Morning all:
Gibbers, you crack me up, and believe me, sometimes I really need that humor! Thanks!
It's a steamy 72 here. It got to 100 here yesterday with a heat index of 110+. Air quality was poor, and when I went out I nearly stopped breathing. Three breathing treatments yesterday and two times on the inhalers.
We had an emergency meeting of the church last night to take care of some necessary business. The deacon who had resigned was back and his resignation was considered null and void. We finally voted to pay the ex-pastor 2 weeks severence pay, and to tell him his services were no longer needed. We requested he not be on the premises again. It was in a kind Christian manner. He showed up, and the deacons walked him from the front door to where he wanted to go, and then out after he had collected his belongings. Other things in the church were discovered missing. The locks will be changed today.
We revoked the ministerial license of the assistant pastor. He told the majority of the congregation the other day that he got it under false pretenses. It's hard to defrock a minister. The people here still love him, though we think he's been misled by a deceiving spirit. He's not resigned his membership, and neither has his wife. We're praying for a reconciliation to the church. He has a good heart and loves the Lord, and we know this.
We had a good number at that meeting last night. 21 members showed up, and then six kids for the regular Wednesday night services. We nearly didn't have a service, but I started playing the piano, and we sang some very uplifting hymns and listened to several testimonies. God is good! A remnant has survived the attack of the adversary, and we praise the Lord for His protection and guidance and the healing that has already started to take place.
Diane, I hope you have a good day with the kids. You and many others here are constantly in my prayers. Keep yourself safe and out of that sun. Jim, too. He doesn't need to get sick.
Sue, praying for you and Dale and your grandson. God bless you.
I wish we could have a BB get together here in the South.
Make it a wonderful, God honoring day!
