    Good evening all!

Here is the report on Jan. The cardiologist said there is no problem with her heart. He feels that some of her problems (numbness and tingling in hands and feet) is related to her celiac disease (no gluton allowed - no wheat, barley, rye, or oats). He suggested that she take a vitamin B complex formula.

Our family doctor's office called today to see how Jan was doing. The office person asked when her next appointment is - Jan told her - August. The office person said that just will not do - she now has an appointment for next Wednesday.

Next on the horizon probably will be a colonoscopy.

The cardiologist's report was very good news - for which we are thankful!

DAN! I want to talk to Jan if possible! If she doesn't want to then no problem, but my youngest was positive for celiac and I had her on the diet a while, now she's negative for it (how weird is that) and I put her on a modified one only if she starts having symptoms again, but it's sooo hard and I could use an experienced person's advice on variety in the diet!

We homeschooled, Jim, but kids were in jr/sr high. They could do much of the work themselves, with supervision of projects and tests and as a pastor, I worked MY schedule around THEM so there was no time lost. Know that is rare.

Curriculum/texts etc was about $500 US (that's $2 million Canadian [IMG] ) a year. Kids did school work all morning and either took college courses (chemistry type that I couldn't teach at home) or worked in the afternoon or evening. They played on city/state teams rather than school team and had great interaction.

    It was worth every penny.

    Good morning!

I love my broadband - sitting here listening to BBN while I browse the BB. Christian radio in Ireland - wow!

We have homeschooled for years because we counted the cost, not of homeschooling, but of not homeschooling.

    Good evening all,

Just got in from the hospital. Thank you all for praying for my dad and family today. He had a better day. He was much more responsive, but he still cannot swallow, talk, or move his left arm & hand. God is so good! He gives us everything we need including wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ who will pray as you all did today. I also pastor a wonderful church that has been taking care of me and my family (including extented family) for the last two days. We Know this could take a while, but God is in control and He is good all the time.

Jim thanks for sharing your experience. I know that God is able, I just want to continue to walk in faith and trust Him with everything. It has been a long day---Night to all my wonderful Christian family here on the board. You are in my prayers and I am grateful to you.

I am heading in for tests early a.m., then meeting with the neurologist at 9:30 to evaluate all the stuff we've done in the past two weeks.

So must turn in early tonight. Not much to do, anyway. Only 44F and light drizzle and therapy done early so I can sleep.

You all are in my prayers this night . . and I covet yours.

    Good morning all:

Lots of praying for my Coffee House 'family'. Sure helps keep my mind off of MY problems.

Dan: Glad Jan's tests came back good. They now have a NON-INVASIVE colonoscopy now. It is done with a machine much like a CAT scan. That is the ONLY way to have one! I will have to travel 40 miles to get one because they don't have one of those machines in our town yet - but it will be well worth it to me!

Bro. Tony: Glad to hear your dad is responding somewhat.

Dr.B.: Hope the visit to the neurologist brings some good news your way. And don't forget to order roses for Dr.Mrs.Dr.Bob!

Diane: Hope it is not as hot today while you are delivering phone books. I am with you. do NOT put Nick in a public school...

Brent is still sleeping. Shawna will stop by for a few minutes, this morning, before heading back to Wisconsin. I am praying for a calm departure...

    Cruising...

    Good morning all!

Had a good soaking rain yesterday - so didn't have to water the plants in the garden - for which I am thankful!

Well we're expecting a high of 90° with thunderstorms this afternoon and the humidity is already 73% so we're heading out early to see how much we can get done. This is a hard job! I bagged phone books and packed the back of my VUE until almost midnight.

Hope everyone has a very blessed day! Praying for all those health needs mentioned above.

Please take a minute to read the words of our Lord this morning. All the answers to all the questions we could ever ask have already been given us. [IMG]

2 Peter 1:19 "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts."

1 John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

John 10:1-5 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers."

Luke 10:19 Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Isaiah 14:16 "They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that open not the house of his prisoners?"

