God not being the author of sin,

I do not find fault in God of the sins of men, including "God being the author of the sin" which crucified His Son on the cross.

I see the crucifixion of God's Son as by the Determinant Counsel and Foreknowledge of God, as He says, "Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:" Acts 2:23.

God does not commit sin.

from: What Does the Bible Say About Jesus Did Not Have A Sin Nature?

1 Peter 2:22
He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

1 John 3:5
You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.

Romans 8:3
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

1 Peter 1:19
But with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

Hebrews 9:14
How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

We all believe God is sovereign.

We just have to be able to explain "the Determinant Counsel and Foreknowledge of God".

I thank God that He has given me eyes to see and ears to hear His entire Word, the Holy Scriptures.

your theology excluding that God responds to man

When there is the appearance and seeming indication, to us, that "God responds to man", it is evidence that the occurrence had been Predestined by God.

Note, “according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself” and “according to the good pleasure of His will.”

He hath made known the mystery of His will.

This will is God’s predestinated purpose.

The gospel is a declaration of what God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have done to procure and secure the salvation of all those whom God chose before the foundation of the world and gave to His Son to be their surety.

There is nothing in the gospel of Christ about God responding to man. That is espoused in man-based false gospels.

Nope. You really are stuck on elevating creature-man up on the throne, @JonC.

Scripture tells us what the gospel is. Too many are content to preach about the gospel that they never actually get to sharing the gospel.

I haven't said anything that would elevate man.

I have said that God will react to human action in that:

1. God will punish sin.
2. God answers prayers.
3. God will judge the wicked.
4. God will hold us accountable for our words.
5. If we repent God is faithful to forgive.

You reject those points as elevating man. But the real issue is you have been carried away by vain philosophy to the point you ignored God's Word because you think it uplifts man.

“Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:18)
Everything is predestined.

But at the same time Scripture presets God as punishing sin, judging the wicked, answering prayer, and faithful to forgive. All of that is a reaction.

I am not saying we get rid of divine sovereignty.

I am saying that we don't have to reason away verses that have God reacting to man.

It is wrong to reduce God to just a powerful man. That is what Ken is doing. But His ways are not our ways.

I'm saying we can simply accept Scripture - God is sovereign AND God answers prayers.

You were once dead. Did you hear?
What does scripture say happened?

*Ephesians 2:4-5*
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Jon, the Bible tells us the answer.

I agree. So God CAN make the dead hear.
