Was it windy there in South GA today, Gayla? It was really windy here--25mph winds nearly all day. My whole yard is covered in little twigs and leaves from the trees.

Well, I guess I know what I have to do tomorrow--pick up all the stuff in the yard!!

Hi, GrannyGumbo! Good to see you back in these parts.

Howdy everyone! It's been really nice seeing everyone again.

I've enjoyed our cooler weather a lot this week - wish it could stay this way...but the dreaded swultry (sultry+sweltry) steamy hot LooZana weather will be creeping up shortly...prolly by this weekend. *sigh*

AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Now that that's out of my system...

Two of my girls played in a concert with their school at the local place where concerts are played. LOL Performing arts center or whatever. One plays flute, the other plays violin. It was GREAT! The third is gonna have to deal with me not being able to handle a kid playing yet another instrument and having more meetings and concerts and such. She'll probably have a complex from the meanness of me just saying no, because I don't want to. OH WELL! With the extra studying time she'll be able to afford the counseling she'll need as an adult, right?

I've got a crazy night and weekend ahead...trying to wind down a bit first. It's not happening though! I'd rather be sleeping, but I have a bunch of homework I haven't had time to touch today. I DON'T WANNA! WAAAAA!

You all have a good night/morning. I got my own treats. Powdered donut holes and iced milk, and I am NOT sharing! (not that I need them. ok, maybe I'll share ONE)

Morning all:

Someone told me that GG was here, so I HAD to stop in and say "Hello, Granny!"

Vivian found out yesterday that one of Dell's major competitors is coming to the Nashville area and will be up and running by October. Gateway announced on Tuesday or Wednesday that they will be starting their first manufacturing facility here in the US soon, and in Nashville!
You should have seen the Dell employees applying online directly from Dell!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning all,

Tony, that's great news! Maybe Dell will start treating their employees a little better now...

It rained during the night and rain is scheduled every day through next Thursday. I am really praying that it doesn't rain on Memorial Day. My house just isn't large enough to have a picnic for 30 people!

Time for coffee,

Good Morning Everyone!

At least it is for me. Cassie on the other hand seems to have strep and must go to the doctor this morning. Ugg! 3 in one week, maybe I'm not having such a good day. Oh well, at least I FEEL good, even if I have to sit in the docs office, again!

Chris and I survived his field trip and he still woke up headache free in spite of the weather system that is moving in.
Jenna, bless her heart, ended up by herself on her field trip yesterday but had a good time anyway. Then she talked Nanny into a new outfit when they went shopping for Cassie after school. She was very tired this morning but went to school anyway, so that is good. Hopefully she'll recover from the mono here real soon!

Gina, you and I should compare schedules for this weekend. Mine consists of, doc today and if we get done in time the fifth grade talent show that Chris isn't participating in but wants me to attend anyway, karate tonight, karate testing tomorrow at 9, and in between all that I have the front and back yard to mow, a dog to groom, the house to clean, and Cassie to get ready for her cruise that she's leaving on next Saturday. She's gonna be tough to pack for because the day she gets back we are going on our vacation to DC. So I have to make sure she has enough clothes for at least 2 weeks, cause there won't be any washing time in between! I don't usually keep that many clothes for my kids, but I think we are just about there!

You know what? I think I just depressed myself thinking about all I have to get done! ;)

First stop: calling the doc!

Morning all!

I didn't take a lazy day yesterday after all. I worked like a dog. I cleaned out closets, rearranged furniture, took stuff to goodwill and out to recycling. Felt wonderful!

Today probably won't be so productive. BUT the sub was good and didn't leave me a note that he'd never work with this group again! Hallelujah!

Good morning all! It's nice and cool, starting to rain. I LOVE IT!

mk, I say we call everything off, and just call each other. LOL It was the last two days that were absolutely nuts, and today will be too. The weekend is just full of studying for a major test Monday and OH YEAH a mid-term that has to be a minimum of 8 pages. Somewhere in there I'll catch up on laundry and clean my bedroom, the bedroom which puts my kids messiness to SHAME! Their dad used to keep me in line and I'd have to have the house perfect. Never thought I'd miss that nit-picking, but it DID force me to keep stuff in order! A maid would be even better though. HA! Wait...we have CHILDREN! ;)

I'm still smiling over the concert last night though. That was so nice! I hope it was videoed, because I'll certainly purchase a copy or two. It was interesting to watch the daughter that plays violin. I think she's found her talent, and that's neat to see. She's shy beyond reason, but she gets up there and plays and just gets into it. That's really neat for a mom to see! I think she'll stick with it and end up a totally awesome player.
The one that plays flute...I'm probably going to pull her out of it next year. She did great and loves to perform, but she struggles with learning it and I don't think she's that motivated to try. And I don't push her...it was a choice and her decision to take it, my only requirement was that she stick with it this year as she asked to take it. (and the flute wasn't cheap and I figure I got the cost out of it by having her do it for a full season, right? :D )

A maid sounds good but they are few and far between around here. I know cause I have to use one occasionally when the house gets out of hand because I have to many sick kids to deal with.

Calling it off sounds good to, but there would be consequences.

Therefore, I am headed to the lawn mower!

(aren't I brave?

Good morning all,

Bitsy, I am happy to know that you're going to live, at least through the day. :D

I woke up at 6:30 to find two grandsons playing Stratego on the kitchen table. Oh well, my day is just starting a little early. So much for quiet time.

I believe I'll put a pot of coffee on. We always have brunch around 10:30 on Saturday, instead of breakfast, so Dale can eat with us. I will only drink one cup, but hubby will have no problem finishing the rest of the pot...

HAGD all!

I cooked brunch today. Good stuff!

I found some White Lilly brand biscuits that have the country gravy baked right in. When I saw it I thought "yeah, right, we'll see if'n they're fit to eat." They're pretty good. [They're the frozen biscuit dough kind.]

Evening all,

We had boiled omelettes, toast and OJ for brunch.

Then I fixed pork chops on the grill for supper, with mashed potatoes, breaded tomatoes and peas. We had sliced peaches for dessert.

Now, it's bedtime...

Pleasant dreams all!

Well,well.

I'm the first one today.

Sitting here eating popcorn and looking at all the laundry my oldest brought home from college.
