Chocolate induces Heart Attacks

Sue,
Your doc already "induced a heart attack" by depriving you of chocolate.
After you have a test involving radiation you should always eat a piece of chocolate. The radiation kills bacteria, and the chocolate replaces the bacteria killed by the radiation.

Rob: I have successfully finished the tests. The nurse was so sweet, she had a Hershey bar waiting for me after the radiation.

Sue, call the camp back, have them give Brent some Tylenol or Advil, go have your test and a glass of tea and then go pick him up. (you'll have to wait for the M&Ms). If he's been running a fever all night and they didn't call you, he'll survive till you get there. Probably he picked up strep from another kid.

Cindi: The camp DID call last night and I feel so guilty! I'm used to having a land-line and I had it disconnected two days ago. I forgot and turned my cell phone off at 10:30 last night (first time). They called at 11:00 p.m. and couldn't get anyone. They had to leave a voice mail.

I didn't get the message until I got up and turned my cell phone on this morning.

The nurse stayed up with him ALL NIGHT, in the infirmary, giving him Tylenol and checking his fever. I felt SOOOO bad.

Anyway, he is home and his fever is down to 101.6. He has a headache, but no other symptoms. Me thinks he had too much 'fun in the sun' in 95+º weather.

If he is not 'right as rain' by tomorrow morning, or if his temp elevates again tonight, I will take him to the doctor.

He ate a huge breakfast when he got home and is watching TV and drinking iced tea. I think he will be fine. I'm continuing the Tylenol every four hours.

I'm sure glad MY tests are over! M&M's never tasted so good!

I should have some test results sometime tomorrow.

I think I need a nap!

Ho Hum...well thats not going good.
Put the A/C in & it ran great...for about 10 mins. The compressor keeps kickin on & off & that ain't good. Not every couple of mins. Guess I'll have to check the local pawn shops & see what i can come up with. At least I'll have another one for my recycling pile!!

It sure is aggravating when you've spent time working on something and it still doesn't work.

I'm feeling kinda ho hum myself today. We had Chinese last night for supper and now the two eldest (who are lucky to be alive after yesterday anyway) have migraines. Migraines=quiet. Bitsy and I have been keeping busy cleaning out her room and rearranging her furniture. We're about half done.

My house is a puzzle but you can't tell it from the outside. I like it this way though. I don't want a house that I can stand in one end and look through to the other. You have to keep those clean. Clean is not always part of my vocabulary. :D

Sue, I'm glad you can eat chocolate again and I'm glad Brent is home safely. A good appetite is a good sign, so you may be right about the heat. (Really, the nurse gave you chocolate? Wow! She deserves a medal!)

Gotta go move the sprinkler. I sure wish it would rain. Now last year I was wishing it would stop raining! Fickle aren't I?

No No BH...she said fickle...not pickle!! BH loves pickles too, so does Sam.
The A/C is still cooling for the most part. I may just leave it & see if it has one of those strange maladies that clear themselves up after a while.
I'm hoping to hear from a freecycler bout a ridin lawnmower that needs some work. I can really use another one.
Gotta go pick up my check so I'll be in later...BH said she's gonna stick around & look for that pickle...guess she don't believe me!

Just got a call from the doctor's office. Echocardiogram came back and it's not normal.

I couldn't get anything out of the nurse other than doctor insists on talking to me in his office tomorrow afternoon. The other tests should be back by then too.

Not exactly what I was hoping to hear. :(

Please keep praying... :praying:

Thanks so much!

Sue, think of it this way, if they said nothing at all, or tests reveal nothing, you would still be wondering. At least you know there is something and the medical people found it....Now for the remedy. Keep your chin up..God is able, still.

Cheers,

Jim

Oh Sue, I'll certainly keep praying.

I am glad Bitsy decided she didn't feel like going to gymnastics. I don't feel like taking her! We did get her room cleaned and rearranged except for wall washing and carpet cleaning. Those will come later as part of a whole house project. (you know, one kid washes walls, another lemon oils the woodwork, the third vaccuums up this years litter of spiders and webs and I clean the carpets. Only takes two or three days depending on how many breaks we take and then that is the end of spring cleaning)

I told the migraine kids that tomorrow they would have to sleep in their rooms and not in the livingroom and my room. Bitsy room wasn't on the cleaning schedule for today. I changed things because they fell asleep before I could get started and then I didn't want to wake them. Tomorrow though, I have to work on the lr and I don't plan on being quiet about it or working in the dark! My room is almost finished so I'll take care of the rest of it tonight.

Bitsy is thrilled with her clean and rearranged room and has already asked when she can have a friend spend the night!

Gotta go see about supper. Chicken fajitas for tonight!

