may have to start a new company there, Gayla. Like the title.

Now, if I can convince the local DMV to let this blind man have a drivers license I will really be in business

Good morning all:

My, what a chatty bunch y'all were last night!

BH must have worked overtime. I see the ants and silverfish are both gone, but so is MY piece of FUDGE!

I had a wonderful night's sleep last night for the first time in about three weeks! It feels SO good to sleep all night without waking up, or tossing and turning...

Gotta make a run to the store to get Egg Nog today. We always have that on New Year's Eve, along with some homemade snacks (still have plenty of them left over from Christmas).

Surfing,

Good morning all -
Couldn't sleep, so got up extra early two hours ago and decided to get a head start on my cranberry pumpkin bread with the thawed leftover pumpkin I had taken out of the freezer last night, only to find some "helpful" family member had gotten up in the middle of the night and put it back in the freezer for me. :(
I have a cheeseball to make for the church get- together at a friend's house tonight. And a pumpkin pie by special request from hubby.
I don't know where this last year has gone, except I think I have spent about half of it on the road!!
Everyone take care tonight and get off the roads early!

Hard to believe, this is the last day of the year already. It is also the coldest morning I have experienced this winter at -11 outdoors with a cold north wind blowing. It actually got down to 15 in the house (60 for some).

Mary comes home tomorrow, so I guess that means I have to clean house or face the consequences....

Happy New Years to all.

Cheers,

Jim

Looks like da ShAnE had to serve some coffee this morning! For all you northerners, I made my special, secret Bayou Blend ...the family loves it! ;)

I hope that everyone has a safe 2006 year. Doesn't "2006" make ya feel old, lol? Hey, I am just 14!

Love yah,
Shane Scott!

Good Morning Everyone!

Isn't it nice to have one of our youngsters serving us this morning?

Shane, you'll have to come around more often. If coffee is all you know how to make(and good coffee is a life skill), some of us old fogeys will be glad to give you cooking lessons!

Tony, it rained here last night also. This morning is brght and warm. The weather man says it'll stay this way today and most of tomorrow and then storms tomorrow night and Monday. I love this warm weather! I hate having to wear a bulky coat when I go out!

Jim, don't clean the house to well or your wife will think you didn't miss her! ;)

My big job today is restocking the pantry. It is amazing how much food can disapear from a house when everyone is at home all the time! I think we might go to the bookstore too. There are a couple of books I saw last week that I've decided to invest in. Cookbooks of course!

Cookbooks!! sheeeesh, we got cookbooks in the kitchen, in the hall closet, & I don't know how many recipies on different floppies. I love my wittle wife but all these recipies & won't ever use 95% of em.
Course she's got enough of'em in her head! She don't need no cookbook, not to keep me happy & after all....ain't that what matters???

My wife uses a lot of Paula Deen's recipe's and then some of Rachel Rays, etc. Food Network has been one of our favorite channels lately. We used to want to go into catering, but the Lord never really allowed the doors to open for that. Everyone we know loves our cooking.

It's now up to 50 here and it's so beautiful. We're considering trying to clean out the garage today.

LOL! Both T and I like our cookbooks! We have an entire bookcase filled with them. Today's investments will be more practical than some have been. I want the American Heart Association Cookbook and T found another one along similar lines but more carb orientated. T can be hard to cook for since he has both diabetes and extremely high cholestorol. We've been slowly changing our entire diet because of this.(not fun)

Tony, don't do to much. We did the garage a couple of weeks ago. It's full again! All the Christmas decorations are sitting around, now. They are going to stay right where they are for the time being!

Another late nighter. I think I am the only one here who knows what 430 looks like. Ha Ha...

Sue, I hid ya a piece of fudge in the Crisper in the refrigerator. Hope ya see this message before Jim sees it, he does look hungry. Oh well, more fudge later.

When mid spring get's here, remind me to make ya one of my famous Watermelon Cakes. They were always a favorite in Northern Virginia
Speaking of cookbooks, I have the MasterCook Deluxe on my PC and the only time it is used is when my sister calls me from North Carolina needing a recipe for a certain amount of people.

Sorry guys, these blind eyes messed up. didn't mean to double post, nor quote myself there. Sue is gonna box my ears again... and I was doing so good.

Weather Forecast

Ok, I may have spent half the morning crying because, well, I probably need help, lol, but it's mostly the constant rain, but the forecast has been a source of amusement.

I think it started raining towards the end of December, and I think we've only had one 1 1/2 days without it since, and the people writing the forecast have tried so hard to change how they say it.

It appears they're getting tired of it, but they're still making an effort.

Well that didn't go well! I hate cows and the first thing that started heading my way when I got to the pond was the cows. Once, when I was younger, one was running after me and almost attacked me and I have been afraid every since. This whole "country living" thing is not my type, lol. :D

Hey Gina, better get the rain coat, lol! (sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Geeener...did youpray for rain?
Kinda like the man that went to the doc for a checkup. The Doc came back & said , Sir I have some bad news...we found that you have diabetes. The man stood up & started shoutin'..Praise the Lord...Hallaluia!!!
The Doc looked at him & asked "How can you be happy over this?" The man looked back & replied..'I been prayin' for the Lord to make me sweeter...He just over done it a bit"!!
