By what standard do you think we're going to be judged before the tribunal of Christ?

For deeds done while in the body.

That is exactly what I stated to FAL.

Adedman said," Love is the essence of the believer that makes even the thorns attractive on the rose bush of the believer's life."

Is there a scripture reference for that? :)

No, that was this adedman's original uninspired reflections.

"The greatest of these is love." :)

Luke, welcome back.

I would agree that we don't really make a choice TO BELIEVE God's revelation.

Once someone is revealed the clear truth of God the only CHOICE to be made is to acknowledge it as the truth or to trade it in for a lie.

Those who perish do so because they refused to accept the truth and so be saved. So, the active CHOICE is not to ACCEPT or BELIEVE it, for even the demons believe. The active CHOICE is to reject what you have clearly seen and know to be true or to act in accordance with the clearly revealed truth. This is why their condemnation is well deserved and they truly have NO DEFENSE.

What you stated would agree with John 3... "They that believe not are condemned already..."

But in the case of the ability or capacity to believe, isn't that illustrated more by the sower and seed parable?

The sower scattered the seed and some in the sallow and rocky, but they didn't have any ability to sustain that seed to full growth.

Only the predetermined, prepared ground was harvested.

So, doesn't it seems that, as illustrated pertaining to the dirt and seed, that unless there is some regenerative work (ground preparation) done, the seed will remain "condemned already?"

.... and cut out pop(around here we call it pop, everywhere else, it's called soda). I drink Dr. Pepper 10, Sprite Zero, or Coke Zero, and Cherry Coke Zero for my pop intake now. ....

In Texas its called Coke.

Person 1: "Hey, do you want a coke?"

Person 2: "Sure"

person 1: "What kind?"

Person 2: "A diet pepsi, thanks"

Share scriptures.

Sure. It's all about doing and deeds and works:

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother. Lu 18

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. Lu 10

14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the Way which they call a sect, so serve I the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;
15 having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust. Acts 24

for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified Ro 2:13

6 who will render to every man according to his works:
7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:
8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,
9 tribulation and anguish
, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek Ro 2

for all of us it behoveth to be manifested before the tribunal of the Christ, that each one may receive the things done through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil; 2 Cor 5:10

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. Jn 5

33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
36 naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink;
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.
46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life. Mt 25

No, one is judged eternally by their works.

The only way for one to be a doer of the law is to have the law written upon their hearts. These works are then done by nature.
Apparently you think there is a difference between being saved and eternal life?

Apparently you think the two are synonymous. Show it to be so by scripture.
Show sozo to be synonymous with the acquisition of the free gift of eternal life.

That's what I was implying when I asked why did he go away sad. He was not saved. Yet kyredneck says he was. :confused:

You have to take a look at primitive baptist doctrine. Hyper-calvinism as some call it. We do nothing, heavens sakes, we don't even preach, we sit back and if a feller does some good work, gives to the poor, visits a person in prison, that means Christ is in them, and is proof of salvation. It's the Gospel on auto-pilot.

[Snip - Inflammatory], nothing could be further from the truth.

It's evidence that God has wrought within them. By their works they show what they are.
