OK, that's one. You have 40M uninsured to go. This is about helping the needy.
As you can see, alatide would rather the government help folks than the church.
How sad is that?

Something like the love that you show daily on this forum towards those on the "Right"?
Especially like the love that you show daily for George Bush?
The pot calling the kettle black.

The difference is the church talks about helping while the government actually does help!

If this is so with your church, then you need to find another church.
You cannot make a blanket statement about that without proof - and I can show you by my own church that this statement is a lie.
I can also show you how the government does NOT help where the church can.

Are you saying that your church will only help members? What about people who don't go to church, non-believers? Where do they get help?

Perhaps you should be looking for a new church.
Helping the unchurched is a great way to spread the Word.
Couldn't be more wrong on both counts.

The church couldn't possible provide the kind of help the government can because there are so few that are willing to give sacrificially to support those in nee. Just look at all the far right Republicans here. They wouldn't give a dime to help the poor.
We don't ask to see anyone's "saved" card to receive help. Does yours?

Oh? I'm a "far right Republican" and I've done a ton to help the poor from housing people, to feeding them, to paying bills. What have you done? Oh that's right - the government will do it.
Can't you right-wingers get anything straight? It is unlikely that people who have no interest in church would seek them out in an emergency. These are the ones I am talking about. If not the government, where would these people go?
