Sorry for the double post, but forgot to say, I am sorry about your toe, Gina and hope you feel better.

I also hope it doesn't take as long for your prince to arrive as it did mine. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Thankful, you're watching a ball game? On purpose? [IMG] I used to enjoy them, now I just can't.

My toe is really not that bad now, as long as I don't step off of stuff leading with that foot. Found that out...twice.

The potatos have issues with my oven. They smell WONDERFUL, but they're kinda not cooking all the way because I must have overfilled the dishes (I made two of them) or they're just bubbling over and making a lot of smoke, so I kept the doors and windows open and kept opening the oven and fanning the smoke out the door so maybe it wasn't hot enough for them to cook all the way.
    Giving them a break now!
It just occurred to me that maybe I could put them in a bigger dish. DUH

Ok ANYHOW! I have a cause and effect essay due Monday, I'm thinking I have the perfect topic. There certainly were enough effects today, now I just need to pinpoint the major cause. First person to say "your stupidity" gets a really mean and long sideways glare!

On a happier note, I bought facial moisturizer. That may not sound like cause for great joy, but it's like a milestone for me. I've always refused to use it, it always reminded me of this one lady I really disliked who used it everyday. But...my face has been really dry for a number of years, so I broke down and bought a container of Pond's dry skin cream. Used it twice so far, I like it. (and it's not the same kind she used)

While I was buying it, I saw stuff for getting rid of blackheads.
So I wondered...I have them, AND I have dry skin. Am I doomed? If I use the formula, which is drying, and then use moisturizer, which can block pores, do they cancel each other out? Do they both do their job? Do they make a moisturizing acne treatment? If they do, is it self-defeating?

I never got into all this beauty stuff. (which may just explain the prince-in-abscencia-issue)

Alright, I better shut up and get busy figuring out these potatos and doing my essay.

You all have a good evening. [IMG]

yes, Gina, I watched the University of Oklahoma play Oklahoma State University. My team won!

University of Oklahoma 42 to OSU 14.

As to moisturizers, I used a certain kind for years and loved it. It was discontinued. I started using a Mary Kay moisturizer and it was discontinued and Mary Kay replaced it with one I do not like. Now if there is a company out there that wants to get rid of their moisturizers, just send me a sample that I would like.

My Mother used to use Ponds. Maybe I'll try Ponds.

Must go now. It is Muffin's pill time. Need to practice music for tomorrow and study SS lesson. Then my hair needs washing.

Have a great evening and worship service tomorrow.

    Betty

My mother used Ponds too, Betty. I use it to remove make-up, but I never thought of it as a moisturizer.

I used to use Mary Kay also and loved it. Of course, that was when I was selling it and getting it at cost.

I've never really had the time or money to take care of my skin like I should. I am starting to now, but methinks it's a little late...

I thank God I was blessed with good 'genes' in that department. The only flaw on my face has always been freckles. Yes, I still have them!

The Nativity scene is outside and all lit up. It lights up the whole front yard. I can even see the fence!

The icicle lights are all up and lit. The Christmas tree is up and lit. The only thing that needs 'hooked up' is the Santa, the candy canes that will border the sidewalk, and the 2 lamp posts that will sit on either side of the sidewalk where a gate should be in the fence but isn't (maybe next year).

Leaves (and a million sweet gum balls) are all raked up and bagged. Dale will take them to the dump after work Monday.

I am tired! I'm going to take my shower early and hit the recliner, crochet, and watch TV. The Hallmark Channel has been having Christmas shows on all day.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Good evening everyone!

I love the Christmas shows that are on!

The Mary Kay that I have I bought when I was selling it, but I am about to run out. Actually, I never did sell very much. I had more fun recruiting people to sell and giving them the opportunity to make extra money.

If a young girl starts early and works at it, she can be very wealthy. It is a great company to work for. My daughter was buying it basically for herself and her friends. When she died, the company let her husband return the stock that she had on hand and gave her full refund.

Wonderful church service this morning, first advent Sunday. We had a guest speaker who is a Baptist Jew. He told of his heritage and his wonderful Baptist wife who showed him the way.
He isn't a "preacher", but an oral surgeon who witnesses to his patients.

On my way to church again. Our youth intern is preaching tonight.

    Have a great evening.

    Betty

    Morning all:

Quite warm and windy here. It's 63 and the wind gusts are up to 48 mph. We are supposed to have some really bad storms here this morning/afternoon.

