Thats it. The mockers were making fun of the Christians, implying that they were drunk and not really drinking new wine at all. Say it in your best sarcastic Homer Simpson voice, and throw in a 'wooohooo' for good measure.

When the plain meaning makes sense, seek no other sense.

"You're drunk on new wine."

"No, we're not, it's too early in the day."

What? They weren't accusing the new wine of anything. They were accusing the Apostles of being drunk. Apparently, being "full of new wine" and being drunk were the same thing, as Peter understood it! New wine, then, was obviously known to be an intoxicating beverage. It's the Word of God, like it or not.

And the Word of God has already proven the Sinless Savior to have abstained from alcohol like it... or not!

It has also proven the men accused of drinking alcoholic beverage in that upper room were not... like it or not!

No, you have proven that you will not believe the contrary short of divine intervention.
The only thing you have proved is that you would do anything than to admit you are wrong about anything.

As I am sure you noticed, Conservative did not do any help by twisting the Word as He did. As a matter of fact, He showed how to what extreme those who drink alcohol and those who enorse alcohol will go to to justify it. But God's Word says, 'Thou art inexcusable, O man.'

"His Blood" has bore false witness against me. A clear violation of one of God's Ten Commandments.

I have consumed no alcoholic beverage whatsoever, whether it be wine, liquor or beer---since 1983.

In fact, I don't even drink coffee, tea or soft drinks! As a person who follows a health food regimen, I drink NOTHING but water, 365 days a year!

Nor have I suggested anywhere in this thread that people should start drinking.

However, it is obvious to any intellectually honest person, that Christ and the Apostles drank WINE, NOT "GRAPE JUICE", with their meals.

Which is clearly NOT a sin, so NOBODY is claiming that Christ sinned.

I have not bore false witness against you at all.
Your statement here shows you indeed are telling people it is ok to drink alcoholic beverage:

Conservative Christian, Nice avatar! I really like it!

Thank you, Pastor! :tonofbricks:

Did you read where the Lottie Moon Christmas Fund set an all-time record for donations, with over 150 MILLION dollars received?!

That will mean at least 200 new overseas missionaries! Hallelujah!

Abstinence isn't enough for you is it?
A person must devote there life to alcohol destruction like some sort of Carrie Nation or they don't seem meet with your approval.

The Word of God says we are to be conformed to the image of His dear Son.

Since Jesus did not drink alcohol, we are to follow His example.

Yes, you bore false witness, and you are clearly twisting my words.

I stated the cold, hard fact that Christ and the Apostles drank alcoholic wine. I said nothing more. That in no way, shape or form can be construed as an endorsement.

Your intellectual dishonesty is un-Christian.

You accused me of being a consumer of alcoholic beverages in your previous post, which is definitely false witness on your part.

You are in denial of your own sins, while falsely accusing others of sinning. You rail about a splinter in the eyes of others, while conveniently ignoring the full-grown Redwood tree protruding from your own eye.

Oh, and God's Word says, "Thou art inexcusable, O Man, whosoever thou art that judgest." If you're going to quote the Bible, quote a whole sentence and not just the part that suits your fancy.

Amen, I don't know the circumstances but God will provide for the Gospel to go wherever He wants it to go!

If you're not familiar with the Lottie Moon Christmas Fund, it's an annual fund drive the Southern Baptist Convention has among its member churches. The proceeds go toward funding the SBC's International Mission Board, which is responsible for all SBC mission work outside of the USA and Canada.

The SBC-IMB also has funds for international hunger and disaster relief, as well as numerous special funds for specific projects and disasters around the globe.

HBSMN did not say that you drank alcohol. Here is exactly what he said:

He showed how to what extreme those who drink alcohol and those who enorse alcohol will go to to justify it.

notice that word 'and'?

it separates those who drink, and those who endorse drinking.

He did not accuse you of drinking.
