I used to watch Jimmy every week on TV, Jim.

Good morning all,

I'm glad we're having a picnic in the CH today because it's going to be raining outside where I live! I'm sure glad I made four gallons of sun tea yesterday. It's sweetened with Splenda and in the CH fridge. Besides the Bucket Salad, and tea, I'm also bringing a large round relish tray and a Strawberry Delight dessert.

See y'all later!

Brenda may get to come home today

Good Morning Everyone,

Sue and Jim must have been babes when they watched Jimmy Durante.

I finally got some good news, Brenda has improved enough that she may be able to come home today,or tomorrow. That's what I've been waiting to hear. Thanks to everybody for their prayers, and for putting up with my whining & crying all week.
I guess my life centers around Jesus, my Wife and family. I'm not wrapped too tight anyway, and when something happens to Brenda I tend to lose it.
Your support and encouragement have been incredible, and I'll never forget it, ever.

LEETT'S GET READY TO PAARRTTYY!!! Breakfast is made, hot, homemade cinnamon rolls, coffee, and tea. The rolls are calorie-carbohydrate, and gluten free. Nothing served at the party today has anything that can hurt you in anyway.

Come on in, set a spell, take your shoes off, and eat and talk, and sing to your hearts content.

I haven't felt like doing anything for almost a week, now I have my Wife back(I hope today), and want to celebrate the love, and understanding of my BB Family. BTW, you'll never see me put BB Family in quotation marks ever.

We ARE Family.

Why, thank you, Rob! And that is GREAT news about Brenda! We will continue to pray. :praying:

And you're right. Since my children and grandchildren are scattered over four states and we don't get to talk all that much, the BB has definitely become my family over the years - especially here at the Coffee House. :love2:

Results of Sack Race & Beauty Pageant

Afternoon everybody,

Brenda is home. There will have to be some adjustments, but I'll do that any day just to have her back.

The results of the Sack Race are in. In a surprise move, SUE edged out JIM in a photo finish. Jim said that preaching yesterday made him feel like a kid again, and he should have won. Sue congratulated Jim, then took a victory lap.

.The results of the Beauty Pageant are also in. Due to so many beautiful, and talented contestants entered, our judges were unable to reach a decision as to deserves to be the winner. ALL contestants in the Beauty Pageant are declared to be the winners. They are all crowned, and magnificent.:flower:  When their names were announced there was thunderous applause, and a few wolf whistles.

Bitsy is chasing her tail again, amid more wolf whistles. Dang, some people just look good doin' anything.

The food is ready, and the fellowship is in high gear.

I have the reason to enjoy life again, and I'm going to make up for lost time.

Ahhhhh! Rest at last!

We've been laboring on our labor day! Chris is getting new bedroom furniture (early, early Christmas present) because we found it on sale and it was what he wanted. It's coming tomorrow so we spent part of yesterday and all of this morning getting the old stuff out. And when I say old I mean some of his pieces have been around since T was a kid. It'll all out now. I'll clean the carpet sometime between now and tomorrow and he'll be set!

Food's great FoG and so is the good news that Brenda is home!

I've got orange pineapple icecream going in the icecream freezer, give it another 30 minutes though!

FoG, glad to hear Brenda got to come home! There's no place like home! Will keep praying for Y'all.

My back pain is almost gone, Praise the Lord!!

Looking at the calendar today though, I realized that the next shot is scheduled for the Tuesday before we fly to Vegas on Saturday. Wonder if I could reschedule!?!?

Hope to pop in more often this week!
Y'all take care.:wavey: :wavey:

Good morning all,

I am having problems posting again this morning, so I hope this makes it through.

It is raining here and feels quite cool. I had to grab a sweater! My daughter's car broke down about 80 miles from home last night and Dale had to go rescue her. She is sleeping on the couch so I haven't turned the TV on to see what the weather is going to be like today.

They will go up this evening and tow the car back here so Dale can try and fix it. Looks like I will have company for a few days. It's nice to know I'm still needed.

Good morning!

Feels like I haven't been here forever!

The girls are at school. Their first day.

There was a family there with their little girl, video taping her getting out of the car, walking up, etc., looking all teary.

And there I was...pulled up to the sidewalk and yelled "HA! GET OUTTA MY CAR CHICKIE BOOS!" and went home.