Vivian's car broke down on the highway so I had to go and take her to work. I have to go and pick her up...That's almost 200 miles all total today for me. It will be over that considering I have to drive 32 miles to meet the tow truck at 8 am. I hope the repair is something small, but I don't know. Viv said the car just stopped running and the oil light and the stop engine light went on at nearly the same time. Of course, the car had cut off, too. I think it's a sensor under the car that oil sometimes leaks on. I'm hoping it's just that and nothing else.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was pretty good. Mom was here from Illinois and we deep fried the turkey this year. It was pretty good. Mom was a big help in getting some things done in the house while she was here.

Sue, sorry to hear about your toe.

Y'all be good, be kind, be careful.

    T

    Good morning all:

Tony, thank you, but it is Gina that hurt her toe. I'm glad your mom got down to visit!

It rained, blew and thundered all night. I didn't get much sleep. I have plastic on the outside of my bedroom window and it must not be tight because it made an awful noise. I 'camped out' on the couch and that is never a good sleep.

We may have snow showers/flurries today and tomorrow, but it is supposed to be in the 50's.

Brent and I have both picked up colds. I think we got them the day we were out raking leaves, with coats on, and got too hot...

I put Vicks on him last night and put the vaporizer in his room with Vicks in it. We are both coughing and having trouble breathing. Hopefully, we will be well in time for the wedding!

    HAGD all!

    Good Morning, everyone!

The wind is blowing and making me nervous.

Muffin goes to the doctor today to have stitches removed. He wouldn't be still long enough for me to count them, but he has two places over three inches long with stitches.

He is eating the can food, not the dry. It only takes three tries now for each pill. We are on a roll here.

It's Monday so I have to get busy.

Good to see everyone. Hope the colds and other ailments go away.

A praise: our Sunday School teacher was in church yesterday after being out seven weeks.

PTL, Betty! It is so much easier to give pets (and children) medicine if they don't fight you.

Sorry about your cold, Allie. Misery loves company. Wanna share???

I think I may need a new vaporizor. Although, Brent's bedroom is open with three doors leading into it, so that doesn't help keep the steam confined to one area.

He is doing his school work now but both of us sound like Rudolph. "I have a 'told' in my 'dose'.

    Hello everyone!

Been quite the weekend here so I've only gotten online in bits and snatches.

It's good that Muffin is well enough to get her(his?) stitches out. It's bad that everyone has nasty colds(ug!). It's really bad that Jim has 8 inches of snow, but it's really good that I don't! [IMG]

Speaking of the weather, it almost feels like summer here. It's quite warm and very muggy. We're supposed to get some T-storms later this pm. then tomorrow it will be back into the 50's or low 60's.

I'm not terribly happy at the moment. My car that was supposed to be fixed, smells like a mixture of exhaust and hot coolant and my service engine soon light came on and stayed on the second time I turned my car on after getting it back home. And if that wasn't enough, the power steering is making noise and vibrating, but only when I'm in reverse! The car's headed back to the shop tomorrow, again!

Might should do a poll on which is worse: being sick with a cold or having car trouble!

No cabs in my part of the country. We don't even have bus service on my side of town! :(

At least I have good neighbors! I think I'm going to ask for a loaner car if they have to keep mine for longer than a couple of hours.

I don't know about you Sue, but I'm struggling right now. I feel like I got ran over by a train.

Menagerie, car trouble is horrible. Hopefully it'll work out and you can be back in a safe vehicle soon. I'm about to need a new car.

I don't feel that bad yet, Allie, but if this turns into Bronchitis or Pneumonia like it did last year - I will feel like I got run over by TWO trains...

I remember last year when you got real sick. That was no fun. I rarely get sick but when I do it seems to always be a real doozy.

I just want to go cuddle with my kitties. Do you still have yours Sue? I can't whine about being sick when I think of little Muffin and what a trooper he's been!

[IMG] [IMG] Okay, I've taken my life in my hands, not once but twice today! Hubby calls me from work earlier to see if I've been blown away by the storms that have been rolling through. When he finds out that I'm fine he tells me to call about something we have ordered. Being the nice wife that I am, I call him back to tell him about the order. By this time he was in a meeting! He HATES for me to call during meetings.

So when I get back from picking up kids from school the storms are blowing through where he is so I think it's been an hour surely his meeting is over. I call to see if he's been blown away. He was in another meeting.

I've decided he lives in meetings and it's never safe for me to call him!

Sigh, I guess I'm just spoiled. His old job didn't care if I called him during the day. 12 years of habit is hard to break.
