    Hi all.
Eggs...I had a hard-boiled one this morning and it felt so nice.
I've got strep. My first time ever. I didn't know your throat could really feel like it was on fire! I've had a sore throat only a few times, and NEVER like this and it happened so FAST!

I'm taking anti-biotics and I slept like crazy today. No cough or stuffiness though, so that's good. And I've never felt this awful and been starving! It's like I could eat the whole refrigerator...except I don't want to have to swallow, just let it bypass right to my belly.

Ok, enough whining. I have a quiz to take, it was a take-home one so I ran in and got it this am, had planned on staying in class and it wasn't happening. Then slept till a bit ago and stumbled into parent-teacher conferences. The girls did EXCELLENT, with mostly straight A's on all their classes. I had to stop and let my fever go down on the way home because it spiked and I didn't want to drive like that, but am home again, took a little nap, and am about to go back.

I hope you all have a good evening, good night, whatever it turns out to be.

How'd you manage to go this long without ever getting strep? NOT FAIR!!!! ;) [IMG]

The good news is that you'll probably feel much, much better in the morning or by Wednesday at the latest. It usually doesn't take long for the antibiotic to knock strep out cold. Just don't get any ideas about stopping the antibiotic once you get feeling better. If you don't kill the germs all the way, it comes back worse than the beginning.

    The the girls GOOD JOB!

    Evening everyone.

It's been a busy day and I'm about to head to bed and watch tv.

I THOUGHT I had it about 4 years ago, but didn't. And how did I get away with that? After having it, I have to say by GRACE!

    Morning all:

Gina...I've had strep almost every year since I was in my teens.

The morning here is cooler than yesterday. It's only 60 with a heat index of 62. Rain tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day! I'm going back to bed. Meds have messed up my sleep schedule.

    Good morning all,

    Get some rest, Tony.

Hope you're feeling better today, Gina.

It has cooled down here, but it is nice weather to work outside. Our high is supposed to be around 70º with more rain tomorrow.

    Time for coffee,

Good Morning, everyone! I am so far behind on what's going on, I feel like a visitor. My old computer finally bit the dust. It is in the repair shop, but not sure that it can be resurrected. But this one is so wonderful! 19 inch monitor.

Ed said that I could buy a new one, but didn't have time to help me. So I went out on my own and was so confused, but my grandson works for Circuit City (in another state). I called him and he walked me through the the purchase of this one.

Aren't grandson's wonderful? He sounds so much like his dad (my son)

It will be very nice to have you posting again, Betty. I thought you 'jumped ship' on us!

I like getting a new computer, but I do NOT like having to put all my stuff on a new computer. I usually end up losing half of it!

Anyway, glad you're back! And, yes, grandsons are wonderful - but so are granddaughters. :D

Howdy Debby and Thankful! It's nice to see you again.

I slept all night and the kids had to wake me up to take them to school. My throat feels so much better, but still swollen. I'm seeing the doctor this evening. I slept all night Sunday, most of the day Monday, all last night, and I'm feeling like I could lay down and go back out right now. I think I'll try to hold out for at least another half hour...and it's really deep sleep that takes forever to actually wake up from.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Just stopped in for a quick Diet Coke and a hello.

I'll be back around this afternoon, cause I'm down in my back and probably won't be able to leave my chair much today. Gotta take a kid to the dentist though, bad back or no.

It is beautiful lawn cleaning up weather here and I have lots to clean and some to plant but my stupid back isn't going to let me do it today and tomorrow it's going to rain. Maybe Thursday or Friday I can get to it. The back yard is already a hayfield!

    See ya!

    Is lurking actually legal?

Good to see you posting Betty. All the best with your new computer, and isn't the larger screen wonderful. I should be lost without my big screen. Now if they would only make the keyboard larger......

Hard to imagine someone in Philly sitting back. Now maybe we can see some action in here.

    Cheers,

    Jim

The word "lurking" does have a very negative connotation.

