0.o Blackbird is laughing in the face of danger and Gib is rolling his eyes. Errr... What were the signs of the end again -grins- Ok ok bad pun anyway. Everyone in Florida is getting a few extra prayers.

Sometimes I love being a Land lover, but living in Tornado alley just sometimes is less than desired since I live in a Manufactured House [IMG] too.

It's all good though sometime i'll move to the mountains and umm, I'll have to endure snow storms and Valcanoes :D .

We had spegetti for dinner no hot dogs and umm i made about 10 dozen chocalte chip cookies. hehe

I'm glad you had a good trip Tater!!!

See you all before bed time

Notice that Blackbird used the MALE form of Frances, Francis.... but once he realizes this storm is an angry female.... me thinks Blackbird will turn tail and run too!

I was born and raised in Mobile and don't fear hurricanes. We were too poor to outrun the storms with my grandparents so we spent many, many nights in high school gyms sleeping on the mats and eating sandwiches provided by the Red Cross. Uncle Fred took me outside in the eye of a hurricane when I was around 6. DEAD CALM.

Well shoot! Hubby's boss told him yesterday that on Sunday's he can attend church and then come to work and tonight said that some big shot is coming in for the sale so Jim has to be at work at 11:00 tomorrow... an hour from our house. Tomorrow is Graduation Sunday so I'll have all new kids in my class AND the lady who uses my room for weekday preschool turned the back half of the room into a little 'living area' full of new toys, balls, etc. I'm going to have my hands FULL! I have over 20 on role.

I have someone I can ask to help me IF they come to church tomorrow....

My pianist is out of town. I secured another. He backed out due to the storm and his business. Cheryl's preacher called and told her that they had cancelled services. So she agreed to play. He called back and said that services were not cancelled.

I called someone who had gone to college, but I thought they would be home for the weekend. They were not. I called a pianist from the church who has had back surgery and asked her if she knew anyone. She gave me 2 names. No such luck.

We have to have a piano to drown out all the sick alto wanna be's. [IMG]

Well, I have been up almost 24 hours.

I am waiting for the Journal to deliver my papers. I thought I might as well stay up and deliver them as soon as they get here and THEN go to bed for a few hours... but I thought they'd BE here by now.

We have the family reunion after church. I am really going to show my age after no sleep!

I will check in later today - whenever I can...

Hope you are all snug in your beds and having pleasant dreams!

Andrew Mark Kelly Todd - made his entrance into the world last evening at 8:09 PM. The little guy has blue eyes - making five of six grandchildren with blue eyes so far. Just to let you know - there's not a blue eyes child among our three kids and their spouses - but this blue eyed thing has been jumping generations. Among Kelly and Elizabeth's four children - three blue eyes - one brown. That's 75% for the good guys - and 25% for the other side. It's supposed to be the other way around - as brown eyes are dominate!

I'll be praying for all you folks who are in the path of Frances!

Speaking of the path of Francis-----The National Hurricane Center in Miami just got off the phone with Blackbird and gave him(Blackbird) the "go ahead" to name the next storm on the charts---so, with Bible in hand(this is Sunday) Blackbird doth name the next storm-----ummmm-----ummmmm--yes, here it is-----ummmmm---Hurricane Andrew Mark Kelly Todd!!!! Dubbed simply "Hurricane" for short!!!! [IMG] [IMG]

    Congradulations to the Todd family!!!

Congratulations Grandpa! You're catching up with Dr. Bob! None of us could catch up with Sue tho!

I haven't had a chance to check the hurricane this morning and need to get ready for church. I'm a little concerned about having so many alone and sure hope I can grab the mom I have in mind. She'd be an extra body but not much more tho.

Diane says, "I'm a little concerned about having so many alone . . .." Blackbird feels the same way sometimes---come 11am on Sundays!!!!

I'm preaching through a series I've titled "The Groom and His Bride"

The Groom is in Revelation Chapter 1 and naturally is the Lord Jesus Christ! Man, He is "decked out" in Heaven's "Tuxedo!" What John is seeing is Jesus in all of His humanity and also in all of His Glory---both at the same time!!

But the Groom is coming for His bride!! Amen?? And He is coming for a "spotless" Bride! Jesus' Bride is found in Revelation Chapters 2 & 3!! His Bride---naturally---is the Church!!

Chapters 2&3 are what I call "Jesus' Love Letters to His Bride"----with notes of Comendation and Condemnation---and a plea to repent and return!

Todays focus is on the little church at Smyrna---"The Poor Little Rich Church"----a church which was literally "snuffed out" for the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ! They literally ceased to exist because of their testamony for the Lord Jesus Christ!!----But although THEY(the members met martyrdom head on!!)ceased to exist----their testamony for Jesus lived!

They refused to bow their knee to anyone but Jesus! Its a message to us---Jesus' Love Letter is for us! For me! For you! He's telling us---remain faithful unto death---and I'll give you Me!

Good morning everyone, have a blessed Lord's day.
My prayers are with you Blackbird as you take on a Book that so many disagree on!
I am struck by the fact that we have here the Apostle John, "The disciple whom Jesus loved," but when he saw this Jesus in Revelation chapter one he, "Fell at His feet as a dead man."
Thomas said it best: "My Lord and my God."

    Good morning folks (Again):

Wow, that was a short night - 3 1/2 hours sleep. I feel like a Zombie! I will definitely need some Visine to 'get the red out' today!

I probably wouldn't be up yet, but I drank a bottle of water on my paper route - 'instant alarm clock'...

I must get Brent and Bobby up and fed in time for Sunday School.

    Congratulations Grandpa Todd!

Good Morning, Good MORNING and Good Afternoon to everyone!

Well I did it. I walked down front with three of my kids and my oldest daughter and I joined our new church [IMG] .

We came home and had some left overs for last night for dessert. We're hoping to go back this evening, but it's going to depend on the weather. See you all Later !!!

Good afternoon all! Sunday School went well. I had 14 all alone and they did quite well for just turning 4. I did have 3 who thought it was funny to use baby talk dirty words and I reminded them they were in God's house and were big kids now. Two of the children have parents who would be overwhelmed with shame and the other is a child recently adopted .... so I understand his situation.

I didn't stay for church tho. I came home and went back to bed. My ears are still bothering me and I'm a little dizzy headed. My eyes are watering so badly from the pollen that you'd think I was crying all the time. The tears have actually made a little raw trail down one side of my cheek. [IMG] Trail of tears, eh?

Lea, that is wonderful news about your joining your church! I'm so thrilled for you!

Oh I hope Sue has had a nice nap today. Loss of sleep is not an easy thing for us ladies!

Diane---I'll be at a Preaching Conference at the Olford Bible Institute in Memphis---Sept 13-17. I will have to miss Sheila.

The Conference Center was founded by Dr. Stephen Olford who just recently passed away into the presence of the Lord Jesus this past August 29.

    See

    www.olford.com

The Preaching Conference is still scheduled for that date, though Dr. Olford's Funeral service will be this Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Center.

Dr. Adrian Rogers will be the Bible Conference leader----it will be great to spend the week long with that "Preaching Giant!!!"

    Blackbird

    PS---CJ?????!!!!! Where have you been????

Unfortunately, Diane, I won't be able to see Sheila and Rob. I am in the middle of leaving one job and starting another, and I'm not sure either one would like me to take time off! I really hope they are having a great time, though. If I remember correctly, isn't this their first time to visit the U.S.?

Blackbird...I've "been" busy!!! Thanks for asking!!!! I didn't know Olford had died. I have his book on the Tabernacle...that YOU recommended! But I'm sure you'll enjoy Adrian Rogers!
