Well, the stress test (actually, I got an echocardiogram with the stress test) showed that I had an absolutely normal heart. The cardiologist said that there doesn't even need to be any follow-up unless anything new develops. Whew! I feel MUCH better! :D

Glad to hear it, Ann! :godisgood:

I have never had chest pain, but last week, I began having some, and it comes and goes. I know I should see a Dr., but I really do not have the time.

Make time. Tests for that are not really invasive and your life may depend on it. :godisgood:

Good Evening folks!

It has been a doctor day! Chris had an appointment and T had an appointment. Chris' went better than T's. He got to drop one of his meds since he has been doing so well lately. Doc encouraged us to keep homeschooling and said he had homeschooled his son through middle school. He said middle school was a zoo!

T had a good appointment, but the result wasn't what we had wanted. We expected it, though. The doc said T would have to start taking insulin in attempt to control his sugar levels. T was matter of fact about it.

I have to head to the store and then to choir practice. See ya'll later.

Slow around here! Good morning all. Turning off the computer now until Monday or Tuesday. We will drive 6 hours + today down to near Sacramento and spend the night with our son and daughter-in-law and then finish the drive to Costa Mesa tomorrow -- 8 hours. Saturday four lectures at the Calvary Chapel creation group, Sunday is church and reverse the driving process, again spending the night with Scott and Monica and then finishing the drive home on Sunday. Found out the lectures will be filmed professionally on Saturday, so we are supposed to look bright and chipper and rested!

Please, if you remember, pray for safe drives both ways, and for our clarity of mind during the presentations and question and answer periods. By ten at night, when the last lecture is finished, we are both going to feel kind of burned out, I think. And there will still be at least half an hour of questions and answers after that.

Pray for Gina as she holds down the fort here (Chris, five horses, two goats, two dogs, a guinea pig, two parakeets, eight chickens, and five tiny fish....not to mention her three girls and her own health). A pastor friend of ours will be helping out to make sure Gina can get the sleep she needs, including naps during the day. They are both quite comfortable with Chris and the beasts, but it is just too much for one person to take care of without help.

So God bless you all, and us, too. :wavey:

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 60 degrees and sunny here, headed for a high of 82.

The Grandmother of our friends who was under hospice care passed away yesterday. Our friend called me this morning in tears. There is a family member who is upset with all the Grandchildren [except one], and wants to only list the name of the one he likes in the obituary. I tried to tactfully suggest to her that perhaps instead of naming the Grandchildren they could only put the number of Grandchildren. That way no feelings would be hurt. It has always amazed me how pepole can wait until such a devastating time to cause trouble.

Helen praying for your safety and that your presentation is well received.

I brought in Bruschetta 'n Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts, Bacon Appetizer Crescents, Harvest Salad, and Banana Pudding Squares for dessert. Enjoy.

The above is also the dinner I'm taking to our friends tonight. I'm making sure they don't have to think about cooking until after the funeral.

Time to get my supplies together to start cooking.

Morning all! Just a quick stop in today - I have a lot to do! We are a day or two (depending on the subject) behind in homeschooling so I want to catch up so that I don't have to take any school work to church tomorrow. I'll be going up by 9AM to do my work for Sunday and then we have homeschool group - so that should be busy. I'm also going riding later today so I need to finish up school by 3:30.

I will be praying for many of you throughout today - Helen, for safety, Gayla for healing, Rob for wisdom and clarity in dealing with his friends, Gina for strength (LOL). If you guys could think of me - I need major wisdom and guidance from the Lord to deal with a situation that I was dealt last night. To make a long story short, there's a woman at our church who has had a lot of abuse from the time she was a baby continuing into adulthood and it's caused all kinds of mental and emotional instability. She has e-mailed me numerous times over the last few days and it sounds manic to me - and I'm wondering if there's not a demonic component to it too. I'm going to speak to one of the other pastor's wives later today who's had a lot more experience with this sort of thing - I'm just clueless! So, if you could remember me over the next few days and pray for her that she'll know the truth of God rather than some of the things she's been hearing/thinking. Thanks!

Morning all-
Man I had an interesting day yesterday and would not pay for a repeat of last week (to say it was bad would be an understatement!) !!!!!! I went to town last night and while on my way the car overheated, I finally got it started again and went to pick up my neices from my sis who wasn't feeling well. Anyway, after getting the girls I barely made it to the resturant to meet my parents. Then we went to Wal-Mart to get groceries; while in Wal-Mart the other sis calls and says "Mom there is a snake in my house...." They got it out and came into town and stayed at a hotel. The snake was in a container until they could see to tell what kind it was and my sis calms down. We got home finally and got groceries put up and I got to bed a little after midnight. The youngest one's soccer game starts in about 20 minutes. I'm thinking we're not going to make it since everyone else is still in bed.:sleeping_2: I am grabbing a Mt. Dew and going to see if my sis has called mom yet. We are supposed to go up and help move furniture so we can find where the snake got in at. I think I'm going to offer to keep the kiddos. I don't do snakes! Oh yeah, all this was after mom and dad had to make a rush trip to Dallas to pick up his insulin since it has to be on refrigeration and can't be shipped!

