rc, [personal attack snipped]? I in no way read the Apocrypha, or "Thomas" or anything said to be the Bible except for the 66 books of the Bible. You are doing a very good job of [edited] when you don't know anything.

God's will is that all should be saved. That is what the Bible says, no? Funny how you are so quick to take "hate" literally but not the MANY verses that teach the things us HERETICS believe. I am no longer going to discuss this with you. Your ad hom attacks and twisting of what I say are clear signs that I should not waste my time.

To say I don't know anything about the subject is wrong. I know why the Reformation started. And I also know that Calvin was a murderer. And his "not saying much about it anyway" is irrelevant. You call me a heretic because I won't "put my trust" in a murderer's words.

As for the Bible and teachers...another ignorant charge from your keyboard. I believe in teachers...I just don't believe in yours. Because I think they were heretics...turning God into an evil monster and twisting obvious Scriptures such as John 3:16 and countless others. Teachers, yes. Your teachers, not a chance.

I have a question for ya. Why are you so concerned that I turn back to Calvinism and not that I am a Christian BROTHER? That fact is slightly disturbing to me. Two thumbs down...and for all you Calvinists...two means two.

    To King James.
    Sire.
Why does an Arminian think having a Calvinist nickname is  ?
God is a Despot and the Despot of all despots.
A charge refuted and only brought up by the [snipped] I'll be bound. Given over to say that which is lies. [snipped personal attack not allowed on board]
So you expect me to trust the words of John Calvin, a murderer? [Personal attack not allowed on board snipped]. Your circumstances are not an excuse to lash out wildly.

john. keeper of the King's conscience.

First of all...I don't know why this was snipped. Maybe when people quit calling me a heretic I won't "lash out wildly".

Johnp...I have my name because I have my name. It comes from knowing some people before that were KJV only. Are you happy...now will you lay off? Thanks.

    Hello dianetavegia can I object?

It was not personal but true.

A man that complains about harse words as he uses them is.

It is also important to warn those who charge falsely because the punishment fit for the charge is visited on those who do.

    Thanks.

Johnp...you have proven yourself to be one who is not worth discussing things with. Find someone else to argue with.

Neither brother complained to me but our rules do not allow questioning of someone's salvation nor the use or implied use of some 'cuss' words.

Personal attacks are also not allowed.
    Idiot
    Hell bound
    Chronic depraved soul

Posting Rule #4: 4. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. The board has an edit button enabled. We encourage you to use it and edit your own words. Moderators and Administrators will be visibly proactive in dealing with potentially offensive situations.

    BTW.... I'm a firm non-Calvinist.

Diane, that's fine. Accepted. I thought I had to defend MYSELF...now I know that there are moderators out there who will do it for me. [IMG] Therefore, I don't have to make any more personal attacks and none of my words will be censored. This is a good thing.

    Hello King James.
I'm sorry but I only argue so that your statements do not go unchallenged for weaker brethren to trip over. I do not mean to change your mind but as riposte I try to refute error. Spiritual warfare don't you know?

I don't usually reply to a post as 'so and so says' but I say 'hello so and so' so would you like me not to say hello to you in future but use the device 'so and so says'?

    Sorry King James,
But I am NOT calling you a heretic. Just the church councils that our protestant faith comes from does. Unfortunately you don't like that, well... change to historical Biblical truth and you won't have that problem. You can call me a heretic all you want, but the funny thing is, you have NOTHING to back that up. NO councils, no synods... nothing but self-taught, layman's understanding. You would be wise to study the history of this debate and find out what your belief is based on.... It's not the Bible... but on Greek, humanistic philosophy.

rc...a church council that believed as John Calvin (the murderer) calls me a heretic? You're right...I didn't like that. Now...I just don't care. God bless.

    Johnp...huh???

Bang goes your grammer again KJ.
Good. A little less sensitivity covers a multitude of sins for all of us I'm sure.

Johnp...you don't seem to get my sarcastic nature. Besides, I grew up a mile from the states and they say "huh" a lot. [IMG]

As for your second comment...true. That does mean you will be a little less sensitive as well eh? Just because I say something about John Calvin does not mean I'm a hell bound heretic who has personally attacked YOU. [IMG]

    Hello KJ.
To be accused of naivety is a rare and wonderful thing?
That means you are Mexican, Canadian or a fish.
Call me what you want just don't call me late for dinner is a motto I like.
Those who charge falsely receive the punishment due to the crime. All the documents involved with those proceedings are a matter of record and are freely obtained on the web. Make sure of all things is another motto of mine.

"Call me what you want just don't call me late for dinner is a motto I like."

LOL johnp...I say that often myself. And yes, I am from Canada.

So...would you care to direct me to these sources that show Calvin not to be a murderer? Thanks.

    Hello KJ
i was wondering where that was

i'll get on it later man
i did a bit before work this morning

    http://history.hanover.edu/texts/comserv.html

above is the complaint against Servetus

i am not defending Calvin but I object to an unfounded charge against my brother
not that it bothers me but for the accuser I will

It has been often asserted, that Calvin possessed so much influence with the magistrates of Geneva that he might have obtained the release of Servetus, had he not been desirous of his destruction. This however, is not true. So far from it, that Calvin was himself once banished from Geneva, by these very magistrates, and often opposed their arbitrary measures in vain. So little desirous was Calvin of procuring the death of Servetus that he warned him of his danger, and suffered him to remain several weeks at Geneva, before he was arrested. But his language, which was then accounted blasphemous, was the cause of his imprisonment. When in prison, Calvin visited him, and used every argument to persuade him to retract his horrible blasphemies, without reference to his peculiar sentiments. This was the extent of Calvin's agency in this unhappy affair.

But if he was guilty what does that mean? The saints are not saints you know. The family of God has it's naughty ones too you know if you know anything about the saints.

Diane, what interests me anout the "rules" of the Baptist Board, it, that there is a stronger emphasis about personal attacks, but attacks on God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, are "allowed", since they are seen as "theological"? This is very disturbing, and I have voiced my concerns to some of the other staff of the BB.

And you were answered. If we edited for theology, you would never be allowed to post. :D ... Aren't you glad that what I perceive as attacks on the God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit aren't edited? I, quite frankly, am tired of those who would remove God from his throne and replace him with depraved humanity. But I will allow you the opportunity to make your case, so long as you do it in a kind and gentlemanly way. Theology has never been a criteria for editing, provided you are within the general scope of orthodox evangelicalism.

Larry, how can you ask if I am glad, that what you perceive as attacks on the Godhead, were not edited? Indeed, any attack on God should deeply offend any true believer, and I am staggered to see that there are many things said that are quite blasphemous about God, and are left without a remark! We are living in very sad times, where Christians don't really care whether their words or actions offend God.
