Christ rose after sundown Saturday, which to the Jews of Judah, who still reckoned the day from sundown to sundown, would have been Sunday, the first day of the week.

The northern Jews had adopted the Greek reckoning of midnight to midnight.

So, for both to understand He arose on Sunday it would have had to be past midnight.

I better and better am beginning to understand why you are a Roman Catholic, Utilyan; you simply do not regard the Scriptures or the purity of the Scriptures or the UNITY of all the Scriptures.

Here what is relevant, is the pure logic of Paul's statement, "If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are yet in your sins", in regard to the Sabbath.
If your faith is (or were) that because of the Law, the Sabbath remains for the Christian People of God and NOT because Jesus "is raised", "ye are yet in your sins"!

I fail to see any argument at all but only an assertion that makes no sense at all.

Christ did not rise on Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening as the precise of his resurrection is the fourth watch called "proee" in Mark 13:35 which Mark using two the aorist tense verbs in Mark 16:9 says that Christ was raised and appeared to Mary at "proee" or the fourth watch of the night which would have been between 3am and 6am Sunday morning. The two aorist tense verbs show identical action which is located in "the first day of the week" at the precise time of "proee" or the fourth watch.

Please don't come back your lame interpretation that Mark 13:35 refers to four parts of a 24 hour day instead of four watches between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m unless you have Biblical or Jewish cultural evidence for that at the time Christ spoke Mark 13:35.

Your argument is based upon proof texting paste cut hermeneutics. Hebrews 4:3-4 in context has nothing to do with 1 Cor. 15:17. The argument being set forth in Hebrews 4:1-8 is that belief in the gospel or spiritual rest in Christ (Heb. 4:1-2) did not do away with Sabbath observance, neither did God entering into the Seventh day rest at creation cause sabbath observance to cease, neither did Joshua who gave them rest in the promised land, cause sabbath observance to cease, neither did David terminate Sabbath observance by giving them rest from all their enemies around them. Then we come to verse 9-10 where he makes his case that the work of Christ on the cross did not cause Sabbath observance to cease but provided a better Sabbath that commemorates his greater work of redemption as God commemorated the work of creation by setting apart a Sabbath observance. This better sabbath observance that commemorates the finished work of Christ will not cease until we enter into the future promised eternal rest in a new heaven and earth (v. 11) that fulfills all sabbath observances.

He is not arguing that God had to violate the Seventh Day Sabbath by working on it - raising Christ on that day. Christ rose on the first day of the week and set it apart as a "better" sabbath observance free from all the Law's regulations but as a day of rejoicing and gladness and worship - Psa. 118:24.

What I see is the point of Paul is resurrection is necessary to demonstrate Christ has been victorious over sin and death regardless of the day he rose. It is not the day he arose but the fact that he arose is his point or else we are still in our sins as there is no victory over death by resurrection

Already proven your interpretation of Matthew 28:1 is corrupt as opse is used by mark for the first watch of the night between 6-9 p.m. which is AFTER the Sabbath not late "on" or "in" the Sabbath. Your only response thus far is your personal opinion against the weight of scholarship that unitedly states Mark 13;35 refers to the four watches of the night between 6 pm to 6am of which the first watch is called opse.

How do you come to that conclusion? Please can you spell it out more clearly how you can even come to that conclusion. 1 Corinthians 15 only demands resurrection regardless what day it occurred as it is resurrection that is proof we are not still in our sins, not what day he rose.

The KJV has "when Jesus was risen" from Aorist Participle 'anastas', English equivalent "risen" / "raised" / "as the Risen One Jesus appeared"---"appeared" the only Verb and or Predicate in the only Sentence making up 16:9a.

Hebrews 4:3-4 is simply one part of a series of arguments to prove that Sabbath observance did not cease when we enter into the spiritual rest of the gospel (Heb. 4:1-2). It did not cease when God entered into his rest after creation of this heaven and earth (vv. 3-4). It did not cease with Joshua bringing the people into the promised land of rest. It did not cease with David when he gave them rest from all the enemies around them and it did not cease with the greater work of redemption by Christ as Christ set apart his own day commemorating redemption - the first day of the week - as a BETTER Sabbath day observance because it is without all the legalism of the Law, which better sabbath observance will not be done away until it is fullfilled in the eternal rest to come (vv. 11-14).