Ugh. I need coffee.

Went to see the late show at the dollar theater last night with my brother, his wife, my other brother and his friend. Saw Transformers and, although the movie was cool and brought back childhood memories, I was done watching it a half hour before it was over.

My restlessness may have been because I didn't have a drink. I always need a drink at the movies. I am a camel, the bigger the better.

Nah, it was the so-so movie. :D

Good Morning Everyone!

Chica, since when do they allow drinking in the theatre? :D My folks thought the same about the Transformer movie.

Snake in the house, huh, Island Girl? Sounds like fun, NOT! Tell your folks to get a cat. Snakes do not like cats. Leastwise that's what the old wives around here say. My experience, we lived way out in the country, the cats kept the snakes away from the immediate house and barn, but anywhere else, you'd better watch out!

Cuz, where's breakfast? You off on another surprise weekend with the wife? You tryin' to push cooking off on me?

I'm not cooking. Unfortunately I am still sick. Everytime I think I am better and do a normal days activities, I'm back in the bed for a day or two. If I could have gotten in to see the doc yesterday I would have. Had to run over to Chris' school instead. It's over in the backwoods of B'ham and that took a good 3 hours.

Chris, however, is taking orders and serving coffee, so if ya'll need something just hollar. He cooks pretty well for a 12 year old. :)

Ya'll have a good day!

I had breakfast this morning, but I am still starving. I then had a couple pop-tarts, but they did not do the trick, so I had peanut M & M's. I am still hungry. And I am not a glutton. Why am I sooooooooo hungry? MAybe because I am chronically tired these days?

Sorry Cuz The grandkids had their final youth football game today so thats why the food is late. Please dear, sit down and think pleasant thoughts - nothing about food or cooking. I know how that effects you.

Good Morning Everybody,

Sue :praying: Praying that you feel better. :praying:

Palagislandgirl: Sounds like you're a Lady after my own heart. I gotta have that Mt. Dew in the morning. LOL!!

The weatherman says that our area might set a record high today. Right now it is 81 and sunny.

I brought in Cornmeal-Crusted Catfish, Corn-on-the-Cob with Chili Lime Butter, Lime-Ginger Cole Slaw, Roasted Veggies with Nutmeg, and Upside-Down Pineapple Cake for dessert. Enjoy.

Took the car in for an oil change last Wednesday, and yesterday I noticed some oil under the car. Our daughter was taking the car into town to run some errands so I asked her to stop at Valvoline [where I got the oil change] to have them check and see if maybe the oil filter might be loose. They checked and said the gasket on the oil pan was leaking so they had to replace it. WELLLL while they were changing the gasket they broke a bolt holding up the oil pan, and it dropped off the car and broke. The shop had my car towed to a garage to have a new oil pan installed, all at their cost. They are standing behind everything. It was an accident and I made sure they knew that. They said it was their fault and they would pay for all the repairs. Nice to see that some businesses still stand behind their work. We should get the car back on Tuesday.

Today our Son and his girl friend are coming over for dinner, and coincidentally the meal is the same thing I brought into the CGCH today.

Today is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Gayla you could try looking at and thinking about animals, if that helps.

My favorite animal is Chocolate Mousse.

Good morning all,

I am feeling much better after having slept most of the day away yesterday!

I am going to continue doing the work I've been doing, but at a much slower pace and I'm going to take days off when I feel I need them.

I am praying for all the situations here. I may not be posting as often, but I do stop by to read every day.

Y'all have a great day!

Mmmmmm! Thanks for breakfast Cuz.

Good morning everyone!

I do feel some better today, but have decided it is false hope as yesterday I felt like doing nothing at all (and didn't do much). On top of that my back is sore. It doesn't feel like I've pulled a muscle (that hurts way more), but I can feel a place when I move and I'm afraid it will actually pull out if I do much. I've taken meds for it for a week now and it is no better. I think the real problem is that I've felt to bad to go work out and I've been in the bed a lot and my back doesn't like it! I plan on calling the doc when the office opens and making an appointment for tomorrow.

Today, I have some sewing to do and the oldest two have dentist appointments. Chris has a new skateboard that should be in today, so we'll end up at the skateboard park sometime this evening. Probably means I should put something in the crockpot for supper.

Ya'll have a good day!