(ok but I also gave them the daily kiss and hug and have a good day thing)

I'll miss them though, for real. I'm always a bit sad taking them, and will go sit in the parking lot sometimes just knowing they're there.

On the other hand...I'M ALONE! And a few hours from now, I'll still be alone! YAY!

Figure I'll get a few things done around here and maybe work on my writing. I'm attempting to get all the writing done for the third part of a course that I couldn't get into this quarter in school, so I'll get it done now and then when I take it next time, I won't have to do any work. The instructor will most likely let me skip going, he knows my work. I might go anyhow because I enjoy the class though.

Have a good day. I'm gonna play a bit and then get busy. With nobody here to mess up anything I clean two seconds after I finish it.
NOVEL CONCEPT! And the floor...it can dry with no little feetprints. I'm gonna go before the joy has me spasming on the floor in ectasy...

I can relate, Gina!

I remember the first time I had to put my 'baby' on the school bus for Kindergarten.

I was walking around the house doing my morning 'pick up' chores all down in the mouth and sniffling.

Then I walked through the house an hour later and it was still clean!

It was then I realized the joys of having kids in school.

I've forgotten what it is like seeing the kiddies off to school. There was a school bus picked our girls up at the end of the lane. At the time, we had a huge sow that liked to follow us wherever we went, and she walked along the lane, waited for the bus and then walked back with me to her pen. I think kiddies going to school is training us parents to let them go when they get older.

We have been doing another search these past few days. One of my daughter's dogs is lost somewhere in the countryside. We have been searching by vehicle and on foot, but nothing. The last time she took off she was gone a whole week until someone phoned and said they had her.....hoping that happens again!

Then, I have a wife who still goes off to work and comes home for lunch. I get to make her lunch and then send her back to work. It is like having kids in school. She is threatening to retire,,,again,,this coming spring...we shall see.

Gina, I used to make notes everywhere I went....sermon notes....some of my better sermons came whilst seeing something along the motorway, stopping and making notes. It is the best way to begin writing, I think. Then to-day, I suppose one could use one of the recording devices.

Good day to all who happen by, and God bless.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim, I've tried using a recorder and it just isn't me!

Driving along and just looking though, that's very often inspiration.

Where I live can be very scenic, and there are a lot of triggers to inspire writing.

I posted one on here a bit back that came to me while I was walking in the shallow waters along the Rogue River.

There's so much contrast here. I think it's gotta be the perfect place for a writer! You've got the beauty of nature, deer and turkeys crossing the road, salmon jumping in the river and cranes flying over, the mountains covered in mist. Then there's the homeless out begging, sunburned hitch-hikers, little kids running around like gypsies dancing in parking lots and little kids in perfectly ironed matching clothes clinging and perfect manners walking stiffly beside their nannies.

Gotta love it!

Good Morning Everyone!

The day is piling up. I have a question: How is it when I have a whole list of things I'd like to a whole 'nother list of stuff comes up that I have to. It's just not fair! (whine for Gina who is certain be missing her children :D )

See ya'll later!

Gina,
I read somewhere that the majority of writers and artists in America are located in Maine. It has something to do with surroundings and privacy.

I can't imagine living in a city and writing...or maybe living in a city requires more imagination....

I am surrounded by woods and find that to be my secret place. Happy writing...there is nothing like it.

Cheers,

Jim

Good morning, §ue!

Uh oh, I've always heard that talking to oneself is a bad sign, so I'll make this post short.

OTOH, that's one way to get the answers I want...

Good Morning Everybody,

It's okay if you talk to yourself Sue, as long as you don't argue with yourself, and then lose the argument.

I was here all the time Sue. I'm just trying to keep a low profile after all my whining last week. 'Nuff said.

It's kind of cool here this morning, so I made coffee, hot (and cold) tea, Pancakes with sausage, OJ, and homemade, hot, cinnamon rolls. Enjoy.

Brenda has Doctor's appointments today, so I'll be in and out (physically...not mentally, uhhhh well...let's not promise too much:laugh: )

Gina, I used to do some writing back in my "salad" days when I was "tossed to and fro", nothing compared to your level to be sure. I enjoy your musings, they're thought-provoking, revealing real insight into what most of us overlook, or choose to ignore. You open your heart so we can open our lives. Thanks for sharing your gift.
