Yes most of Church history people did not believe in evolution. Instead they were a supersticious lot and convicted Gallileo for pointing out Cappernicus theory that the earth was not indeed the center of the Universe.

I've been called simple minded for believing in 6 literal days, but I really don't mind :) But I do wonder how it is that people think that science isn't to be questioned as much as beliefs should be. Science has been responsible for many horrors in times past, but doesn't seem to get such a bad rap.

Superstition ain't of God anyway ;)
