Good Morning Everybody,

Happy to hear you're feeling better Sue. Why can't we get over these things like we did when we were younger?

I'm still laughing from the editorial cartoon in today's paper. It shows 2006[as an old man] running, and shouting toward the baby 2007 while there is an explosion in the background. The good news is Angelina Jolie is going to adopt you! The bad news is Britney Spears is going to drive you to her! ROFL!!

I brought in Omelets a la Fritz[four eggs-salt pepper-1 Tbsp.tarragon butter-2Tbsp. cream-1/2 tsp. minced shallots- 1/3 cup whole almonds-and 20 fresh mushrooms. Some times I'll fold in apricot jam at the last minute] with hot biscuits. Enjoy.

We're having some friends come over to watch football. We're having dips and appetizers, and at the end of the game Pot Roast Sandwiches au Jus[from the crockpot].

My two favorite teams are MICHIGAN STATE and
whoever plays MICHIGAN.

Time to finish up then enjoy some good company, and football.

LOL! I start to say good morning and then realized that it is already past 1 o'clock! I will instead wish you a good afternoon!

This morning was spent drinking coffee and watching the Rose Parade (my favorite :) ). Now we're catching the last half of the Cotton Bowl. Auburn is ahead at least for the moment. Yay!

the ham is in the oven, but since it just made it there we'll be eating supper not lunch! We're sticking with the southern tradition of black eye peas and greens (cabbage) to accompany it. I may mix up a quick pasta salad too. Dessert is bread pudding with whiskey sauce.

Last night was red beans and rice with some Louisiana transplant friends of ours and fireworks to end the evening. The adults outlasted the intended audience: about a dozen kids aged 4 to 16. They got cold! Not to cold to run in and out of the house playing hide and seek! The heat in those red beans was enough to keep me warm!

I'm having to share Cass' computer again today as T has a paper to write and has mine occupied. (My computer and his share a moniter and keyboard to save space) Please excuse typing mistakes. I try to catch them but sometimes the combination of kid and crumbs is too much for me.

Ya'll have a good day!

Happy New Year!!!!

Cindi, Auburn won the Cotton Bowl!

Sue, as I was reading about your Centerpiece, I had the idea of putting some things inside the box for embelishment that could be taken out and arranged around it by the recipient. That way it would be protected during shipment.

Good morning all,

It is a crisp 24º here with a hard frost on the ground. I was up most of the night and had just gotten to sleep good around 3/4:00. It seemed like only a few minutes later that my oldest daughter, Laurie, stopped by on her way back from spending New Year's with her brother, Pastor Bob, in Arkansas and woke me up! I did not WANT to wake up. :BangHead:

Anyway, this was just a 'pit stop' as she still has a few hours to drive before she gets to her home in Indiana. She has been driving all night.

Now I'm up, but I'm not awake... Still have that terrible, wracking cough and will order another bottle of cough syrup when the doc's office opens up this morning.

School starts tomorrow and Brent is excited about 'going' to school for the first time in three years. I need to get him a thermos for soup, left-overs, etc. because our church school does not have hot lunches, but I am still stuck in the house - so no shopping for me yet.

I need some hot chocolate to help me wake up (or maybe I'll just go back to bed). Hmmmmm. :sleeping_2:

HAGD!

Good Morning Everybody,

It's 22 degrees here. Brrrrrrr.

Sue is right[ as usual ] it's time for hot chocolate, and if she doesn't mind, breakfast. I brought in Eggs. Bacon and Sausage, Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy

We're watching the news coverage of the funeral of President Ford. It was so sad to see Mrs. Ford looking out the window of the limousine as her children were inside the Capitol.

I'll do my chores after the funeral.

It is a bright sunny day here in Ontario, but remains coolish. Then it is winter! No snow, however. The rain washed that all away.

I find it very hard writing the year. Somehow I can't get out of the 20th century, and I still want to write 19.....something or other, but it is 2007.
Sometimes it is great having a short memory. I just wish the body felt the same way.

Cheers everyone,

Jim

Not very cold here, in the 40s - 50s. But the Mummer's Parade got rained out yesterday, so not much excitement in my house.

Back to work.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Let me try out my new skill. This is how the weather is at my house, for a change:

Yep, bright and sunny and everyone except Cass is in a good mood. Poor Cass has a migraine. It's getting better though so she'll be okay by this evening at which time she can re engage in the activity that gave her the migraine in the first place: watching TV with her dad till 4 in the morning!

I'm even still in a good mood despite the fact I had to break down and pay bills.

That, karate and the Ford funeral have occupied my day. What I should have been doing/should be doing is cleaning up this house. I don't know what has happened in here but it looks like a tornado has passed through. I'll probably wait for cleaning till tomorrow though. T goes back to work then and I can put the slav---I mean the kids to work helping me.

Yes indeedy! Auburn won the Cotton Bowl! See what comes of keeping your football coach for longer than 4 years? (that was an insult to all the Bama fans, ifn someone didn't understand the reference. LOL!)

Ya'll have a good day!

Wow! I've been here but haven't said a thing in a few days! We're all doing well - Bob and the girls got home last night and had a great time. Nicole hurt something in her foot, though, so I'm hoping to get her into the orthopedist tomorrow. It was nice to be more low key with the family all gone but it's nice to have them back too. :D

Well, I've got to straighten up the kitchen before Bob gets home. We're going to BBQ some steaks he brough home from the retreat - yum!! He can go away any time as long as he brings home steaks!

I root for Auburn except when they're playing the Crimson Tide.

They only canned the coach because he didn't beat Auburn, right?

Of course, my ultimate fan-ship is for the Crimson and Cream of the Oklahoma Sooners! The Fiesta Bowl was an exciting game. Especially the 4th Quarter.

I'm the same way, but Bama has no hope of beating us if they don't find a coach and stick with him. Two more years and Schula would have had his own picks playing and not have been working mostly with players chosen by his predessors. You just can't work a team that has barely gotten off probation and deal with a team that is not a team because half of them were chosen by someone else for reasons you wouldn't have chosen them for. Ah well, they didn't ask this Auburn fan for advice. :D

Mmmm, I have lasagna for supper....'cuse me.

Thanks! It was a lovely wedding and we are all very happy. The weather was horrible, tho. It rained buckets!

Congrats on the new daughter and congrats for surviving the wedding.

I think I'm off to bed. I've typed and retyped so much today that the arthritis in my hands is killing me. Gonna have to give it a rest.

Ya'll have a good evening!

Beautiful picture Gwen!!! I bet you're glad it's over. I always was.

Time for oxygen and bed (couch). I did cook supper tonight, for the first time in over a week. Nothing fantastic or hard. I fixed Swedish Meatballs over Angelhair pasta and opened a can of french-cut green beans.

I even managed to get the laundry done, folded, and put away (with Brent's help).

Now if the Christmas decorations were taken down and packed away for another year...

Pleasant dreams all!
