Also, not sure why are you siding with the guy who is spewing propaganda for the enemy. It's really bizarre how people will stick with this guy even though Baptist Believer tore his premise to absolute shreds on the first page.

I think CarPro is siding with this moron's right to be an idiot and say dumb stuff. I don't think he's siding with the content of his Facebook posting, just that the guy has a right to post it.

As noted before, leftists do not believe in free speech, unless they agree with it.

You bear that out.

Well that's just it. His freedom of speech wasn't infringed upon so no, I don't bear that out.

You can either educate yourself on freedom of speech and the identified limitations or you can just keep repeating yourself while double downing on ignorance. Good luck.

He, like most, is an at-will employee. His employer can fire him for whatever reason and no reason if they so choose as long as it's not something( disability, gender, etc.) protected by law.

He thinks he was fired because of the letter. All they have to say is "we just felt like it was time to fire you" and they'd be within their legal bounds to do so.

Judging from his posting history let's just say I have my doubts.

It is a private school - so looks like they can.
Actually, he request to resign so he would not have a firing on his record.

Wonder if there was a policy about that letter?

I think he was, too, and that's what this coach said the school said. But all he did was to take some old email and post it on his FB personal page. Someone from the school saw it and fired him for it.

Why would he want to work there anymore anyways if the school overreacts to any little PC slight? It was a private school and they were well within their rights to dismiss him but this should serve as a cautionary tale on how FB and other "new media" can be dangerous to use.

Or the dangers of posting false information in order to demonize a certain demographic. Everybody seems to be glossing over this fact for some reason.

And this is what I keep telling young and old folks. You post that stuff and it can follow you for a long time. Folks think they are just reposting something witty and then the wrong person sees it and they realize it probably wasn't the smartest thing they've ever done.

A short and sweet take down of the ramblings of an idiot with a myopic world view.

Ask yourself this one question .... was this insult (ramblings of an idiot) really necessary?

Yes, it was a valid response, and it was great you picked up on it, and gave this brother the kudos for his comments. Even so, you destroyed all your excellent insight by pulling out the insulting narrative that you, and a group of others, always seem have on hold, just waiting to use against your opposition, in order to demean and degrade those with whom you don't like. It has nothing to do with disagreeing, and all smearing another with insults! And that is a shame!

Is this coach an active member of the Baptist Board? He is the person I was referring to as an idiot. Take your hypocritical nonsense elsewhere. You exist in perpetual conflict on this board and it is quite rare that you own up to your faults. Instead you project the blame to everyone else because it couldn't possibly be RD2.

Employers have been asking for information about a person's internet postings for a long time. Some employers will want to know not only Facebook but all message boards, etc. And then they will use it against you in order to fire you if they can. Bosses twist words in order to make a pretext to complain about an associate.

You are very correct when you say, "...this should serve as a cautionary tale on how FB and other "new media" can be dangerous to use."

Okay, you already addressed it. I started to and figured, what's the point?

The three of you sound like little old ladies holding a gossip fest.

I pray the mods allow you three to continue your worldly penchant to gossip....

Admit it .... you guys probably pray for my demise.

You guys are just unbelievable. The epitome of those who rush home from church on Sunday morning in order to gather around the table to enjoy a large helping of "roast pastor!"

This little two page gossip fest is as eye opening to others as my words were to your group. Happy Easter.

Now go eat some "smart'ning up pills!".

And associates forget that they don't live in isolation. If you're gonna say or post things that may be objectionable to your employer, be forewarned.

Had the coach considered that maybe, just maybe there are Muslims on the staff or administration or enrolled as students to whom this is an obvious affront?

Exactly. But you'll never get a leftist to agree. Any kind of speech they disagree with must be punished.

He surely has a right to post it. And the school had a right to fire him because of it.

Agreed. They could also have fired him for the clothes he wears away from school, or the way he keeps his hair, or if he crossed his eyes when upset.

That doesn't make it right.
