Harold,
As far as I know you are KJVO.
To add or change the word of God for you, in order to accommodate the word "Christmas," would be the equivalent of you throwing away your KJV Bible and picking up either a TLB or a NEB, both of which are paraphrases, and using them instead. Is that what you are willing to do?

The more post Harold makes, the more tenuous his grip with reality becomes.

Harold, when you argue with a brick wall, who usually wins?

Ok, so everyone doesnt define Christmas the same and you cannot make everyone else isnt subject to your pagan definitions. I define Christmas accordiong to Luke 2.

Truthfully no one is going to argue that. Define it anyway you want. Celebrate it anyway you want. You have that liberty just as all Baptists do--soul liberty. What you don't have is the liberty to change the Word of God and insert Christmas where it is not found.

My definition is the Bible example of the actual event. I am at liberty to believe the Bible. Seems there is a bondage being expressed here by others to cause same to think to the contrary. MY resource is God's word. Others are relying on other resources than the Bible. ONE IS BY FAITH which pleases God. The other Pleases men. THE evidences couldnt be any clearer.

Your OP in your own words was this:
Should we have the term in the Bible? Isn't it a relative term by event and descriptiopn that a modern reader should have it in today's version?
The answer is: No, we should not add or subtract from the Word or God. We should not be putting English words into a New Testament that was written in Greek. The word "Christmas" never existed in the first century, just as the word "computer" never existed in the first century. Why insert either one? It is wrong to add to the NT. The Mormons add to God's revelation with the Book of Mormon, and you would be doing the same thing by adding to God's revelation even if you add a single word like "Christmas."

Your idea is worse than the Catholic priests wanting to burn at the stake anyone who translated the Bible into anything other than Latin! HOW DARE YOU COMPARE Luke 2 to the book of Mormon!

Really?

I must've missed seeing anybody comparing Luke 2 to the BOM. :wavey:

And, um, what's really so wrong about burning alive anyone who dares change the words of the King James, Torquemada?

Of all the silly threads i have read on here (some of which I started) this may be the silliest.

Maybe we ought to nominate the top 10 best and/or worst threads.

Would not be fair. Harold wins all 10 worst hands down . . .

Yep, spose so, if you attack the KJV you get pats on the back. If you're labeled KJVO and you show where we get modern words from scripture you get attacked by the administrator. Then again, why even be surprised, its the baptist way!

Why stop at Christmas? We could also modify the verse in Matt 11:28 to say "Come to Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest on Labor Day."

Notice I quoted the KJV to make it official.

If you're so miserable here, then don't go away mad...just go away...
