    Good morning all:

Christmas has come and gone, but you couldn't tell it from the shape my house is in! Now, we have to find a place to put all the toys, clothes, appliances, etc.

Bobby is driving in from Kansas and should be here for dinner today. Then he will be going to Georgia, for a week, with his friend and family. I'm gonna snag him long enough for him to eat and hook up the new DVD player from Santa!

My 'guys' felt sorry for me so they are doing the papers this morning. Ahhh, this is nice! I inserted, folded, and bagged them and they delivered them. This is a family adventure. [IMG]

We got enough tip money from our route to give Grandpa a Magnavox TV for his bedroom, a new cell phone for me, and a $100.00 bill for Brent to buy whatever he wants!

Cruising (and enjoying staying home this morning),

Cheryl had an accident on the way to her church this morning. Some guy pulled out and ran into her. Both are safe and were wearing seat belts. She is shaken, but not stirred and is calming her nerves with a nap. We had not left for church yet when she called. I called the church and found someone else to fill in for me. Cheryl's more upset not making it to church, than having the accident.

So sorry to hear that Gib.

Having someone pull out and run into me just last week, I can surely relate to how she feels!

    Glad everyone is safe!

Sorry to hear that Gib. Glad she is okay, though.

I thought I'd ask a quick prayer request, if it's okay. Mom called me last night and said they think one of my little sisters in Augusta may have ALS. She is going to be tested for it this coming week. I just found out last night that she had had to be taken to the emergency room and seen by a neurologist. The neurologist said that the preliminary blood tests didn't show anything, but that she has the classic symptoms and may be hard to detect. Anyhow, will keep ya'll updated. I'm going to call her this evening after she's home from church.

Ah Tony, I'm so sorry to hear this but will certainly pray it is NOT ALS. Even MS wouldn't be a death sentence.

Gib, I'm so glad Cheryl is okay! Was the other driver insured?

That's GREAT about the newspaper 'tips' Sue! I had prayed you'd make enough to cover the lost wages during your sick days and it sounds like you did very well!

The other driver is insured. He didn't want to call the police. Someone had called that came by. Cheryl's preacher showed up on the way to church. The driver told the police that it was her fault, but the evidence shows something else. He didn't ask if she was okay and never said sorry. Of course he didn't have to because he was in an Escalade and she was in a Honda. Island people are snooty.

Ah... so if you're rich you're innocent, eh?

I'm just glad she's okay. She might be stiff tomorrow. I'm glad she still has off a while before heading back to school so she can relax and also get the car fixed.

Gib says, "He didn't want to call the police."

First, thank the Lord Almighty that Cheryl is ok!! Tell her hello!

But if I'm not mistaken---it is against the law not to call the police---in an accident involving injuries---

"The driver told the police it was her fault."---ain't that like Escalade drivers!!!

I came upon a wreck sometime ago--I was the first person on the scene(against the law for a passing motorist not to stop and render aid and assistance)---a semi-truck has slammed into a Cutlass---she was making a left hand turn into traffic and the truck driver hit her from behind---(dude wasn't payin' any attention)---anyway---he started hollerin' at the accident scene---"Its her fault! Its her fault!!"----I was wipeing blood away from her face---trying to get her to a safe place off the highway----and I told her---"Lady! Don't admit to nothing! Don't say nothing to him---you only have to answer to police investigators!"

    Have a relaxed day, Cheryl!!

Gib, I was in an accident about two years ago where someone pulled out of their driveway very fast and slammed into my car as I drove down the road.
    I didn't feel injured.
However, I was so sore and stiff the next day! Thankfully someone online had warned me that would probably happen and I was prepared for it.
At the least have her expect some muscle soreness in the morning. Unless someone is pretty drunk they tense up quite a bit during an accident..so no hopping out of bed in the morning for her! Tell her that as soon as she opens her eyes in the morning she should do some stretching before getting out of bed, and then get up slowly and try to take it easy for entire day even if she feels fine.
It's NOT worth the pain to overdo it because you don't feel the strained muscles yet...

    Evening all!

What a busy couple of days!

Diane, it is so funny that you got Nick a dirt bike. It is what Son got as well. He's been after one for months. He got out yesterday and rode it in spite of the cold. He looked like an Eskimo by the time I got him bundled up but he wasn't waiting a day to ride it!

His sisters are jealous of it even though they got what they asked for.

Dr. Bob, your house sounds like ours last year. Bitsy started it all and I TOLD the rest of the family that the two of us needed to stay home from the family dinner. They wouldn't listen and by the end of Christmas most of the family had the bug. Bad part is that some of them had to travel home with sick kids. Eewww!

Gib, I'm glad Cheryl wasn't hurt in that accident. I agree with the others though that she needs to take it easy for a day or two. Even little bumps can make you sore and stiff.

Avl, I'll pray that your sister's illness is not so serious.

Nick had a wonderful Christmas and now his birthday is Wednesday. He'll get a nice present from us and has cards with cash from some relatives and a fun book from another. I haven't gotten the word on what type cake he wants this year. It's usually a special character cake tho.

How old is your son Cindi?

Sue, that was so nice of hubby and Brent doing the papers for you! Hope you're MUCH better now!

    Good morning all:

Christmas is over - back to the routine. I have laundry to do today. I am not taking decorations down, but I DO need to get the gifts put away.

I imagine Grandpa and Brent will start to work setting the train tracks in place on the painted plywood. Once that is done, I will help arrange the village, trees, shrubs, ponds, etc.

I am also going to have the girls, Cassie and Michelle, (one at a time) come over for a day this week and we will play the board and card games that Brent received for Christmas.

    Cruising,

Yesterday, I picked up a young dog, left by someone to fend for itself in this frigid weather the past three days that I know about. I could count her ribs without touching her body. She was afraid and I had to get on my hands and knees to beg her over to me so I could embrace her and put her into the car. Wot's one more dog in the household?

We have just come through the Christmas season; Joyeux Noel en Francais. A season of joy. Just how much do we appreciate wot we have, and are we praising our God for all the blessings He affords us to-day?

It was -40 here last night, and I can't help but thinking about this poor dog trying to survive in that. I am also blessing the Lord for true friends in Christ, who truly express that Joyeux Noel; Happy Christmas.

God bless everyone. We are so rich in Him.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Oh how sad Jim but so wonderful that YOU found him and not some uncaring person who might even cart him off to be put down.

It's a cold morning here! I had a fitful night with disturbing dreams. I've never had worriesome dreams like the ones since beginning menopause. I live such a quiet and peaceful life that I've never had such dreams.

Ironing is on MY agenda. Jim had 2 sets of work clothes since he had off a few days last week and a short week again this week but I don't want to fall behind!

Going to check out the cat today too.

Ah, Debby! I've been saying 54 for a long time so Wednesday won't seem like a change to me. Plus, I don't look it so I guess it's all relative. [IMG]

I don't look 60 either but, unfortunately in reality, that doesn't make me any younger...

Nope! Going on 54. I'm 53 until Wednesday. I do, however, plan to live to be 103 unless Jesus comes before then. [IMG]

I bet I can find your birthdate Blackbird. It took me about 11 minutes to find your real name when you first told us you'd never tell. [IMG]