Oh yes, and one thing more...forgive. Hear the very words of Jesus himself:

Mark 11:23-26 "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Many thanks, Dr. Bob. That is what I was asking because I did not know the difference in costs. I am well aware of the advantages/disadvantages, the philosophy of home schooling.

It is not for me to question whether or not one thinks God has given a direction on the matter, anymore than one can challenge what I am doing. So, that was not the question.

Tony, always keep looking up. When my strokes happened, I questioned many things. What can a teacher/preacher do when he cannot talk? The Lord, however, opened other avenues of service such as visiting with the disabled in hospital and nursing homes. They listened more to one who went through the same experiences more than when I was just a pastor doing his duties.

Cheers, and good day to all.

    Jim

Let us know how it went asap Dr. Bob!
When the neurologist prods you in the upper leg kick him really hard and yell. When he asks "wow, that's really sensitive there huh?" just look at him all confused and say "no, why do you ask?"

Well 2.5 hours and 4 streets done. This is VERY tiring. Many of the homes have very steep steps to their front porches.

Home for a rest and cool drink and then we'll go back out later.

I'M BACK! What fun (and what a waste of God's $$) Every test from the blood work came back negative - no diabetes or even tendency that way, no heavy metals, no drug residue, no clogging of aortic or carotid arteries, nothing.

Basic cause of my profound neuropathy? Idiopathic (no known cause). Nerve conduction test shows feet and lower leg with very little conduction - but that is UP from NO conduction a year ago! And no progression in fingers and hands.

Still no hope, no cure, no drug, etc. But . .

The good news (beside me making another payment on my neurologists Mercedes?) is that he contradicted the first neurological tests of last summer and said that since the diseas is NOT getting worse and MAY be ameliorating somewhat, he would REMOVE THE DEATH SENTENCE!!!

All the conclusions last year were 4 years, maybe 5 and go get my things in order 'cause I was going to get worse and die.

He left me today by saying he thought I would live a NORMAL LIFESPAN -- even though there would be reduced mobility and pain I should live to be a grandpa! (Didn't have the heart to tell him I already WAS 7 times over).

Only bad news - now that I am going to live (he thinks), then I should be concerned about my diet and weight. Think a DIET change is not much to ask compared to the idea of DYING in a couple years.

(Makes me thankful for a GREAT Physician and that my times are in HIS hands!)

Well Praise The Lord Dr. Bob! That's the kind of news we love to hear!

Now let's just pray it keeps repairing itself (God's work!) and that you regain full use of your hands and feet!

Now about that diet....... I still say all the veggies you want and limit caloric intake of things like meat, sugars and unhealthy foods. YUM!

God is good all the time
He put a song of praise
    In this heart of mine
God is good all the time
    Through the darkest night
    His light will shine
    God is good
God is good all the time

If you're walking through the valley
    There are shadows all around
Do no fear He will guide you
He will keep you safe and sound
He has promised to never leave you
    Nor forsake you
    And His Word is true
    God is good
God is good all the time

    We were sinners so unworthy
Still for us He chose to die
He filled us with His Holy Spirit
Now we can stand and testify
    That His love is everlasting
And His mercies they will never end
    God is good
God is good all the time

    Though I may not understand
All the plants You have for me
My life is in Your hands
And through the eyes of faith
    I can clearly see
    God is good
God is good all the time

    :D :D :D

Wife just came home with a card she found and box of those "celebration" little candies (I am NOT diabetic, remember!!)

Dr. Bob, so excited to read about your recent prognosis and update. I appreciate the side affects you are still experiencing, but, as you well know, our precious Lord is able to bring us through the trials with greater strengths. Someone once said, if we want to grow spiritually, we need to pray for adversity. I am not so sure about praying for adversity, but Paul did say, When I am weak, then am I strong.

    God bless,

    Cheers,

    Jim

That 'good news' was a wonderful Anniversary Present!

Well, we still have about 1,000 houses to do and I'm tired and sore. Think I'll go on to bed.

    Sleep well all!
