Bush Lost the War in Afghanistan and We now need to accept that

Bush could have finished the job in Afghanistan but at a critical moment decided to pull troops out for the invasion of Iraq. He later said that he was no longer interested in capturing bin Laden. We need to forget appeasing the republican war mongers now and pull out.

You need to move on. Really. You remind me of someone who is divorced and keeps talking about their former spouse forever. It's over, get over it. Bush is no longer President. Obama is President now.

And we have not lost in Afghanistan yet.

Another nonsensical thread by "whoever" similar to The Pentagon "Lost" $2.3T in One Year under Rumsfielf. Poor fellow needs some serious counseling!

"Lost"?, the war in Afghanistan is still ongoing. In fact, President Obama has deployed upwards of 20,000 additional troops to Afghanistan.

This sounds like that drunken, incoherent Bear Bryant rant they insist on playing on the video screen at Tuberville-Denny Stadium before games.

Roll turd.

Will use some common sense for once in your life? Bush is gone. No one in this thread thinks he was a particularly good President. What is it you are trying to prove? Why not move to another former President, say, hammer Ford for being clumsy, or Nixon for Watergate. It would be a refreshing change from Bush.

You are in serious need of a high school American History and government class.

He could beat on FDR for prolonging the GRRReaT Depression, better known among democrats as HOOOver times, for 7-8 years until WWII intervened and then Obama for replicating the FDR policies that prolonged HOOOOver times such as increasing government spending and raising taxes. Next Obama will be burning crops!

Quit feeding the troll

Aww.. but it's fun!!!

Besides...I think this is the first thread that he has EVER disagreed with Obama...

Obama doesn't want to pull them out.. Alatide does!!!

It's a miracle... I have been wondering if Obama had invaded BB!

Look at the poor troll living under the BB bridge. No Jr., don't feed him or he will cough up another asinine thread blaming Bush or telling us how the conservatives have destroyed the United States.

Actually you need to move on. I don't have to accept an extension of yet another Bush war started for no reason. This is now the third longest war in American history.

Vietnam War–August, 1964 to April, 1975= 129 months (American involvement began in the late 1950s, but major U.S. combat forces began taking part in large-unit combat in 1964. August, 1964 is the month of the Gulf of Tonkin incident and the U.S. bombing of North Vietnamese targets.)

American Revolution–April, 1775 to September, 1783= 100 months

Afghanistan– October, 2001 to Present (as of March, 2008)= 78 months

Iraq War–March, 2003 to Present (as of March, 2008)= 60 months

U.S. Civil War–April, 1861 to April, 1865= 48 months

World War II–December, 1941 to September, 1945= 45 months

World War I–April, 1917 to November, 1918= 19 months

Korean War– June, 1950 to July, 1953= 37 months

War of 1812–June, 1812 to February, 1815= 32 months

U.S.-Mexican War– May, 1846 to February, 1848= 21 months

Spanish-American War–April, 1898 to August, 1898= 5 months

Gulf War–January, 1991 to March, 1991= 3 months

---------------------------------------------------------------------

It's longer than WW1, WW2, and the Civil war. Just exactly have we achieved in the last 8 years. Please don't say made America safe from terrorists. That's not true. We can't even prove that bin Laden was involved in 9/11. Bush said that capturing bin Laden was no longer a priority. Would you fight and die in this war? I certainly wouldn't.

I believe you posted this list. I didn't. But I'm glad you're beginning to see the real GW Bush.

No outsider EVER won a war in Afghanistan

About 65 years ago the first book I can remember reading in school was about Afghanistan. one statement was to the effect that no country had ever successfully invaded Afghanistan. The LOVE fighting and are happy as a clam when foreigners give them a new target.

The war in Afghanistan was never winnable - if winnable means making Afghanistan a governable nation by 21st century standards. The British Empire and the Soviet Empire couldn't do it and neither can we.

What we won was destroying al Qaeda in Afghanistan and that should be our only interest. We need to pull our troops back to the population centers, do what we can for the next 15 months for the people in these cities, and then pull totally out. We can destroy any al Qaeda training camps that may pop up there(if they dare) via drones/bombs/missiles. There is no good reason to keep our troops in harm's way past 2010.

OK, It made America safe from "enemy combatants" who cause "man-made-disasters".
