Here in the Southern U.S (North Carolina), my general impression is that he is a typical politician that often flip flops of the conservative variety, and that he is a bit further right than May, but not as far right as Thatcher.

(For those in the U.S I believe "far right" in the UK would be "Mitt Romney/McCain" here.)

Regarding Brexit, my understanding is he was a fence straddler that only jumped on the Brexit side once it was a slim majority.

My personal opinion of him is that he is at least better than Corbyn haha. I think that Johnson is far enough "right" in the UK where he and Pres Trump's views will at least have some overlap on many issues. I think May's views were more like Hillary's and thus May and Trumps views had minimal overlap.

I hope our Special Relationship strengthens though. Many of my ancestors, like many Americans, came from Ulster (scots-irish), Ireland, and Cumbria/Northumberland. As such we consider y'all in the Old Country as family!

I have been following this. Johnson is receiving real pressure from Nigel Farage's new Brexit Party. The Brexit Party can cause the British Conservative Party a lot of headaches. If Johnson does not deliver on Brexit by the end of October, Farage will oppose him. Johnson could be looking at a short term as PM.

Not too impressed with Boris Johnson myself, but he's the Brits problem now, I think he was a much better mayor of London than the Muslim in there now, and I heard Boris compared to Trump and Toronto's Ford - wild past, passing physical resemblance.

I know Boris promised Brexit by the fall, deal or no deal, but Boris was also instrumental in the failure of Brexit under Teresa May. I guess time will tell, just wish Boris Johnson was a seriously practicing Christian and his faith would stop coming and going,

Ford was on a completely other level of hilarity than just about anyone else in current politics.

I hope that he is better than May. Trump has 6 more years. Johnson has to tiptoe around the rich Germans and decide what to do with Iran and China. The UK has no Bill of Rights and does have a high-tax welfare state. Reform does not seem to be in the UK vocabulary. The UK tried to help Hillary get elected so I doubt if Trump has much enthusiasm but he will do what is right. Europe may become a Tower of Babel before North America does. European problems are self-inflicted under German leadership.

His real name is Boris Ivanovich Johnsonovich, a Russian agent born of Russian parents who became English through subterfuge. Putin is now running England!

His speeches & Newspaper columns are designed to promote himself, rather than practical & national policy.

Johnson has a history of lying, particularly by the method of making up false statements -
e.g.
When an Iranian/British wife & mother Nazanine Zaghari-Ratcliffe was at the Iranian airport on her way home from visiting her parents with her baby, she was arrested for alleged spying. Johnson as UK Foreign Secretary stated that Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe was training journalists in Iran. That lie confirmed the Iranian case & resulted in a long prison sentence still being served.

He's in the process of a divorce - from his second wife, not just Europe. His marital infidelities are public knowledge, including a row with his current lady friend which disturbed their neighbours to such an extent that they called the police & were able to record the row.

About 10 years ago, when the Labour Party leader Blair resigned as PM, his close associate Gordon Brown was elected leader by the Party & became PM. Johnson was vehement in his objection that an unelected leader should become PM ..... Now Johnson is our unelected leader.

We need honesty in our national leader.

Hey, I thought that you were an Obama guy. Won't Germany tell the UK what to do?

I read i-news which is a newcomer to the news-stand & is basically polically independent.

There's his appointment of an MP forced to resign after secret meetings with a foreign country's leaders.

A number of his newly appointed Cabinet ministers have very dubious records also. A series of articles here.

Everybody will tell us what to do - but I'm certainly not an Obama guy. I'm an independent baptist Christian.

The Brits conspired to elect Hillary, who is a total liar and who took $145,000,000 from the Russians. The Brits still like her. Did you get your tankers back from Iran? The world has changed and Europe has lost power to jihadi psychopaths. You can either beef up NATO or you can go it alone.

Britain & the US destroyed Iran's democracy 60 years ago & put the Shah in power.

I am not "the Brits" & am not party to a conspiracy. The only thing British about the tanker was the flag - not the ship, not the oil, nor the crew. And "we" pirated an Iranian tanker first. The US unilaterally cancelled the nuclear deal with Iran to make trouble & the rest of us are caught up in Trump's reversal of Obama's deal.

I'm happy to go it alone. War is massively expensive, & maintaining a nuclear weapon capability is spending vast sums of money on weapons that if they are used will make our planet uninhabitable. The money spent on weapons would be better spent on peace - active aid to restore the devastated countries that the refugees come from.

Have you noticed Johnson's plan for an amnesty for all the 500,000 illegal immigrants here - they're living & working so make it official? I approve. The previous policy to which meant children of Caribbean immigrants who came with their parents 60 years ago were declared illegal & refused pensions, NHS, etc, which as employees they had paid for all their working life. Many have been sent to their countries of origin.

If you want to call Jimmy Carter an idiot, no one has any objection.

If you want to say that jihadi psychopaths are the UK's best friends, i would only ask how long before they rule you with an iron fist?

You would think that women would avoid this guy because of his numerous failed relationships. At some point it should become obvious that he is the problem, not the ladies.
