Allan,
Regarding 'Sheperds Chapel...
Hmmm. Thats interesting. Are you sure you are talking about the same guy?
Yep, without question. As I said, I lived 10 miles for it and my friends mother WAS (she was..) his personal secretary. Not to mention those whom I have met. It becomes a most interesting bible study when people who are listeners to him come into the group. They have some the most messed up understanding of salvation, grace, Christ,ect.. and their being there ends up in one of two ways. You are either a false teacher because you do not line up with him or they stop cold turkey listening to him because scripture (in context) completely refutes his teachings.
I'm not a devoted regular viewer, but I watch quite a bit just before hitting the sack and I've never heard him deny any of those sound doctrines...nor teach the "serpent seed" doctrine.
Have you ever heard him 'teach' those on even on those 'sound doctrines'??
I know for a fact you wont but don't take my word for it, just call, email, write to them to ask about his view on this so you can research it. They will tell you 'no'. As a matter of fact they will not send you anything concerning their beliefs, but will tell you to listen to his broadcasts or look at their VERY vague statement of faith.
Secondly he also condemns the coming together of what he calls 'so called churches' is not scriptural. The telacast is his way to comminicate to his church/group in TV land. They do however get together for a pinic once sometimes twice a year at his special place.
Thats not good, if he teaches that. Again, though...I've never heard him teach that.
Again, have you ever heard him preach on that subject?
He will typically hit it only when he is going through Gen. or when Jesus says that the pharasees were children of Satan, this stems from his belief that Cain (Kenites) was the product of Eve's and Satan s*xual relation and that 'this' is where the part of the Jewish people came from and thus his understanding regarding the wheat (children of Able) and tares (children of Cain) will be sifted to get out God's chosen group who was not tainted with satans seed.
Wow. I dont know how I could have missed all of this stuff. Maybe I'm just catching the 1st hour or something, before I drift off to sleep, and all of this stuff comes later.
How often do you hear Mormons declare that God was once a man just like and that we too can become gods? You don't unless the topic is brought up by the present scriptural passage they correlate to it, or you bring it up. Since Sheperds Chapel will not allow you to bring it up to be discussed you will only hear about it when he comes to places in scripture that he feels deals with it.
Like any other cult, they do not speak often of those views that openly contradict scriptural teachings though they do speak of them when as the need or teaching requires.
Either that or their are 2 Arnold Murrays. Are you talking about the Arnold Murray from Gravitt *???* Arkansas?
No, there are not two Arnold Murrays who telacast as the pastor of Sheperds Chapel out of '
Gravette' Ar. (of which I lived in Sulphur Springs, Ar. about 10 miles North of it - and 5 miles from the Mo. state line)