Maybe we should all sit back and look at the lurkers with raised eyebrows for a moment...just enough to make them slightly uncomfortable. We should also mutter "hrm" and drum our fingers on the table, but only for about four taps, and then get back to drinking coffee.
This will make them aware that we're vaguely suspicious. ;)

Grrrrrrrr! Hubby sent for some military documents and they came via email today and I can't open them!

They are in .tif format and I have no program that will open that. I've tried them all!

I ask for help in the Computer Forum and followed all their advice, to no avail.

I emailed the government and ask if they could just send me hard copies via snail mail.

They said they would, but knowing the government, it may take them a few months and these documents are 'time sensitive'.

I'm just now breaking for lunch,

Sue, you can change the format of the documents.
I forget what I used to use for that.
I believe you said before that you have irfanview. I don't know if it'll work for text, but I'm thinking tif is image, not text, so they photo'd the things you want. (in other words, you couldn't copy and paste the words, they're embedded as a photo and not as text)

Save the files so you have two of them, in case you lose them trying this.
Open your extra copy in irfanview. Go to "file" and hit open, and open that copy. (name it something you'll remember). Go back up to file and hit :"save as", and in the second drop-down box it will show that it is a .tif format. Change it to what you know your computer can open. Like JPG.

    I think it's worth a try.

Or, you could just skip all that first, hit "save as", and see if it'll let you save it in a format you want. If you think it's text, try a text format.

    Morning all:

Sue, I'm not sure, but I think I opened my .tif documents in paint. I believe I have also opened them in a format that will support pictures. You could try and get the info off of Tech-TV.com..I believe that is the URL.

It's 70 here this morning. We have rain moving in and I was up off and on all night. I just took a Lortab, and hope to be able to have the pain alleviated enough to sleep. I'm getting all nervous again about the procedure on Friday, and I had a panic attack about 1 am. I don't know why I get so worried about these things.

Vivian is working a later shift this week. She's doing a higher grade levels job since one of their people are out for surgery. She hasn't been getting home until late. She's just been plain tuckered out. Tonight, Lord willing, to bed by 7pm. We were going to try to go to prayer meeting at church, but, it's just not going to be possible, since we won't get home until after 9pm, and to bed by 9:30pm. 1:45 AM comes early and quickly. Bless her heart, Vivian comes home, finishes up dinner that I couldn't get to, and then after eating sits on the loveseat and dozes.

Gina...how are things coming with your classes? Have you written any new material? I'm working on a manuscript entitled "Full Circle: The struggle to Find the Truth". It's slow going right now, but the Lord is working it out.

Well, ya'll. God bless you, and have a wonderful, Lord filled day.

    Good morning all,

Tony, someone on here sent me an invite to gmail at Google. I signed up for that, then forwarded my .tif to that account and it opened right up! I don't know why they sent it .tif because it was 25 pages of text!

I woke up with a spring cold this morning. I knew I had coughed through the night (kept waking up) and my head is all stuffed up. Colds this time of year seem to last forever.

It poured down rain during the night but is bright and sunshiny now with an expected high of 70º. I still need to get some yard work done.

    Time for coffee,

    Good...evening.
I'm home again. Still sick! That's three days of classes missed in a row. YIKES! I'm very behind.
That's how it's going Tony. I did write some new stuff. This quarter my writing portfolio is all essays. When time permits, the new stuff is put in my blog, it's linked in my profile. I should probably put more stuff up there sometime soon.

Do you have your manuscript online as you work on it? You should, make it a hidden site, and just let people on that you don't mind having read your unfinished work. People like me. LOL
I wanted my blog unavailable to people so I could feel freer to post stuff that wasn't finished and go back to it later, but I didn't know how.

It's really stormy here today. But we need the rain, so I won't whine.

Sure hope you're feeling better, Gina! Strep is horrible. I have had it a few times. Sickest I have ever been was when I had it for a few days before I went to the doc and got meds.

Sounds like everyone is sick this time of year.

I am leaving some cheesecake, if anyone wants a treat!