Well at least I won't be the only one having fun. I was informed by my sweet honey that I get to put up an entertainment center tomorrow. I just hope we still have all the pieces after the last move. Wouldn't be so bad but it's one of the particle board ones & it's huge. Oh well, least it will be inside work. Have to do some outside work rite now so see yuns' later!

I'd hope it wouldn't come back normal if you have a heart blockage! Now they just have to tell you the details of it, right?

Well Sue, at least ya ain't havin to ride in a helicopter with two grey haired med techs! Back in 2000 when I had my heart attack I had them come in the ER to pick me up. I took one look at them & said I was meeting the pilot fore I went anywhere with them. When they asked why I said if he had turned them grey already I wasn't too sure I wanted to fly with him. Everyone in the ER was bustin a gut....cept my poor little wife! I'm sure everthing is gonna turn out fine.

I'm dreadin tomorrow for purely selfish reasons....got too many things to accomplish. Got the back yard mowed around 8pm & got to do the rest sometime tomorrow. Plus put up that entertainment center, lay the plywood in the attic that I've put off all week, put the stuff on the plywood in the attic, clean BH's cage, tear down some old rabbit hutches behind our building, & start tearing them A/Cs' apart...all in this 90+ degree weather!! Oh, plus pay bills around town!!! Thats the funnest part!!

I don't think so Gina. The EKG showed the blockage. The ECG must have showed something different because we already knew about the blockage.

It's hard not to try and guess. Well, I'll know tomorrow afternoon for sure (at least I hope so) I'm really not into taking more tests. The next test would be a heart catherization (sp). Not sure I could do that one and praying I don't have to.

I'm really praying that whatever the problem is, he will say it can be corrected with exercise and a change in diet. I'm willing!

Morning all:

Sue, will continue to keep you before the Lord in prayer.

Well, it's a bit cooler this morning, though, when Vivian left at 3:30 am, it was 80 degrees. It's 72 now.

I was awake off and on all night. I think, because of the constant havng to sit up to breath and keep my leg stretched out, that I will probably be taking up residence in another bedroom. It keeps Viv awake when I can't get comfortable or breath, and I don't want her to be worrying about that junk. She's got enough on her plate right now.

My mom got her CT scan results back from the pulmonologist, and the spots on her lung have stayed the same, so he's not going to do anything right now. She's going to ask him about testing her for sarcoidosis. I've thought about doing that myself, because many of the symptoms of my own inability to get air are in the symptoms listed.

We're going to try and visit "Believers Chapel" this week. It's a baptist church, but run in a multiple elder styled way, and is a "Free Grace" church as opposed to a Sovereign grace church. Tony Evan's church, Oak Ridge Bible Fellowship is in this group of churches. They just had John MacArthur there this past weekend, and I heard it was great. We've had friends from the first SBC church that we attended here ask us several times to come, and the Lord seems to be opening the doors now.

God bless ya'll, and make it a wonderful day!

Bro. T

Sue, if they want to do the heart cath, you will survive it! I promise. I held my MIL's hand through hers (not literally of course). She wasn't real thrilled with the idea either, especially since my FIL wasn't going to be there. But, once she got hooked up with the good drugs (don't remember what) and they got started, she found it quite interesting. Since they ended up putting in a stent they took before and after shots and gave her copies. It was amazing the difference in the two.

The worst part for her was having to be still for the hours after the procedure.

Haven't been outside to check the temp, but it is much cooler in the house today. Yea!

Now Tony, what do you mean by confusing me down here in the Coffee House? Just what is the difference between Sovreign grace and Free grace? And don't I believe in both? (God is sovreign and grace is free)

Too early in the morning!!!!:D

More coffee, must have more coffee!

Good Morning!

Cindi: The hard part for me would ALSO having to be still in one place for a long period of time. I get very anxious if I can't get up and move around (Agoraphobia). I feel trapped.

I just want to find out what is going on. As you can imagine, I am thinking the worst one minute and the best the next.

Rachel sent me something this morning. I picked out a paragraph that really spoke to me.

For those times when life is hard, you set your chin like flint and say I am a child of the King of Kings. He has brought me through many things before, and He will bring me through this.

HAGD!

They put a stent in my heart in 2000, I even layed there & watched! On a monitor of course, but it was intresting. No pain whatsoever...but was black & blue in the area they entered in, plus with the blood thinners everywhere I bumped turned blue. I looked like I'd been beat half to death for a while!! I just told everyone Agee dun it!!!

I think a lot of my reservations stem from the fact that I was widowed at age 27.

My husband died on the table during open-heart surgery.

My husband, Dale, has a stent and a defibrillator, but he also flat-lined three times.

I don't have a very good view of messing with the heart...
