The truth is, Cathode, the Blood is applied as Paul describes it in Col. 2, our spiritual rebirth that water baptism symbolizes.
“
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in
order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
So Christ’s death on the Cross is associated to us through Baptism.
That’s why Peter says.
“
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins”
The merits of Christ’s work on the Cross is given to us at Baptism, our sins are forgiven at Baptism.
This makes sense of Peters other words “ Baptism now saves you” and “ It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”
You don’t believe Baptism saves you. You don’t believe in Baptism for the forgiveness of sin. You said it.
This is not Scriptural, you have gone off Script.
If you put Peter and Paul’s writings together, they both associate Christ’s death on the Cross with Baptism.
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21
and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—
not the removal of dirt from the body but
the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.
It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” 1 Peter 3
“
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in
order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
So Baptism now saves us, our sins are forgiven at Baptism and it clears our conscience toward God.
See the beautiful symmetry of Scripture, God be praised forever. Paul and Peter are both saying the same thing of Baptism.
Baptism is not symbolic, it “saves you” as scripture states.
At Baptism our sins are forgiven, it clears our conscience toward God.
You denied these clear Scriptural teachings.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.”
What was the message.
“
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins”
You denied that sins are forgiven at Baptism, saying it’s only symbolic and does nothing.
