Its bound to happen. Although Evan, I think, would be shocked at how much he agrees with me on.Weird. I agree with Evan and not Iconoclast. I guess it was bound to happen.
Still be a Christian?
I mean, one who told a lie TODAY!! Are they one who has allowed Christ to change him? Or her?

Our depravity is so great, it blinds us from seeing how truly sinfully vile we really are compared to our Holy YHWH. Thankfully we don't see it all, otherwise we all would be in so much agony we would commit suicide.
Personal opinions are fine, we all have them.
The purpose, at least one of them, of our indwelt Helper is to convict us of our sin.

All Christians and all heathens are liars, we are all liars. That's why we need a Savior, we can't attain to 100% perfection, God will settle for nothing less than 100% perfection, He will not wink at one single sin.
Christians can commit an act of sin.
The OP asked can a person be a LIAR.......and a Christian the answer is no. ALL LIARS GO INTO THE SECOND DEATH...Rev 22
if a person practices any sin to a point that sin characterizes them....a liar a murderer a thief a gossip.....they will perish because they have not been regenerated.
Christians can commit an act of sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
I think liars fit in here as well. Some of us were liars, but we were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
True, but we are all still liars, but not habitual liars, in other words, we all do sin and repent, and I guarantee we all will have unrepentant sin when we die, because we don't see all our sin, our ONLY hope will be in our beloved Jesus the Lamb of God.
Brother, please explain this statement in light of 1 John 1:8-9 which was written to believers.
I see what you are saying. My thoughts, however, are that when we call someone a “liar” then we are defining them by their sin while a Christian is defined by Christ. So I’d say that we were once liars, drunkards, etc. Now we are sanctified. I don’t see how it can be both ways (how we can be defined by our sin and still be sanctified and justified), even though we do still struggle with sin.
Certainly......Christians can and do sin. When they commit any sin they are to repent and forsake whatever sin was commited.
That being said....a person who is saved cannot habitually practice sin to the extent that he is characterized by that sin.
