I'm back from the eye doctor again. This week I've got a reading contact in one eye and an astigmitism contact in another.

This is one weird experience. Two days. She told me to give it two days.

Is it going to miraculously disappear,or improve in 48 hours?
This isn't the same doc who told that you weren't a candidate for laser surgery is it?
Hopefully this condition is easy to treat, and maybe, just maybe you'll be considered for laser surgery.
I just cannot picture you as what Chonda Pierce calls a
"Four-Eyed Blonde".
Keep us updated, problems with your eyes are not to be taken lightly.

Sometimes eye conditions do change over a few days or weeks. I get eye examinations at least once a year, but never get glasses prescribed without two eye examinations a week apart. My condition is related to my diabetes...and my strokes. I currently have four pair of prescribed glasses; reading, computer, normal distance ad the same with bifocals. Thankfully, my insurance plan covers 80 % of the cost each time.

All the best with your eyes. They are most precious.

Cheers,

Jim Sr...the one on the left

Well, this is supposed to be the solution to bifocals. One eye will adapt to reading and one will adapt to seeing everything else. The adaption is supposed to happen in 48 hours. We'll see :D . The alternative is wearing two astigmitism contacts and wearing glasses to read. right now, it's just kind of woosy feeling. I did finish refinishing a footstool to go with one of the wingbacks. I'll have to ask Ron if it looks like I think it does.

I did something of the sort for a few years a while back, only I simply wore one contact (in my worst eye). That eye did the distance vision and the other eye did the up close stuff. It was the solution for the headaches I got when I did up close work even though I didn't need reading glasses. It did take some getting used to. My doc told me to give it a couple of weeks though. Didn't take that long though. I was fine by the end of the second or third day.

That's encouraging MK! I just sent Ron off to help my mom look for a new refridgerator and decided to stay home for fear I'd bump into some appliance.

I can see better up close. I wouldn't have been able to type all this with the two distance contacts in before without reading glasses.

Early this morning, I covered all my lumber with a plastic cover...in case it rained...it didn't. It is still covered and I didn't get any work done to-day, and it still hasn't rained. Funny thing, the weatherperson in the city sits by a window and talks about how nice it is outdoors in the area, when in fact it is pouring down with rain.......and I trusted the weatherperson to-day.

Good evening, and cheers,

Jim the elder

Jim, It's poured off and on here all day. Ron keeps going to the door to look out to take something to his car in case it's raining in the morning. I think he'll fall asleep and it will still be raining tonight and in the morning!

Just stopping by to say good night.

Bitsy: I wear contacts. I love them and it took no time at all to get used to them.

One eye has the bifocal lens for reading and close work and the other eye has the lens for distance.

The brain and eyes will coordinate very quickly. I have had mine for about 10 years now.

Jim: Leave both the pics. That way I get to see you twice!

Pleasant dreams all!

How'd that happen? I'm never the last one up?

Where is everyone?

Ah well, if no one comes around soon, I'll just finish wiping up and head off to bed. I have a book to read. :)

Nope, I'm still here. HA! I'm kinda just waking up...at least it feels that way! I've not really done anything of value except make dinner, so I'm eyeballing the bathroom. I might actually clean it. What I'd REALLY like to do is go shopping. Just go grab a cart and walk around somewhere looking at stuff. Don't really even want anything. Just feel like wandering aimlessly with no good reason or purpose.

Maybe pick up an item, place it somewhere it doesn't go in another aisle, stop, repeat.

Sounds like a plan to me!
