I think our 'Sonics' probably tastes better because we have to drive so far to get there.

With the price of gas, a slush is gonna cost us around $5.00!

All this talk about Sonics made me eat 1/2 dozen cookies today! I just know I'm gonna dream about a foot-long chili dog tonight.

Pleasant dreams all!

Morning all:

We have "Sonic" everywhere here! Years ago, when we first moved here, nobody had ever heard of them. We did have one when we lived in Dearing, GA that was in Thomson, GA...12 miles away. We ate there often. When they came here, we loved it. We used to eat there quite often. Same thing with Steak & Shake! We love them both!

It's a cool 58 here, and VERY foggy. Viv killed a bunny this morning. Stupid thing ran right under the tires of the car out near the highway.

I went to my doctors appointment. I wondered why I wasn't seeming to get any better, and found out why yesterday. The kidney stone is still there. It is split in two from the lithotripsy, but, it hasn't moved one iota. They are waiting until Monday. If it's not passed or moved by then, then I will be admitted back to the hospital on Wednesday morning and they will do laser scope surgery, and I will be "stented". That IS NOT a comfortable procedure. (Sorry ladies, I hope that wasn't offensive or info overload!) I made them do an ultrasound to check my kidney's condition, and it is good. I've had three cousins die of kidney related problems before they were 50 (one died just two days after his 50th b-day)and diabetes. They all started with kidney stones. Can't help but confess, I'm a little scared. One died at 43 (the same age I am now), one died at 47, and then the other one listed above. I haven't told my birth father yet. It would worry him, and in his health, he doesn't need that. My step mother wouldn't care either way. My dying would probably be a blessing to her.

Anyhow, enough unpleasantness or "whining". This is the day that the Lord hath made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Be good, Be kind, Be careful

Good morning all:

Sorry to hear about the stone, Tony, but glad the ultrasound came out all right! Praying the stone will be gone by Monday...

It is 52ºF this morning and a little foggy. It is supposed to rain today and get up to 68ºF this afternoon.

School as usual today, but Sonics tomorrow!!!

What's a Sonic?

Just checked their website and the handy little store locater. It's 467 miles to the nearest one in Franklin, Ohio. Nobody makes a slaw dog that good!

Now if y'all want a slaw dog to die for, jest come on down to hunting' camp and....wait a minute, madre don't even get invited to hunting camp....nevermind. If you want a really good slaw dog fix yer own. ;)

Yes, they actually do!
Padre, don't know if you're old enough to remember the "Dog & Sud's" drive in restaurants. It's somewhat like that, or the A & W, but better in my opinion.

A Slaw Dog is a hot dog with coleslaw on it. Not to my liking...

I prefer the foot-long chili dogs. Yummmm!
Where I'm from a slaw dog is a hot dog with the chili and the coleslaw!~ I love 'em! ;)

We use the cole slaw here for that also, Sue!
I love weenies and sauerkraut, but can't get Vivian to eat dogs that way! She hates sauerkraut, but loves cabbage.

One of hubby's favorite meals is Polish Sausage cooked with sauerkraut, fried potatoes and onions, and scalloped corn.

Ok, I'm getting hungry now!

Thankful

Good Afternoon, everyone! Oh my, I'm trying to eat less and the talk of Sonic. I am sure I hear them calling my name. Thanks goodness it is too far and too dangerous for me to walk to the nearest one. But if I increase my walk each day I could do it, but there are no sidewalks.

I'm getting ready to go for a walk. Yesterday I did 10 minutes. Today I will do 15.

Tony, praying for you.

Hope you all have a great day.

From all of this talk, I'll assume a Sonic is a southern fast-food chain. Don't have 'em here. But we got McD's, Wendy's, Church's, BK, Taco Bell, Chik-Fil-A.

Ever get a cravin' for a Chik-Fil-A on Sunday, just because you know you can't get one? But I bless them for being brave enough to stand up for the Lord's Day.

Thankful

The first Sonic was in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1953, a drive-in with carhops. They still have carhops today.

There was a "Dogs and Suds" in Indiana when we lived there temporarily, but we never went. :(
We were introduced to Steak and Shake there tho, and loved it. Miss that one now that I'm back down here. And as I've said before, we LOVE Sonic!!!

Never had a store-bought slaw dog. Had my first one sitting with a feller half way up a mountain in southern West Virginia. I asked him what brand chili he put on it and he replied, "Critter". I've checked the stores around here and they don't carry that brand. :D
