Originally posted by Ed Edwards: Woke up this Wednesday, 6 Jan 2004 (that is the good part, i DID wake up) to 10-degree weather. This is the coldest it has been HERE in seven years! By Thursday night it shouldn't even freeze. But for now we have some drips going (Please, no jokes about Ed waking up).

Brother Ed, when I read your post quoted above, I took a second look at it and said: "Oh my goodness, I am behind preparing the payroll!" I sincerely thought that it was Wednesday, and Wednesday is payroll day.
laugh.gif
But then I realized that it couldn't possible be Wednesday, because yesterday it was Monday, and I took my car to Jiffy Lube to change the transmission fluid, and I have a receipt to prove it. So, Brother Ed, to be sure, take it form me, it is only Tuesday! ;)

Hello everybody! I have been extremely busy the past week or so, so my visit to the BB was only a cursory one. Hope you all had a blessed Christmas, and a very happy New Year in the Lord.

I can see that things are going on pretty well here in the Common Ground Coffee House, and we can thank Lady Sue for doing an exceptionally good job as the hostess of this thread. I don't know when I will be able to read all the posts.... and my goodness, I just realized, this is CGCH #29 already! Some people talk a lot, don't they?

Well, blessings to you all!

Morning all and a big BOY HOWDY. Thankfully it is warming up. 10 am and up to 10F! Coldest night in three years.

Son has a modular double-wide and had frozen pipes WITH heat tape wrapped. He was under the house at 10 pm last night at -25F and dropping up in the mountains near Buffalo, Wyoming.

WHO SENT THIS COLD WEATHER? We normally get by-passed by the big winter chills sagging down from Alberta and then blowing east across the plains.

But even Denver hit record lows. Sagging WAY south. Brrrrr.

Barnabas,

Brother Ed indulges himself in wishful thinking - he's always looking for it to be the weekend - and one way to get to the weekend quicker is to skip days.

Now on a more personal note - who are you accusing of talking to much, I make lots of posts - but try to say very little in each one.

Dan - multiple poster extraordinaire!

Dr. Bob,

I'm sure all this cold is somehow being sent our way from Brother Jim, the young man who lives in Canada!

I have it on good authority that Jim loves to send his miserable cold weather - south to me - and from the looks of things, south and very west to you!

Dan - Southern California's mean annual temperature of 72 degrees F is looking better all the time!

Well I'm not sure if it's a Canadian cold front coming through but I welcome it! Anything to keep the mosquitoes dead so my 9 year old can play outside to his hearts content. Plus, it's supposed to get cold in the winter. It was in the 70's this week! Weird!

Back from the dentist for Nick and no cavities so we're pleased. PLEASE don't tell Blackbird, but I have a dentist appointment next Tuesday and he'll have me scared to death before then if he finds out!

Diane,

Who syas it supposed to get cold in winter?

Blackbird already knows - he has spies everywhere!

Dan - I'll never tell!

No accusation Brother Dan, only an observation. ;)

Diane, at first I did not see your picture, only a red "X" - but when I copied the URL I could see the writing crayon. Its a nice signature!

Brother Barnabas,

Just what are you observing - that I post to much - or that I say very little in my posts!

Dan - just trying to be a posting pain-in-the-neck! Am I doing a good job of it?

That one is tricky sometimes Barnabas.... It appears and then disappears but I think it's cute.

I tend to write whole novels in each post! LOL

Got my laundry put away and another load in the dryer. Everyone had a nice lunch and Nick is practicing lessons while I job search for Jim.

Dan - I'm almost scared to leave theBB for 10 days at the rate you post! Feel like I'm Kareem Abduhl Jabbar and being TRIPLE-TEAMED every time you're in "the post"!

Brother Dan, do you want to get me in trouble?!

Diane, so Jim is still looking for a good job? We'll pray that with the New Year, he may find one which will cater to his and his family's needs!

Hello Dr. Kareem Abduhl Jabbar! I wouldn't worry about anybody reaching your number of posts soon...

Dan - A word to the wise (so I'll say it twice to you) is DON'T MESS WITH BARNABAS!

Have you seen how he's changed? No more "Mr Nice Guy". Tough dude.

Enforcer of rules.

Cyber-Patrol.

And think about it - where exactly does Baranabas live?

Un-huh. HQ of the mafia, brotherhood, cosa nostra and "family".

I'd keep really quiet for a few days, brother.

More thoughts --

When they do his life story, bet it will be Al Pacino playing Barnabas.

And Nancy Sinatra LP playing in the background, "These boots are made for walking . . "

Think I'm going to leave quickly. He knows where I live.

I know your number Dr. Bob! Never mind where you live.... I know your posting number... and that is something to contend with. ;)

By the way, that reminds me, this year the Webmaster did not list the winners of most posts. I know you are way up there on top. And I know that there are several people who reached 10,000 posts until December 31st of 2003, but I am not one of them...

I wasletting Sherry and Sue catch up with me by New Year's, but one defected and the other had some 'puter problems . . so I reached 13k first.

But remember, like you, I'm an OLD TIMER on the BB. Diane and Sue and Dan and Gib and a host of others have been here only a short time and are soon overtaking me.

Sue will go past next week while I'm out of the country. She's only a coupla hundred behind now and closing.

Nobody's racing - but it would be neat to see who posted THE MOST in 2003.

Think you and I would be far down the list!

Dr. Bob,

I'll be careful what I say to Barnabas. Even though I've seen a picture of his and Webmaster together - I'm still not convinced that they are two different people.

Dan - treading lightly - carrying a small stick!

And with Barnabas A or B (whichever) picture showing him with dreadlocks, it is one scarey dude.

WHERE'S THE CROCODILE HUNTER WHEN WE NEED HIM?

In the interest of getting to 6000 posts faster - and keeping my posts relitively short - I will tell you a story that your post about Barnabas and where he lives - reminded me of - in my next post!

Dan - keeping them short!

Dano - Why doesn't the rest of the state secede and let New York City just drift into oblivion like the garbage scows out by Staten Island?

Oh, right. You all want HILLARY . . .
