Researching this fiasco comes up with a scattering of "facts" but so far they have turned out to be 'he said", "she said", "they said", blah, blah... with no documentation (fabricated or otherwise); no emails (doctored or otherwise-they are incredibly easy to doctor); no videos (edited or not).

I expect something tangible will come forth. HOWEVER if experts can prove the "evidence" is doctored or a fabrication - goodbye Mueller never to be seen again.

Remember when Dan Rather released a fake ANG memo degrading George Bush the younger? Goodbye Dan.

Whatever evidence Mueller releases will be put under a virtual electron microscope.
Knowing that I believe he is terrified of being caught red-handed with phony goods without which this whole thing will fizzle out.

But if they can damage the presidents persona with all this chest thumping and bellowing that's good enough for them (though it could backfire on them).

Time will tell.

My opinion.

‘A Criminal President’
“It’s a big day, it’s a bad day,” said John Dean, former White House counsel for Richard Nixon, on the implications of Cohen’s plea on Trump and his presidency. “I think we’ve established today that we have a criminal president, and that is historic.”

If Trump knew about the payments and that they were illegal, he could be charged with violating election law for accepting illegal payments and not disclosing them, said Paul S. Ryan, a campaign finance lawyer with Common Cause. Current Justice Department guidelines state that a sitting president cannot be indicted, and that any wrongdoing should be referred to Congress for impeachment proceedings. Those guidelines aren’t binding.

Noted liberal law professor Alan Dershowitz said there was no crime committed. It is not illegal for a private citizen to pay hush money to a woman he had an affair with. So keep dreaming, President Trump is not going anywhere for the next three years at the least.

Cohen should have known better. He did nothing wrong except hire Davis, who is gloating that he lost the case. I would not trust Lanny Davis any farther than I could throw him, which wouldn't be very far at all. He might as well have hired Bill Clinton himself since Bill would be an expert in the type of person who was blackmailing Trump.

Lanny Davis has been the attorney for the Clinton Crime Family for the last 30 years.

He wasn't convicted--he plead out. What exactly was the crime?

The way I understand it is he plead guilty to something that's not a crime. Not sure how that works.

Bottom line is democrats will go ballistic, but there nothing there that hurts Trump or implicates him in a crime.

Yeah, that's what I understand, too. Lanny Davis lied to Cohen in my opinion. Cohen said what he did was illegal but it isn't. If Cohen is that dumb, let him go to prison. We have too many lawyers anyway. Loyalty is more important than cleverness. A guy like Trump must have a lot of lawyers.

You can read his plea deal here.

Read Michael Cohen’s plea deal

Cohen was charged with five counts of tax evasion from 2012 to 2016, one count of making a false statement to a financial institution from February 2015 to April 2016, one count of being a “willful cause” of an unlawful corporate contribution from June 2016 to October 2016, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution on October 27. 2016.

Cohen pleaded guilty to all of the charges, including failing to report $4 million in taxes. He said he violated campaign finance laws in coordination with and at the direction of an unnamed candidate — presumably Trump — in coordinating payouts to porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, both of whom alleged to have had affairs with Trump. He said he acted for the purpose of influencing an election.

The federal crimes that he has plead guilty to committing are:

1) tax evasion
2) making a false statement to a financial institution
3) being part of an unlawful corporate campaign contribution
4) making an excessive campaign contribution

He is a lawyer. He knows what those crimes are and whether he has committed them or not. He knows the evidence they have is overwhelming. The plea deal is to get as light a sentence as possible. It shows he is not a fool in denial of reality.

He is not an expert in the law because he got suckered by Lanny Davis and let's hope that he finds time to study in the big house. If Dershowitz says that it was not illegal to pay off a porn star, then it is not illegal. However, if Cohen wants to go to prison, let him. My guess is that Cohen will appeal and appeal and weasel out of his foolish plea.

He took a plea deal. There was no jury. There was no trial.
Right. I confused Cohen's situation with Manafort's. That doesn't change the fact that Cohen pleaded guilty to 8 federal crimes in a NY courtroom and faces 4-6 YEARS in prison.

As with Watergate, the real issue might very well be the lies and cover-up.

Why would he do that? He still faces 46 years in a federal prison. You don't understand it correctly.

It wasn't covered up very well. The notorious porn actress, who was stripping in Columbus, Ohio, in some joint there a few weeks ago, told everyone that she had an affair with Trump and got tens of thousands of dollars from his lawyer to keep quiet. Now she is talking about running for office on the Democrat ticket. I don't see how the Democrats can deny her a nomination, do you?

"Even if Cohen did plead guilty, Federal Elections Commission chief, Bradley Smith emphatically assures voters, “no – such payments are not considered campaign finance violations by the FEC.” That is why Mark Levin calls Cohen’s lawyer, “a dummy.”

Referring to Cohen’s lawyer, Levin remarks, “the general counsel for the Clinton mob family, Lanny Davis, he had his client plead to two counts of criminality that don’t exist.” In order to be a “campaign expenditure,” the expense “has to be something that exists only because of the campaign and solely for that reason,” Smith had clarified. Otherwise, it is “personal use.”

“You are a dummy, Lanny,” Levin slammed. “By making payments to two women for the principal purpose of influencing an election. If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen they why wouldn’t they be a crime for Donald Trump?” Because “they weren’t a crime for Michael Cohen.”

Real felonies are the ones that people like Cohen plead guilty of or people like Manafort are charged with. What real felonies did Hillary commit?

Cohen is a street smart lawyer. I think it's ridiculous to think he took a 4-6 yr. prison term hit lightly. Another example of fake news by the far right extremists.

She's already been found not guilty on all of those counts. I mean a real crime not a false one you keep repeating.
