Incredible...but NOT unbelievable

Oh come on.... now your being obtuse & I will give you a perfect example.

I have been married to my wife for 25 Years & knew her for 3 yrs prior to our marriage. An hour ago I put in 3 CD's .....1 is a Bach CD, 2nd is John Coltrane (Jazz with lots of soprano sax) & 3rd is Dave Brubeck's Greatest Hits also Jazz with a favorite song of hers "Take Five" . I set them to play in that order because I know my wife. She was a DJ at the University of Miami in the 70's & her taste in music is 70's 80' & some 90's contemporary rock & she has developed a Motown taste (Temptations, Al Greene, Smokey Robinson & my favorite....Marvin Gay). Well I start the player & I just know she will tolerate Bach & even like one or 2 movements---they are, after all pretty music.

Then the player moves to Coltrane. By the 3rd song she is at the machine turning it down....sax riffs get on her nerves, so I come outa the office & raise my voice.....Honey, what are you doing? Thats John Coltrane!!!! Yea I know, she tells me but the bass is too loud. Thats her way of appeasing me.

So when I come into the kitchen to get some coffee, I say to her....."ya really dont like Coltrane do ya" & she replies ..... no no I like it.... then I shoot back, "come on Pam.... your full a Sh*t, ya really dont like it, admit it" ..... she brakes into a laugh....no no I like it, but.....

Well now, you could consider this conversation a vile series of lies by my wife (where I consider it Discretion) & you could consider me a degenerate cur for saying a, Heaven forbid, filthy cuss word directly to the woman I love....right!

Seriously though, it was just harmless banter between two people who love one another. You see it one way apparently & I see it another.

E,W&F....In WHAT part of God's entire universe and in accordance with what, IF ANY part of His precious Word could you POSSIBLY believe that ANY of what you just said about your carnal language OR the carnal music of this world (except that you love your wife) is pleasing to our Holy God and honorable in His sight? IF NONE OF US had been present (but now we ARE because you told us about it...) then God would have still been there anyway. Even if we weren't He always IS! Do you really believe any of that is pleasing in His sight? That is the question we all need to ask ourselves about the things we say, do and allow. Are we pleasing to God? That's all I got to say about it. I'm convinced that much of what we say and do is PROFANE in God's eyes EVERYDAY. Thank God for His Mercy and the Blood of Christ and what it covers.

It is entirely possible to have high, strict standards of conduct, but still be respected by the lost and still reach them for Christ.

God's way has always appeared to be unrealistic to the majority. But His strict standard of conduct is HOLINESS. And we are to be HOLY as our Father in heaven is HOLY.

And there simply is nothing holy about cussing or profanity.

The lost respect that standard because they are looking for genuine people who live as though they truly believe what they are preaching. They aren't looking for perfect people. Just for folks who strive for perfection because that's what a Holy God demands. And they know this.

That's one of the reasons they term most Christians as hypocrites because they see folks living and speaking and doing the exact same things that they do.

By contrast, holiness demands that we be set apart.

I applaud the strict standard because that standard is God's truth.:godisgood:

Folks, I'd like you to notice something. EWF said some very strong things here. To be honest, I was quite shocked! (Still am!) I didn't think he was this kind of person, the insulting kind. (Still hope he isn't, and that this was just an aberration from the emotion of the moment.) Yet he didn't use one single taboo word, swear word, or "potty word"! (Even though I'm sure he wanted to.)

You can communicate effectively and even strongly, with great impact, without using taboo words. Thanks to EWF for proving that. :tongue3:
