

If someone thinks that another treated them with disrespect and "feels compelled" to kill the offending party would you excuse that too?

What is your moral framework for the conclusions that you reach?

I'm all for getting people to think, and all for thinking for ourselves. There's room for discussion on this or any topic. It isn't a case of "agree with me or else". I don't object to any of that.

What I object to is the implication that there's no thinking going on just because everyone generally concurs that elective abortion is morally wrong. Changing one's moral convictions isn't necessary just to think outside the box.

I don't beleve it's appropriate to play the devil's advocate just to spur debate. That's actually a form of flaming.

Before you go, some in the box thinking for you to chew on. 2 wrongs committed does not make anything right or righteous. Even in cases of rape and incest the child is not the wrong to be punished by death. No woman has any right to make that judgment, only God does.

Sin always complicates things.

The consequence and complication are the result, not the problem to be solved by more sinning.

There is only one remedy for sin:
Repent and confess Jesus.
Be prayerful and vigilant, studying the Word, and watchful and avoidant of temptation.
If sin is on the horizon.... flee in the other direction. If trapped, then take a stand, fight where you are and endure to the end. Put no confidence in your own strength but trust in the Lord who is your promise.

If one falters, then confess and repent immediately and make no attempt to justify or get sympathy with excuses..... it is God who judges, justifies, and forgives, Trust Him!

You may not think so ..... but this obsession with LE appears to be harassment and flaming. I doubt if any of us are 'experts' as I don't understand your use of that descriptive.... but this is not a topic which needs an 'experts' opinion' to know when right is right and wrong is wrong. There is one absolut authority in this matter and we are all under Him..... and his word says Thou shalt not murder. That's enough authority for anyone.....

If you don't already know LE's posistion, then, it is doubtful you would ever understand though she repeat post after post in response.

Several of us have patronized these little stories you've set up for discussion..... to no avail..... as you see..... it has not changed anyone's posistion. Just because the common law appears to have moved (speaking here of secular society's acceptance and lack of judgement or prosecution) doesn't change the absolute law from which common law is based. But compromise to agree with man's law is a disrespect of God's authority and opposes him just as surely as the tower of Babel, or eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge.
