Chris Temple, long-time beloved BaptistBoard member and moderator went home to the Lord this evening.

We are joyful for the testimony that he left with us, and in the knowledge that he is now in the literal presence of our most precious Savior.
He will be missed! Our prayers remain with his family, friends and loved ones.

His favorite verse was 1 Timothy 1:12 "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry."

I feel saddened at Chris's loss. I have exchanged dialogue on the board with him before and e-mail once. He was a fine Christian gentleman.

I mourn the loss of Bro. Temple, but I am glad to have the hope of seeing him in Heaven one day. I thank God for this blessed assurance.

In Christ,

I never knew him, but the brief notation on the opening page, is a fitting tribute to a brother graduated to His presence.

Cheers, and prayers be with his family.

My sympathy to Chris's wife and family. May God give them strength; to hold them up, and allow them to move on.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Chris' family. I know they have been through a lot and how difficult it is.

And our loss is real and tangible here. Chris' presence on the BB during the first year was a blessing and encouragement to us all.

We all thought of Chris as a young pastor with great promise . . and are reminded that our plans and ideas are not God's.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Subject: Funeral services for Chris Temple

Dear friends,

Arrangements have been made for funeral services for Chris. The first will held Tuesday, April 1st at 7 pm, Ligonier Baptist Church in Ligonier, PA and Thursday, April 3rd at 11 am, Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. He
will be buried in Raleigh.

Roberta and Kailtin are doing fairly well. As you can expect, this is a difficult time for them, but God has been faithful to sustain them and to communicate His love and presence to them in intimate ways. God is good, all the time.

Reminder of contact information:

"...and now it's time to lay your armor down and pass the torch, but you're a hero of my faith, a strong soldier of the cross".

It's amazing how someone most of us here have never met could have such influence on our lives and emotions. The spirit in him definitely was strong and capable of being effective by whatever method of communication Chris used.
I'm thankful for the time he spent with us, and look forward to going home myself one day! Can you imagine the joy?

A Song for Chris:

He's gone the spotless soul is gone
Triumphant to his place above;
The prison walls are broken down, The angels speed his swift remove.

And shouting, on their wings he flies,
And goes to rest in paradise.
Hosanna ! Hosanna ! Hosanna to the Lamb of God !

Glory, glory let us sing ! Grateful honors to our King !

Hosanna ! Hosanna ! Hosanna to the Lamb of God !

Saved by the merits of his Lord
Glory and praise to Christ he gives;
He now enjoys the full reward
The joys of heaven he now receives.

The life he lived while here below
Is proof that he's at rest we know.
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna, to the Lamb of God !

My only knowledge of Chris was through his posts on this Board. They reflected a knowledge of the word of God and a love for our Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless his family in this time of grief.

Thank you for the great tribute at the top of the page.

I echo everyone's sentiments, especially Saggy Woman's.

I never knew him personaly, but from his posts, you could tell he served God with his heart. Here is something I wrote for him:
Precious in
the sight of God was the death of this dear saint,
who though trials
was given, he never did faint.
Now I imagine he shouts in his new home, safe with our Saviour, never to be alone. Though we miss him here today, it's with assurance I can say, when Jesus calls us home, far beyond the sky, we shall meet him there, on our home on high.

I'm truely sorry for his family, and I pray God would give them special grace during this time, yet I'm happy for Brother Chris, because he has reached the most wonderous part of our Christian journey -home! I can't wait to see him, and all who've gone before when God calls me home!
