    Afternoon Everybody,

It's been awhile since I've been so late getting in here. I've been posting recipes in the Recipe thread and it takes a while. Please let me make up for it by bringing in a late-supper for all the night-owls:

Farmhouse Chicken Dinner, Roasted Green Beans with Onions and Peppers, and Apple-Pecan Cheesecake or Easy Autumn Pear Cake. Enjoy. It's just me and the grandkids tonight{I have the only kids on the planet who don't like grilled cheese, and mac & cheese], so I'm making Country Salsibury Steak, Cheesy Smashed Potatoes, Cookies and Cream Pudding.

    Good morning all,

Brent has a teen activity at church every Thursday evening. Last night as he was getting out of the truck, he slammed his thumb in the door! It isn't broken, but it sure is smashed and very painful. He went to sleep holding on to a bag of ice.

He will be camping out tonight and tomorrow night, with his Boy Scout troop, at the Railsplitter Festival. He is responsible for cooking a meal in a large cooking pot over an open fire (think 1800's). I sure hope he is able to take part!

He announced last night that he must be a man because he did not cry. I told him REAL men never stopped crying. It takes a strong man to show his pain to others. God gave men tear ducts just like he did women. It's too bad more men don't use them...

    Enough of my philosophizing.

    HAGD!

    Good Mo--Aft---Evening Everyone! :D

I've been a busy bee on this somewhat cool day. Ha! It was really cool this morning, less than 60 when we got up. Then the temp sloowly climbed till it ended up above 90! It's been nice though.

I've been moving furniture up to my Dad's lake house and grocery shopping all day. Now I have 5 kids in my house. Seems I've gone from bad to worse today. LOL!

Poor Brent! Cassie says she feels his pain. I crushed three of her fingers in the hatch of the Rendezvous while we were on vacation this summer. It was just one of those freak things. I thought everyone was clear and shut the hatch just as she started to catch her balance by grabbing the side of the opening. Not fun!

    Evening all,

Brent is safely installed in the Boy Scout tent at the fairgrounds and he will be giving the cooking demonstration tomorrow or Sunday over an open fire. He is making Cabbage Patch Stew with dumplings...

They are staying there until Sunday afternoon, but I told them I would pick Brent up Sunday morning and bring him back after church.

This feels like a vacation! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Going to take my Dramamine and get a good night's sleep!

    Pleasant dreams all!

(No, this is NOT a double post!)

    Good morning all,

Well, no phone calls during the night, so I'm presuming that Brent did all right sleeping in the tent. They had one large tent set up for all the boys to sleep in together.

He will be demonstrating his cooking skills, hopefully today, instead of tomorrow. He's supposed to call and let me know. He's braver than I am. I don't think I could cook in a Dutch Oven, over an open fire, where I couldn't control the heat!

I am looking forward to the Railsplitting Festival and all the 1800's crafts that will be demonstrated there. It's my favorite festival of the year and we have a lot around here!

I'd best get a move on. Shawna's car is broke down and in the garage so I have to take her to work this morning, then come back home and get ready for the festival.

    Time for coffee!

The festival sounds like fun, Sue!

    Good Morning Everyone!

In just about and hour and a half, T and I are testing for our senior green belts in karate. This will be our first time sparring as part of testing. T is pretty confident (it's a man thing!) but me? I'm not even sure that I can stay on my feet long enough to spar for two 1 1/2 minute periods.

But I've had my coffee! :D

Ya'll all have a good day and I'll check back in when I can.

Puff, puff, puff! We survived testing just barely! I'll know Tuesday if we passed. I'm really tired now though. My arthritic bones didn't appreciate being shaken up so much. Time for some advil and a football game.

:D Auburn is going to beat LSU this afternoon. :D I'm going to watch it and get some sewing done at the same time. I watch in my bedroom/sewing/computer room because I can't let T watch. Everytime he watches Auburn loses! So he watches something else in the livingroom. Today though he's starting a lift kit project on his Amigo. He's going to lift it 3 inches (he says).

Redoing old cars is the new hobby in our neighborhood. When T gets done with the Amigo (not an old car!) he's going to start on an old Jeep Cherokee he bought. It's got to be a man thing! ;)

LOL Pappy! I didn't say anything bad about LSU, I just said Auburn is going to win today. :D

Right this minute they are killing each other and no one has scored. This is always one of my favorite games of the year. :)

Guess I better say hello before the curtain comes down and crowns me..........Hello!

Busy as a bee doing nothing to-day, but I did a lot of it. So busy I didn;t even have chance for a kip.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    LSU: 3

Okay, all funnin' over, it was a great game and both teams put out a fantastic effort.

Hope everyone had as good a day as I---Jim has had! Can't say as good as me cause that would have meant you all had spent the afternoon under T's truck. LOL, I dont' thing we all would've fit!

Jim: You didn't even have time for a nap? However did you make it through the day?

I caught a quick nap this afternoon since Brent is camping and Shawna is working. It sure felt good too!

However, I am still sleepy, so I'm going to take advantage of everyone being gone and get to bed early - which doesn't happen very often!

    Pleasant dreams all!
