Can a Christian be a Mason?

Jim, I think perhaps you have been buying the disinformation that Freemasonry is actually secret. I have never had any offical contact with Freemasonry (I didn't join), but I didn't have any problem getting first hand information. Besides the usual expose type books by Christians who have left the Lodge, I have personally talked to former members and present members. I have read books penned by Masonic authors for Masons (got them from public libraries). I take what they say about themselves seriously, unless you think they have all somhow conspired to lie to me in a very similar manner.
To answer the question. Masonry is satanic. If you were to visit a meeting you would probably go away snickering at grown men playing "club" like little boys. But, I assure you that the prospect of teaching a different way to heaven than Jesus Christ is anything but funny.
My church has no stand. They are either afraid to "hurt someone's feelings" or don't care.
I would leave if they explictly said it was OK.
I love my church and don't want to leave becasue of their tacit approval.

When Paul states "before God" and "With God as my witness" that is completley different to the masonic oath wich you pledge death upon yourself and other hideous acts. If you should reveal any of their secrets. One being the fact that you must participate in rituals to the Egyptian God Osaris in order to move up certain degrees.
Jesus told you not to swear oaths. Freemasonty requires you to publically swear a binding oath upon yourself, an oath that is extremley Unchristian and Unscriptural. If you take the words of Jesus seriously, you will soon see that you cannot be under this or any man made oath. You will need to repent, which means choosing.

It's a religion, folks. Any religion that isn't Christian, even it it accepts Christians, still isn't Christian. It is a false religion and no Christian has any business being a part of it.

Every Sunday in the fall and winter 66,000 people in St. Louis and the surrounding area "tithe" $39 to $47 to worship their Rams and their high priest, Kurt Warner (who is a Christian). They arrive hours before the service to fellowhip with their brother and sister Rams fans. Tens of thousands more faithfully follow the worship service on on TV, while millions every Sunday tune into their local "services" from the Meadowlands, Pro Palyer Stadium and Arlington Stadium. I, myself, am often a participant in this worship. Sports is the true religion of America, but you all go ahead and worry about this handful of old men meeting in secret and enjoying a chili dinner together once a month. I can see they are the true threat to Christendom. SARCASM ALERT!
If the Rams or any other Major Sports team depended on me to survive they would have to play in my backyard on Sat. Afternoon.
Should I have gone for the Chiefs? I didn't check to where New Bloomsfield is. I think you see my point though... the stadiums just keep getting bigger and America has become addicted to sports, obviously not everybody, but there are a lot more serious Sports Addicts then there are Masons. Maybe I am more sensitive to it because I am a high school coach and I se the way pro athletes are literally worshipped.
