Evening all (and blessed Sunday to those across the pond). Busy day and tough evening. After my jaunts in the Wyoming wind for a noon wedding, then the big wedding this evening - with a scrumptuous meal after - I came home to help prepare for my second son Joshua and his family to get here this coming week. We have an extra closet in the basement which I use to "alternate" clothes - summer stuff v rest of the year stuff.
Long story short, carry an arm full of short sleeved shirts, etc, up the stairs from the basement, I missed a step. Actually thought my foot was on a step and it was just the big toe and part of other toes. I stepped up and the foot slipped off, bending all toes upward 90 degrees and making me fall.
Grrr. This not-being-able-to-feel-your-feet is for the boids! Soaking my foot, but it will not fit into any shoe for sure. So will preach in sandals (hey, I wasn't a hippie in the 60's so NOW is my turn!!).
Appreciate your prayers. I have to drive 90 miles into the high plains to preach to this group of ranchers, have dinner and drive home - with an awful lot of pain just to stand up. Ugly.
But God has a sense of humor in it. My text (I always preach in Jeremiah whever I go) is chapter 12. Key verse is 5
"If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?"
Cheer up, things WILL get worse!
