Is not the “judge not” passage specific to condemning one to eternal condemnation, rather then one not engaging discernment in matters of knowing with whom to associate?
Yes, but is not stating that another one who claimed to be a fellow christian is not just due my standards falling under that>

I would agree that it is in our humanness to condemn.

To me, the focus of that passage should be on the second part of the statement.

That unlike the religious rulers, of His earthly time, who would not keep their own man made laws, believers who build up “standards” and then judge other believers or who is “right with God” by those standards will be judged according to those same standards.

In other word, unlike the inconsistency of those in the audience of that day, the Lord will look for consistency or repentance in us.

Remember the old time saying"save for the grace of God, there go I"

I am well aware of the failures in the RCC.

I was merely mentioning the Lord’s ability to redeem even of the occultism.

In a previous post I urged "You should also pick up a newspaper and read of the worldwide sexual abuse of children by this satanic church."

Did you happen to read the news today?

Actually, I’m surprised that any abuse is such a big news item.

I am not defending abuse in ANY manner, but making the observation that abuse is not something that is new.

Absolutely disgusting it is that abuse has gotten a pass with a node and wink, but I find it more disgusting that some are pretending to be alarmed or in some manner surprised at the revelation.

How do folks think excess and debauchery can thrive without abuse being practiced?

Sorry for the rant, but too long perversions have been given license.

Sadly the church may often tolerate abusive behavior, not just sexual abuse, but physical, mental and spiritual abuse. Judgmental leadership that disciplines, not in loving truth, but in power mongering, controlling, and berating abuse. Pastors who will not submit themselves under Godly counsel or pick persons who will support their bully personality. Mark Driscoll comes to mind as well as a thousand other pastors who think lashing the sheep is being a loving shepherd. Pastors of small congregations who are big fish in a small pond who lord it over the flock. Such judgmental leaders will be held accountable to God for their abuse of God's sheep.

You are correct. Sexual depravity is nothing new in the Roman Catholic Church. Rebukes regarding such illicit behavior among its hierarchy and clergy maybe found in the Church Councils beginning in AD 325, the First Nicaean Council:
Canon 3
“The great Synod has stringently forbidden any bishop, presbyter, deacon, or any one of the clergy whatever, to have a subintroducta dwelling with him, except only a mother, or sister, or aunt, or such persons only as are beyond all suspicion.”

A subintroducta was a female disciple. Clerical fornication was frowned upon, even when disguised as prolonged holy Bible studies. It exposed the hypocrisy of the religious orders.

The Third Lateran Council AD 1179:
Canon 11
“Clerics in holy orders, who in open concubinage keep their mistresses in their houses, should either cast them out and live continently or be deprived of ecclesiastical office and benefice. Let all who are found guilty of that unnatural vice for which the wrath of God came down upon the sons of disobedience and destroyed the five cities with fire, if they are clerics be expelled from the clergy or confined in monasteries to do penance;”

Fornication, sodomy and pedophilia were ever problematic in the Church of Rome. Such grievous sins were public knowledge, causing a backlash by its citizens who held to biblical moral principles.

The Fourth Lateran Council AD 1215:
Canon 14
“That the morals and general conduct of clerics may be better let all strive to live chastely and virtuously, particularly those in sacred orders, guarding against every vice of desire, especially that on account of which the anger of God came from heaven upon the children of unbelief, so that in the sight of Almighty God they may perform their duties with a pure heart and chaste body.”

Again, sodomy and pederasty persisted back then, as it persists to this day. Further proof of God's sovereign hardening judgment.

While a person's personal faith or religious beliefs can be an incredibly private affair, there are just as many people who love to openly discuss their religion with others. In fact, there are more than a few Christian celebrities who speak candidly about their faith system, and how they found the Christian faith during some pivotal and transformational moments in their lives. From how they have learned to trust God during difficult times to how they share certain inspirational Bible verses with others, these famous Christians are happy to give an inside look into the religious aspect of their lives.

Perhaps these stars are so willing to be open about their faith because they know they have such large platforms that allow them to reach a wide variety of people. Maybe discussing their religious leanings is just a way for them to be more candid with their fans. Then again, since many actors, musicians, and athletes have credited their success to their faith in God, it's common for their religion to just organically come up when they discuss their achievements.
